9:38 Oh hell no! Change your oil and filter every 5000 miles if you want your bike to last. The 10,000 mile service claim is a marketing con done by many car and bike makers, to make their product more appealing. They assume you will sell it before the engine give out, leaving the problem for the next person who owns it.
I've test ridden the whole Enfield range. They don't just look retro they slap you bang into the era they come from. Romantic but a bit shaky. They sell because they're cheap
Driving an hour is a big deal? I have to drive 40 minutes to get to ANY dealer of anything. There are 4 dealers within 2 hours drive of my house, good enough for me. I'm getting one of these in the spring and plan to ride it until I can't ride anymore (I retire at the end of the year)
First your right about them being great bikes and hard to find here in the States second after you've put some time on it and built you riding skill I've got three word for you BIG BORE KIT it will knock it up to 863 cc and about 70 horses power and 80 NM of tork and most importantly third get rid of that silly cowboy hat !

Hi Alex my compliments for your new, first, bike. Less than 10 days ago I did the same choice purchasing an used ones. Previous owner already changed indicators that are really orrible. The first surprsing impression during the first trip was 'it is so simple to ride' really! It was as I already rode it for hundreds of miles. Have fun. Cheers from Italy

Hi Alex. You are absolutely right on everything you say. Having spent a fortune on over 50 bikes in almost 50 years, you have bought the right bike, first time round. Have years of fun. Thanks for a well made video.
I've had mine since 2019 (ordered it, weren't in the dealers yet) and love it! I've made a few subtle changes both mechanical and cosmetic. Swapped out the mufflers for Indian made AEWs (sound great and quite a bit of weight savings), DNA air filter, booster plug (improves fueling) and YSS suspension upgrades (fork and shocks), really transformed the bike! For cosmetic changes, swapped out the turn signal with some genuine Lucas units, adjustable levers, fluted glass headlamp, Napleon bar end mirrors and an RE fly screen....the bike looks truly vintage now and I constantly get asked about "the restoration". I did make one "modern" concession, I replaced the seat with a Corbin, the original and touring versions We're agonizing on longer rides! I've been riding for close to 50yrs and own a few other bikes as well so, this bike isn't just appealing to beginner riders. I look at it as a blank canvas to make it "yours"....not done yet! Congrats and enjoy! Be safe! Ride with notion that you're invisible and nobody sees you.
Thank you for sharing! Would LOVE to see a picture of your bike, it sounds like a stunning build! I am planning to make many of the same modifications you’ve made, so this helps tremendously! p.s. How do those Corbin seats feel?
@@iamalexsun It took a lot of internal debate (talking to myself) to convince myself to spend that kind of money, but my first 200 mile ride on the stock seat left me feeling like my nuts were in a vise!..... subsequent rides with the newly acquired "touring" seat were no better, so I bit the bullet and forked out the money for the Corbin, best (and most expensive) mod I've made yet, but totally worth it.

Hey, thanks for watching and the support! I'm about 5ft 8, the Int650 is a little tall for me. My heels are about a half inch off the ground with both foot down. I believe the GT650 is a little shorter. I would advice against getting the Grom, it's a fun little bike, just not the best for street use. Hope this helps! Cheers!
Alex, you mention the indicators. I don't mind round indicators because I'm ancient and when I was riding back in the seventies all bikes had indicators exactly like those, so that's what I expect. One thing that I have noticed specifically regarding the Interceptor 650 is that the indicators are round on the American version whereas elsewhere, certainly here in the UK but also in India, they are smaller and rectangular with rounded corners. Check out reviews by British UA-camrs (or even Royal Enfield's Interceptor promo which you show in your own video) and see what you think. Maybe you can order some.
Thank you for the insight. It must be due to the regulations here in the US. I do plan on replacing the indicators with smaller and brighter LED ones. I will be making a video about it in the future, stay tuned!

