I placed my first order with them tonight for them tonight for the super elixir and the leaf shine conditioner. I was tired and forgot to use your code 😂😂. Plus ordered the fertilizing stuff you use on Amazon, ordered a Levoit humidifier, and those little plastic plant pins.. Hubby has put me on a ban from buying stuff for a while…
My Nana had a JOYA when I was little, which covered the wall on her covered front porch. She started it in 1947. But she passed when I was 12. My Mom took cuttings back to her house and made them into a huge bush. When she moved here to Santa Monica, she took cuttings and put them on her west-facing balcony. The leaves grew very thick but they were survivors. . I took them when she passed, and put them back on my Nana’s front porch, where I now live. I give cuttings to people I care about. They have survived all this time, with little plant food. Never seen bugs on them! Love them! Thanks for your video! haRa💜🔆‼️
Hoyas are beautiful and I love them, yes they are frustrating at times especially getting them to bloom.. the Kerri..I have 2 are obviously Mother plants you can see where they have been cut for propagation. I have an old carnosa that blooms occasionally, and a curtisi? That has bloomed 2x. There is always hope 🙏 😅
I don’t mind the prospect of a slow grower, but after several (many) months in my care I’d love to see some sign that says “I’m ok” My Hoya Rebecca has shown no growth. My Hoya Heuschkaliana has shown no growth and dropped leaves.
I have a variegated hoya heuschk that wasn’t growing-changed her to a more nutritive soil and stuck her under a grow light. She’s put out multiple leaves since and even bifurcated. You might consider increasing the lighting and/or neutrients.
🌸🌼 I have my crimson princess on a trellis because she grows super crazy everywhere and same with my pubicalix! My Hindu rope and my sunrise are still small.
Love a climbing one, and have only had mealies on Publicalyx; none of my other hoyas, even my hoya rope "Crispa". Plus for faster growth, mine love humidity but not closed environments. Super low maintenance and waiting to find a WG one this year.
Jackie just a week ago my Chicken Farm had a peducle and I watched it grow I was so excited then I went to check on Her and all the little buds just fell off 😢 DAMIT. SO at least I got to see the little buds hopefully it will bud again I love the trailing and climbing both I really don't care either way as long as it stays alive Since you got me into Hoyas I have loved all 14 plants equally ❤ 😊Love you 😊
One thing I like about Hoyas is exactly that the look untamed and wild as long as they look very healthy with enough leaves (because they get enough sun) and I always look for a strong forest fragrance
I love my Hoya. They are so funky. Wish I could enter the drawing but I can’t figure out Instagram and how to tag etc…I just don’t go there much and don’t have ‘planty’ friends who would appreciate the contest.😢
I definitely have a Hoya in the 3 leaf club for about a year now. It hasn’t died the roots are fine it’s just not growing. Until a day ago I finally saw a tiny little vine with a baby leaf. Now hopefully it will stay. Because my obavata has produced a vine with two leaves then dropped them and I didn’t even touch them. Meanwhile my Hoya Chelsea right beside her is producing a leaf with a new one on the way😅🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸💐💐💐🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
I got aphids on my crinkle 8 and crassiopeliota for the first time this past summer...no mealybugs, tho, on any hoya..had mine outside, too, so maybe that's the common denominator.
Not much of a Hoya girl but I am up to 9. The last 3 I really like heuschkeliana, villosa and Sarawak. Maybe that’s my key. Only buy the ones I really, really like. I really want gunung gading.
I got a Hoya Caudata Sumatra single leaf with an extra stem about June or July of '23. It is still a single leaf with extra stem!! It is rooted! The actual leaf may be larger than it was, but that's it!! 😮 It is near a South-facing window with most of my other hoyas!! Three feet away is my Hoya Lacunosa which has numerous peduncles in various states of bloom!😂 Go figure!!🤔🤣
Since Hoya are so slow growing and the leaves don’t crisp, droop, or drop quickly, they can get a bad pest infestation without me noticing. That’s the biggest bummer. Most plants show signs quick and early. Not Hoya. Those little buggers hide their issues until one day they just look dead all of a sudden.
What pest is attacking my Hoya that chomp on the new leaves and I can’t get rid of them. I keep spraying with sulfur and use systemic granular but they keep coming back. What is it??
Depending on the leaves I like hoya's hanging and on a trellis. I can't make up my mind on this subject. I absolutely hate flat mites. They have destroyed some of my hoya's. Love your hair.🥀🌻🌷🌺
I killed my hoya microphylla! oy. I bought it 7 months ago, beautiful and it was a slow death. so so sad. any advice for a space that gets afternoon light. west-facing window in California.
The only thing that annoys me with Hoyas are pests, yellow leaves and can be slow growing. I prefer my Hoya’s trailing i hate trellis. You can grow your Hoyas compact for those with awkward growth systems. I hate Hoya blooms only buy for what they look like. Also those vines you can always chop them back if gets too long especially with no leaves on them.
Mealies are now in control, get water color plastic brushes that are water fill able. Fill with rubbing alcohol instead. Keep with you each time you water or just checking on your plants. A quick swipe where any mealies are seen and poof gone. I may fine one or two a month now. I purchased my brushes for under 10 dollars and shared with friends.
If you're talking about Urban Gardener, It's a very small business, so I don't think you'll find them on Amazon anytime soon. The product itself isn't expensive, but shipping things properly certainly can be.
I can't really say whether I prefer climbing or trailing because I like both. It really depends on the hoya. For instance... I love my hoya lisa to trail and my variegated macrophylla to climb.

This video was so informative but fun at the same time! Would love more content like this
I'm so glad you liked it! I had a brief spark of creativity 🤣

This video is right on time-I have a basic carnosa cutting from when I first got into plants. Rooted out the *ss. Still only two leaves.😂
😂

This video is sooo relatable! Thank you!
Yay!!! You're so welcome!! 🥰

Yes a little like that at times.but we forgive them because they are such easy🌿💖
I just ordered some UG Growth Spray for my slow growing Hoya. Sure hope this UG Spray stimulates them into some new leaves, maybe flowers.
It certainly has for me!! So I have hope for you too!! 😊

I grow them both ways but I do prefer to climd, but they can be hard to tame 💚💚💚
I feel like mealy bugs thrive in drier air? I live in Houston and rarely have had/seen any on any of my plants.
Feel ya!! Those dang Hoyas 💚🌱
My hoya obovata gets aphids. I had it outside in the summer and it got aphids and again this winter inside. WHY!!!.😰

Put a personal stick humidifier right by it and it should finally take off.
I love Urban Gardner SGE!

Literally!!! I’ve had this happen a few times now and I am always surprised
Just lost my first Hoya to mealy bugs in that exact way!! It happened overnight it seemed😢

Trailing hoya 🙋♀️

🥰🥰🥰🥰
I have tons of hoya and have never dealt with mealies 🤞🤞🤞i would hate it lol
Consider yourself lucky!! 😊
What about leaf drop?
I don't experience this often! That's either a watering issue or a flat mite issue, most likely
Heyyyy 🌱🌵🌾☘️🌷
If a Hoya or any plant dies on you no matter how much you like it would you get it again or just say no
I give most plants I really love 3 chances. Then never get them again. If I can't get it after that it wasn't meant to be 😂
I hate how some of them are slow to bloom too!

Hi there!🥰🌹

Unfortunately the shipping from the main company is twice the cost of the product, I think I’ll wait until Amazon stocks up

Well they grow very slow. And I like trailing ones
The only thing that will work on flat mites is sulfur. I’m 99% sure you have them. As soon as you spray with sulfur you will see so much growth!!
