I had a white '57 with a black interior. My first restoration ever was replacing the rotted wooden door sills. I hand cut and spoke shaved them to the proper shape with new inserted mounting bolts. I had a feeling of great satisfaction when it all fit so nicely. I was 18.
Miss seeing your four-legged co-pilot. 😉 I like this MG with it's upgrades. I think disc brakes would suit this one perfectly as well. Save the Wave.🙋🏼♂️
Wallis. The conversion is very straightforward. Hi-gear produces an excellent bell housing for the Ford gearbox plus a new prop shaft. I am not an engineer but managed the conversion easily. In fact, it was the one part of the rebuild that went without a hitch. The car has been transformed.
Only the 1600 MK2 and the Deluxe had the 1622 motor. The 1600 Mk1 had a 1588cc motor. Also, only the 1600 MK1, 2, and the Twin Cam had disc brakes. The 1500, 1955-59 had drums all round., and a 1489cc engine. I'm in Australia as well, and I suggest you do a little research before commenting.
1:30 Public Safety Announcement. Love this, as I too am a more technical driver, partly from motorcycles back in my younger years, but mostly from my career with NYS DMV. As such, I would warn New York drivers that casual use (non-emergency, or non-DOT or Enforcement) of the cross-connector "turnaround" @2:55 would be considered illegal in New York as evidenced by the solid yellow lines. Anyway, I love the car and wish I had the good fortune to be it's lucky next owner.

what transmission is used?
Also mine you could hand crank it was the coolest thing ever never a dead battery would get me down
In Australia the MGA had the 1622 cc motor. There was also the Twin Cam 1622 cc motor. In Australia the MGA had disc breaks to the front wheels.

When I was a kid I used to go parking in mine we could drive through the woods in areas that the cops could never get to
Looking for another MGA, love to put in 5 speed, wonder how much work involved to convert
Wow nice car what gear box did you replace it with I have a 59 roadster with an MGB motor.

What kind 5 speed?
So upgraded batteries? What size are they? Thanks
From the underside picture you can see they are smaller with adaptor trays, 2- 6 v
Lol don't touch your face. Keeping a safe distance works for cars too!
Didn't watch past 0;40. ("Enjoyed" a fruitless Search for 5th gear in both of my MGAs for years and years.)