The xf 250, 18 horsepower is capable of 70 mph on a highway with very little vibration! No regrets. Lightweight, good gas milage and the engine is a TU Suzuki 250cc clone) Next winter I plan to purchase a Royal Enfield Interceptor, THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK and you've covered all the bases as to why. before you buy this bike be aware that every 3k miles when you change the oil you need to adjust the valves also., maintenance is very expensive., it will cost you $600 dollars or more to keep this motorcycle it good running condition. The metal material of the engine is so cheap that it will break down probably before it pass 25k miles.I got this info from my friends that work as a mechanics in a Royal Enfield dealer ship. I was planning to get the Int650 and they told me to get another brand instead of this one. that was a big bummer cause I really like the looks of the motorcycle.
You drove an hour to get to a dealership 😂, Im an Indian and in India yet I had to travel 3.5 hrs to get one... it's a Himalayan though but for the roads I travel it feels absolutely tailor made and there's already an interceptor in the family so it's easy to swap when one feels like 👍 cheers.

Hey thanks for stopping by! You’re probably going to be on your toes when putting both feet down with the stock seat. I believe the touring seat is a tiny bit lower, but there are aftermarket options as well. Boots with thick soles do help, but be careful, they limit ankle mobility making it harder to feel the brake and shift levers. Best of luck to you and ride safe!
I'm 40 and as for my first bike I want this. And also I do not want to drive it from dealer, I want to try it slowly in my back yard and then secondary roads. I'll ask my buddy to get it to my house. That is not that unusual to ask more experienced guy to drive your new bike home. Yeah, I have my license but it was on nakeds, street bikes, this is classic I preordered and did not had a chance to ride. So no shame in asking buddy to get it home. At least I don't feel any.

@@iamalexsun I wanted to see them in person, kinda like give me a good goal for all of these extra weekends that I'm working. I'll be able to take one home by the end of the season and not have a loan.
@@marchettejw I'm sure you will be very happy with your decision! Please keep us updated!

I am planning to Buy an Interceptor 650 in Jan 2023 And It will be my first Bike. My question is Why did you choose Ventura Blue color?
The sky. I would have gotten a green one if that was an option.
I own one and its a god damm good bike for the price
I love mine!!!!!

Good video 👍
First of you made the right choice picking the Interceptor. Second of what I’m the world is that second Honda??? It’s not even a proper motorcycle.
here in indonesia retail price this bike cost twice yours. I love this country.
Cool t shirt
Where’d you get it at
PewDiePie 100 Mil Club T Shirt
I've test ridden the whole Enfield range. They don't just look retro they slap you bang into the era they come from. Romantic but a bit shaky. They sell because they're cheap
Value for money. 💰
Driving an hour is a big deal? I have to drive 40 minutes to get to ANY dealer of anything. There are 4 dealers within 2 hours drive of my house, good enough for me. I'm getting one of these in the spring and plan to ride it until I can't ride anymore (I retire at the end of the year)
Hope it all goes well with your purchase! Please keep us updated. Ride safe!
Don’t bore out a royal 🤦♂️. You’ll cut the life span in half and loose their beautiful warranty. Also can Chinese people not wear cowboy hats? That hats part of the personality!
If most people don't know about royal enfield, those people are blind and deaf
Sound kind as kinda familiar 🤔
Wow😍😍😍
I’m getting the continental gt dux deluxe as my first bike. Int650 Mark 2 is tempting. Also Honda Rebel is ugly. That gigantic hump.
Congrats! Please keep us updated!
@@iamalexsun Okay, update the dealership had both the Dux Deluxe Gt and The Int650 Mark2. Since, I’m a sucker for chrome got the Int650. Drive off price about $7700 in Texas.

