I agree to a degree some pups will bark till they ruin their voice . I made my first grand night champ 15 years ago . The easiest way to make a dog if u can is let the pup run free till u catch in hunting . Put it in the pen or on the chain get them focused on coons . It is the best way to train in my book because almost every put will be hunting at 6 months old . I see people go through 10 dogs before they find one that will make using different methods . I very seldom get one that won’t make sense I started doing this and I start 5 or 6 a year looking for the best . I will not sell I dog that doesn’t treed a coon I will not breed a dog if they don’t consistently and accurately tree coons . I think no coon hunter should if more did there wouldn’t be slick treeing fools and pups that don’t make . There is people that make there living breeding junk that the worst part of the sport

Most people don’t stick with coon hunting . Even good handlers they will get a dog that wins hunts and they never think they can make better
