The misuse of port is irritating AF! If there is a usb mini in it implies there is something coming into the device (flashlight). Since we kniw we arent transfering data what is the point in having this 'in' port. It isnt possible to charge a phone plugging it into this mini port that has been made available. Shouldn't we assume that this port would be for charging? If not to transfer data. Or to recharge this flashlight WHY IS IT THERE AT ALL? OR AM I MISSING SONETHING HERE? does my port not work? Or is just a mock port of some kind? It would seem the Ewd Cross woukd be kore mindful about costs when something like this is being produced. Im sure this piece isnt free. Im sure it costs more to have thisbsoace keft ioen then filled in with a oart that costs money. Money that could be used for things like.... the causes the Red Cross support. I just may sacrifice my flashlight. Open it up and see if there is anything connected to this usb micro usb port. If there isnt... i think i might lose it.. . What a waste that would be. Someone help me understand please. One thing you can count on is ... i will report back with my findings! I have to take a shower and tun to the market first. But i will return with this answer!
I have the radio and flashlight one an the turn handle broke off when I was cranking it. But other than that it worked pretty good..... But can't use it no more, no crank handle.....
I just got one... it has the USB port to charge my phone but also has a micro USB port, presumably to charge an internal battery. However the micro USB port is not aligned properly with the hole. Any insight to this?
Shining a flashlight at a camera is not a good indicator of how bright it is. Couldn't have turned out the lights to actually show the brightness......weak.
Well, a flashlight in a dark room caught on a camera with its own light sensor and exposure auto adjustment might not be that good either. Hence the lumen ratings...
I cranked it for about 5 mins. As soon as I stopped the charging of the phone stopped and it did nothing for the percentage. I have to agree with you, it’s a handy little flashlight but that’s about it.
I just bought one of these today at cabela's and you have to have your phone plugged into it and you crank it when you crank it it charges your phone if you just plug it in
It does work. Smbdy bought me one. Its ONLY as a emergency phone charger...u have to crank. It will power but only as u crank therefore speakerphone is a must 🤦♂️🤣jus saying
You got to crank to get the phn to charge...so this man didnt understand how to work it...Simple Commen Sense... The bad part is that you got to crank it to see at least 1 percent to raise... But the good thing of this is...A great Exercise for your arm..I actually feel stronger...lol..and my arm muscle is bigger from all the times I crank. Lol. Its great for emergancy use...
Not sure how you draw that conclusion, Dahlia, when I literally demonstrate cranking it to ostensibly charge my phone and talk about how it works but is a lot of work...
Thank you for the review! I was looking at this product.
I had 2 of these, they both broke, they look nice, but I would avoid them again!

This will be perfect to charge my power bank in a pinch

That's odd. I'd reach out to Eton customer service to see if they have a solution, perhaps a replacement...?
Did I understand correctly that you won't be able to charge your phone with this organ grinder?
You can but it's going to be a LOT of work if you're using the hand-crank for the purpose.
I'll buy that just to escape zombies when I go to school at night
Excellent choice. And have a jar of pickled brains, just in case: You can throw it at the zombies and they'll stop to snack!
Can you do recommendations about this
I wish you'd take it apart to show the inside.
I need a crank flashlight with metal gears.
Interesting request. I don't tend to take things apart lest I can't put them back together again! :-)

THATS. HANDY 💯👍..use to. Have. 1
..handy ‼️‼️
You have to crank it while the phone is plugged in and it will charge.
Extraordinarily slowly, but yes.
@@AskDaveTaylor lol no kidding there.
I have one and in order to charge your phone you need to crank and have plugged in
My phone took a charge as long as I was cranking the flashlight 🤷♀️
Cool. How long did you last before you stopped and how much charge did your phone gain?

maybe while cranking have the phone plugged in, then it might charge
