    This is the last of the hiking videos from my North Wales 2021 series (but there are a few more non-walking focused ones still to come). Are there any hikes you think I've missed and should complete on a future visit?

    The mountain you could see is moel Siabod 👍

      Thank you Daniel. That was one that was recommended to me to hike on that trip, but a week just wasn't long enough to squeeze in everything I wanted to. Next time perhaps!

    Also the miners bridge is now back in place. Unfortunately it was washed away in floods a couple of years ago and took a year or so to be reinstated. The bridge is back in now but there are so many other beautiful walks to do around here. Cae Garw bed and breakfast is a lovely place to stay and is located 150 yards from the miners bridge :)

      Thank you Daniel. Do you have any specific walks in the area that you'd recommend. I love hiking recommendations!

    Perfect hangover telly 😂 wrapped in a duvet on a grey miserable day living vicariously through your lovely scenic walks! You are a great presenter, could easily be up there with the best of them 🙂👍I'll have to get back to North Wales soon!!

      Hi Sarah, I think you're the first person to say this is perfect hangover telly, but I'll take that as a huge win - thank you!!! 🙏 I feel your sentiments of wanting to get back to North Wales soon. I feel this need strongly too!

    The bridge was back there in March 2023. Must have been a restoration project.

      Hi SkiStig, I believe you're right, I've had a few people reply to this video since then to say the bridge is back. Need to get back up that way to see it for myself and complete the original walk!

    Staying here in September 2023 and at the ripe old age of 66 going to try some easy walks. Downside Uk is grey , raining and depressing most of the time but then we get the upside , green in abundance.

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  Рік тому

      Hi Chris, the rain and the greenery of our countryside is a mental battle I have every time it rains too 🤣🤦‍♀️ I hope the weather is nice for you, September can be a little like May (which is when I filmed this video) and sometimes it ends up being even nicer than summer! I hope when I get to 66, I'm still out and about adventuring like you!

      These directions are the ones we used for our return, but we followed different ones to initially get up there. As you said though, there are many different paths to get up there. So pleased you enjoyed watching and seeing the landscapes.

    Great video of two very pleasant walks. The mountain near Llyn Elsi is Moel Siabod. Sorry you missed the bridge but it was swept away by a flood a couple of years ago. Hopefully it will be replaced.

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  2 роки тому +1

      Oh no way, I've been thinking for almost a year that it was Snowdon! 🤣 Interestingly Moel Siabod was a hike that had been recommended to me, but I had so many recommendations we had to whittle it down to a smaller list, but this mountain is on another list for whenever we make it back to North Wales. I hope the bridge is able to be replaced too, if only just so locals can benefit from its practicality once more!

      We got lucky with the weather that week and thankfully it was just the Snowdon hike that had the terrible visibility.

    Been to Betws a number of times, but never on this particular walk with its gorgeous scenery . Anyhow, this is an excellent video, and many thanks for sharing it. I used to drive trains through the place when I was based at Llandudno Junction, and that's a nice run up to Blaenau Ffestiniog, if you ever give it a go.

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Ffranc, thank you so much for your kind words about the video, really pleased you enjoyed it. 🙏 That's so cool that you used to rive trains around there, what stunning scenery to be driving them through. We spotted the steam train after we'd hiked Snowdon (via the Rhyd Ddu path) and I thought to myself, next time we're back in Snowdonia, the steam railway should be on the bucket list!

      Hi David, I bet it's really nice in August as you get the warmer glow from the sun in the afternoons as it edges closer to autumn! I'm a bit jealous of you living in Sheffield knowing you have the Peak District virtually on your doorstep!

    Another interesting walk, especially on route to the bridge. Some lovely scenery along by the river and through the woods - shame someone had stolen it by the time you got there! 😬😂 Is nothing safe these days!!

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  3 роки тому +1

      Ahahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣 I found out after the walk that very heavy rains and flooding had taken the bridge out, I think the year before, but there were no signs letting us know before we set off. That said, you're right that the walk even without the bridge at the end was very pretty!

    I know that area well I'm from that area I did the Llyn Elsi fell race in 2001.

      Wow, you're brave for fell running! Watching people go down hill at speed scares the gerjeebers out of me, but major respect for those of you who do it. What a stunning space to race in though!

    The mountain to the North of Llyn Elsi is Moel Siabod,, near Capel Curig, Snowdon is or would be furthur west or to the left of the view?

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  2 роки тому

      Hi Duncan, thank you for this. Moel Siabod was a mountain I'd had suggested to me for a hike, but sadly we were limited with only a week's visit. But very cool to know that's what it looks like and probably one for hiking on our next visit!

    Hi, I don`t know if you learned that the Miners Bridge was washed away by the river during a storm. It has recently been replaced should you visit in the future.

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  2 роки тому

      Hi Anthony. Yeah I learnt about the bridge having been washed away after our visit - decided to Google it as I was curious. Really great to hear it's been replaced - I bet the locals are grateful for that as I imagine it's a lot more of a pain than it was for us just larking about on our jollies. An excellent excuse to return now!

      When I was there, I was trying to work out which mountain was Snowdon, but as your research has just pointed out, you can't see it as Moel Siabod blocks it 🤣 Looks like I was never going to guess it correctly! 🤦‍♀️ I also didn't know it was used to provide water to people in Betws Y Coed either!
