As sweet as this all is, Brain giving Pinky a spell checker after reading his letter is a fantastic joke.
Pinky loves it regardless too
According to the voice of the Brain, Maurice LaMarche, he literally cried when he read the script for Pinky's letter. It's considered his and Rob Paulsen's (the voice of Pinky) favorite episode.
Its true. In a Watchmojo video, they confirmed it.
I can see why. I remember being kind of shocked and saddened to see The Brain actually crying.
I guess Rob Paulsen cried too for what I saw
So yeah, this is a award winning scene (yes, the special won the Emmy)
If you think about it, the Brain did actually got his wish to take over the world, it's just instead of using it for world domination, he used it to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

The brain has successfully taken over the world a few times
When I first saw this as a child, I was crying with them. That was the first time I realized about Brain does in fact have a heart and feelings and the love and care he has for his dear Pinky although often he hides it.
The wordplay of pinkie giving brain”the world”as a keychain of the earth always makes me tear up a bit
This clip is pretty much why Pinky and the Brain won a Daytime Emmy® that year. Both Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche (the voices of Pinky and the Brain, respectively) were crying when recording this scene.