Dude atleast wear a motorcycle gear that matches your motorcycle.
What I love about the interceptor is its extremely modifiable and royal Enfield themselves support these projects by posting it on their UA-cam channel
Yes I agree... A motorcycle should look like this... Not like plastic container 👍🏻
Had mine since September 2021 , and I will never sell her , it's just a sweet bike all round .
I have a faster bike that I use as my daily to and from work so the Interceptor is weekends , and yes people do come over for a look and a talk all the time .
Nice review and thank you .
Good for you brian.
Just make sure you do an oil change every 5000 mile, not 10,000 as suggested. Piston sleeves will score badly over time, ruining your wonderful engine.
This might be the best review of the bike I've seen, and I've seen lots!
I have had Harleys, Honda, Yamaha, Triumph and Royal Enfield. Currently I got a GT650 and love it. Best warranty and classic design, enough power for any law abiding citizen. My favorite out of all the bikes I've owned.
Bro, Nice way of presentation... All the best ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
Fantastic sexy bike 😍😍😍👌👌👌👌
Hi Alex my compliments for your new, first, bike. Less than 10 days ago I did the same choice purchasing an used ones. Previous owner already changed indicators that are really orrible. The first surprsing impression during the first trip was 'it is so simple to ride' really! It was as I already rode it for hundreds of miles. Have fun. Cheers from Italy
Thank you for your kind words, ride safe! CheeRS!
I bought a triumph street twin couple months ago for my first bike. It’s been my dream motorcycle since it was introduced back in 2016. But I do love the RE, as well. Welcome to the club fam!
Royal Enfield are going to launch meteor 650 which is in testing stage.Scram 411 they launched.himalayan 450, Scram 450 and more bikes are coming with more features like traction control, slippers clutch , riding modes etc
Was torn between this and the continental. Sat on both at the dealership and went with the GT. Both are beautiful machines
Hi Alex. You are absolutely right on everything you say. Having spent a fortune on over 50 bikes in almost 50 years, you have bought the right bike, first time round.
Have years of fun.
Thanks for a well made video.
Thank you for your kind words! Ride Safe!
I have watched so many so called experts and you have hit the nail on the head! I have had everything you bike yo u can imagine..in 66 years of riding..I now ride a Intercepter the best value bike EVER!! When I ride it takes me back to when I was a Ton up Boy ..just Magic!! My age 81.Safe Riding. God Bless.
Thank you for your kind words sir! Ride Safe!
Go for continental Gt premium touring seat , that looks good too and you can also put a cowl on it
What a brilliant bloke. Original and independent thinking that has lead to a great choice of bike. Ride safe brother.
Thank you for the kind words! It really means a lot. Cheers!
It's official. With my tip money and paychecks 2 or 3 months I should have one. I live in a fairly weather friendly state.

Great video, well done! I have a stock Interceptor. For me, it’s the best bike I’ve ever had despite its low price point…
Glad to know you love one of the best bikes India has to offer. ! Love from this part of the world :)
👌🏼Looks great.. you picked the right one for daily rides .. meteor is a good one too..
Nice video man! Been following your channel. Just curious as im also thinking of getting a Cont GT650 instead of a honda rebel, how tall are you and what is you inseam? I might need to lower it if I get it xD Also did you take the motorcycle training course? Thanks!!
I'm ancient too, I have round signals. An Interceptor is a portal to the '60s. It's definitly a round thing. 👍
Good explanation on the Harley LOL! 👍
Apparently you can change the cam out and get another 10hp. Combo that with an A/M exhaust you might get 13 hp
Sportster tank is too small. Otherwise a great bike.
@@redtobertshateshandles I find the 3.2 gal tank to be sufficient, it runs dry about where I want to get off and stretch anyway.

