Fantastic to see all of the crew on deck, as she left! (though it must have been bladdy freezing!) 👍
Thanks for the video.
welcome
Very impressive !
Great video thank you
Some interesting currents there on the Mersey.
Took me back to the Navy Lark, does the CPO or one of them have a Tugman called Nunkey for an uncle? 🤣. Grand shots.
Should have played the leaving of Liverpool
I saw more on board in 2019/2020 than the 2024
Was there any helicopters on board within the public areas of the ship during visitors visit did anyone notice any ?
@@pdmageer no i never seen any.
POW has now trained with F35b aircraft so it can now operate them. Remember in peace time they're not bothered with how many planes they're carrying, just whatever specific mission they're doing. In war time they can fill both carriers with 24 fighters each as they're both cleared to operate them and off we go.
Why does everything have to be name after the royals
Its done to keep them relevant even when most people don't care about them at all
RN ships have well established naming policies. They may vary but are never chosen at random, or in line with some fad. These ships are not named after previous carriers, but after battleships whose names by pure coincidence referred to the current Monarch and the Heir to the Throne. Presumably the objective was to make it less difficult for a future government to cancel them, as happened to the last big strike carrier back in the 1960s, when the ship was never named, merely known by some project number and got dumped before construction had even started. In any case who would you prefer to name them after? TV celebrities? HMS Rolf Harris and HMS Jimmy Saville? Business leaders? HMS Dyson? Sports stars? HMS Hamilton and HMS Flinthoff? Or more PC choices like HMS Majid Khan? Of course there's always HMS Clarkson . Think I prefer the status quo. Hang on a minute - pop bands?????!!!!
