I have one small system that has a horrible break out of algae! I’ve done dawn, peroxide and bleach. It still doesn’t seem to have cleared it. Do you know of a good product?
Are you oxygenating the water/fertilizer mix? Small aquarium air pumps with an airstone work well in this situation. I don't use them because I have a high volume turnover of water/fertilizer mix (1500 lt/hr) that draws air into my reservoir.
@@theshadehousegardener3940 wow! thanks for the reply! my brother sent me "a hope garden". I am new to hydroponics. it does have a unit at the bottom that moves the water slightly. not sure if it pumps air. one unit is doing great with beautiful red lettuce. the other just turned green and bubbly. i discarded the sponges and removed the plastic cones. next i thought i would use an algaecide, but i can only find one for ponds/fountains. the unit holds about 8 liters of water. there is a fertilizer mix a and b that comes with the unit.