Great video !
I've been a Harley guy for 50 years but not soley Harleys.
I purchased a 2012 Royal Enfield 500 Classic Bullet when I was on the mend from a back injury complication. Great Thumper to get a disabled veteran back on two wheels.
I currently own a 1996 Dyna Glide Convertible, a 2007 Ultra Classic, a 2020 SSR XF 250 dual purpose & an SSR 189 enduro. (people laughed at me for purchasing the SSR'S. I checked out, like you hours of reviews then made the purchase. The xf 250, 18 horsepower is capable of 70 mph on a highway with very little vibration! No regrets. Lightweight, good gas milage and the engine is a TU Suzuki 250cc clone)
Next winter I plan to purchase a Royal Enfield Interceptor, THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK and you've covered all the bases as to why.
A dealer in Florida for instance is selling new 2021 Interceptors, left overs for $5,199 !
That's a reliable 650cc motorcycle, vintage styling with modern upgrades new for $5,199 !!!

What dealer is selling them for that cheap?
before you buy this bike be aware that every 3k miles when you change the oil you need to adjust the valves also., maintenance is very expensive., it will cost you $600 dollars or more to keep this motorcycle it good running condition. The metal material of the engine is so cheap that it will break down probably before it pass 25k miles.I got this info from my friends that work as a mechanics in a Royal Enfield dealer ship. I was planning to get the Int650 and they told me to get another brand instead of this one. that was a big bummer cause I really like the looks of the motorcycle.
thank you for sharing. don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!
Enjoyed your video. Comments much appreciated. Length, and content spot on for me. A different video on the Interceptor I've come across. Thanks.

Congrats on the Himalayan! Ride safe out there!
@@iamalexsun thanks, wish you fun and memorable rides on your int 650 👍. Just a heads up, left lean on 650 is hampered by the centre stand extension that is used to step on and get it standing upright.
Congrats on your new bike .. and your new channel? :)
Simple and straightforward.
loved the video and your style of presentation!! The Bike's engine is perfect for what its meant for but yeah there is room for improvement when it comes to suspension and breaking (which, in my opinion, are the only places that the bike is lacking), other than that it is a sweet Bike overall!!!!!
Just wait for meteor 650, shortly they are going to launch .It will be cruise oriented and pack of power. Also they are launching Himalayan 650 which is in developing stage. As they had launched Scram 411.Future they are launching Himalayan 450,scram 450 and many more bike's in pipeline with cruse control, traction control and many features etc...
@@chaitanyashervegar8234 the Himalayan 450 and its roadster version is what I'm waiting for, a 450cc liquid cooled single would be absolutely amazing!! If RE comes out with it then I can't think of any other bike, especially in the Indian market that I would buy other than that!
Already Himalayan 450 is in a testing stage last seen on Indian roads in India with new features more power. Shortly they are launching in 2-3months not confirmed but as on UA-cam s they are predicting let's see.As I am also going for Himalayan or scram 411 or 450 let's see .As it is all rounder.Could yu please tell me how is triumph tiger 660 as I am planning for future.Should I go for tiger 660 or 900cc adventure bike please help me as new comer bike rider🙏🙏🙏
@@chaitanyashervegar8234 it all depends on your budget and need, there's the Tiger 660, Versys 650, CB509X, but these are basically road bikes and you can't do much off road on them, the only budget bikes that can actually do off-road are the KTM 390 adv and the Himalayan. I would not recommend Triumph if you're on a budget, again triumphs are absolutely beautifully performing machines but they are basically premium bikes with a big price tag. But again if you have the budget just go for the Africa Twin😅 I mean you can't go wrong there.(just a joke)
Hii as I am already thinking for Himalayan or scram 411 other than that I had kept options Suzuki vstrom on 650 and tiger 660 both have traction control.Cb-500x has good refined engine not no traction control.Does traction control improves the riding ability.Out of three which I should I go go for.Does traction control matters.
Does tiger 660 has refined engine or I should go for tiger 900 as tiger 850 company has stop taking bookings which one is good as beginning rider.
As I had sit on African twin it huge bike beautiful machine but as a beginner it will take time to used to it.Lot of people say even from honda said go for Cb500x then yu can go for African twin as a beginner.
Nice video mate I’m on my learners license here in down under ‘ I’m a 5’5” wil I be able to safely plant feet on the floor?
