2:45 that broke all PC gamers heart
Thank you for being the only content creator to actually show how it's installed on the motherboard. Big props to you bro
exactly/ i wasnt even sure if these worked for me @ 5v header
Gave it a like for the awesomely informative thumbnail image!
Crazy how good your content actually is compared to your views, I really enjoy watching your video’s eventhough I don’t plan on building a new PC anytime soon 😂
I remember seeing these things. That was an interesting product.
once i upgrade my pc these will be on my priorties list
great video. very helpful!
Don't forget the Halo Lux Digitals which have a higher LED count and *are* addressable. Worth the money and look great. Also come made with two color options for their anodized aluminum frames and have braided cabling.
Can I connect these to a Cooler Master 1 to 3 RGB splitter cable and and connect them to the motherboard RGB header?
Do i need a phantex case or motherboard? or will this work on my MSI Z170A GAMING M5 for example?
Thanks for this review! I was looking for a quality RGB solution for my bequiet fans. I didn’t want to drop money on the Corsair RGB fans when I am content with the sound and performance of my current fans.
Did these fit on your be quiet fans?
@@208offroad yes fit perfectly fine!
@@ZayasRaymond1 Silent wing 3 by any chance ?
@@208offroad yeah I have those same fans, I had more issues with my case not providing enough clearance for me to install it on one for the fans, but they installed easily and look great.
Congrats on 25k!
haha thanks, still need 8 though :P
Oh wait I see now haha took some time to update. Thanks for the support man :D
@@WeDoTech What software are you using for the animated computer wallpaper in the background? Looks awesome!
If I disassemble it. Take the rgb part out. Is that white part hard plastic or just soft wire
Awesome review!
Thanks man 😁
How do these do long term? I've had them for a few months and the color slowly degraded, getting yellower over time.
Is it possible to remove the plastic covering to spray it white ?
I know the effect is best with white blades. but still would've like to see an impression of how it looks on black (or noctua brown) blades :( Most preinstalled fans are black...
Yeah this felt like quite the cheat using them on white/clear fan blades which only come on RGB fans already. The use case the product is clearly designed for is people without RGB fans, which are always black blades
Can you screw em on a fan that's mounted on a CPU heatsink?
Shame to ask but can i mount the frame on rysen 3600 cpu stock fun?
Great man :)
Can I use them on high static pressure fans?
What is the model of your case please?
I think these look really awesome on white fans.
Are those Arctic fans that you used the Halos frames on?
They have a Halo Digital RGB version. Digital = adressable RGB, so that an option as long as your motherboard had an adressable (digital) RGB header or you have a separate ARGB controller.
I don't really get why people would pay a premium for DRGB over RGB. If it's same price ok, but like don't most people end up just setting everything to static colors anyway? The rainbow effect looks like someone puked after eating a bunch of candy, or at best, some sort of gay pride party at a dance club.
Is the splitter required I bought one and plugged it into my MB RGB header and it didn’t work
can you put these on cpu coolers? maybe even gpu fans?
So how do you actually connect them?
How do they look on black fans?
Thanks, will be keeping my eye out for them at Rebel tech or Evetech here in SA.
Wootware
RIP rebeltech
how many of these can i daisy chain from 1 12v socket?
What happens if i conect this directly to a 12v rgb header of the motherboard? it will destroy the frame right?
So are these compatible with any standard fans
I can’t find my fan connectors or the rgb ones please help
He has Corsair LL RGB fans
*_Puts RGB fan frames on them_*
rip englando
Just a demo man, dont take it so hard lol
@@maddawgzzzz its a joke :DD
i bought a phanteks enthoo pro m tempered glass case, which cane with 2 rgb fans in the front, there is only one rgb connector and it doesn’t reach anywhere near the rgb header on my motherboard.. anyone else have this same problem?
How long is the cable?
are these 5v adressable or 12v?
ncie video dude ! But what should i do that i don't have rgb motherboard ?
A dedicated RGB controller with its own software will do the trick.
What happens if you put with with already lit RGB fans(mid led zone)? And what the difference of the Lux model both are addressable 5v 3-pin?
the lux is out of metal and not plastic. i'm late a year though so i guess you already know it
There are argb versions
Any chance you have a link for the adapter you used 3 years ago? Lol
what table is that>?
Ikea Linnmon table top with ikea risers on the drawers from ikea :P
would these work on a motherboard without rgb header, i have a Q77 motherboard and i want to install these to my non rgb fans?
you need the RGB header unfortunately
Which corsair fan model are this? (that you instal the halos) thanks
its the LL series. You can check I also made review on them.
We Do Tech on the ml 120 pro led WHITE it's possible to turn of the led? Or always its on when the fan is running? Thanks
Does it connect to a 12V 4pin or a 5v 3pin header?
Yeah I have been looking everywhere for the answer to this does anybody know??
@@rokko21109 depends on the version you get. The digital ones connect to 5V. The others connect to 12
Can i daisy chain 3x120 of these to my motherboard using a splitter? My Mobo rating is max of 2A
if you have a phanteks case I think you can wire them straight into that.
@@fuzzball297 Already bought it and installed it . My frame rate increased up to 10%.
I know I’m late, but do you have a link to a adapter that links together all of these cords? I just bought these yet I don’t know how to connect them
You ever figure it out, Nolan?
@@leonidasmurillo407 should be a planteks adapter on Amazon you can buy. Seem pretty scummy that the company don’t say that in the description
hey where can i get noctua fans
Amazon will probably be your best bet I think.
I havent rgb header
Thanks. Gonna grab noctuas and tag these on them.
Did you ever did that? how did they look ?
How did they go? I have a bunch of halos on the way for my chromax fans
Does it work on black fan
Yes. It just looks a little different than a whit fan,
in the philippines it cost $20.
rgb fan here just cost $5 to $10.
That fan will probably die within a year and sound like a jet engine during its limited lifespan.
Dumb question..... I love be quiet! fans, and they only come in black. I love their quality and how quiet they are so I want to stick with them. Has anyone tried using these frames with black Fans? Hows the glow?
It still looks good, but different from lighter colored fans. This guy tests the halos on a bunch of different fans, a few black ones too. ua-cam.com/video/kbA32mpTNCM/v-deo.html
Can I use those RGB Frames on my Asrock Z370 Taichi? I suppose I can.
It comes with one 4pin RGB header, and there's the ASRGBLED program to take control. I hope this will work :)
Just an idea...but if...you have high performing fans...just buy the Corsair series fans and switch the frame of the Corsair onto your high performing fans
Or save 15$ and don't reduce the Fans performance and buy the Halos
Good video but I kept thinking that you should do Thor's voice in a marvel animated feature. To me Mjölnir!!
10 bucks per ring gim has a kit of 5 fans with controller for 40
Just use a pwm spliter
RGB Noctuas
what is your background?
Good thing my Asus RX 570 has those headers so i could use this.
damn
This is specifically made for noctua fans to mask their ugliness :P
@@anonymus277 Nope. It should be wear by your deformed face too :)
Lmao fighting over LED Fans, what a beautiful sight.
@@fckinnonstick9919
Eh, just ignore them. They are probably looking for attention.
More expensive than rgb fan
or noctua
No digital rgb leds.... no rgb wave. Dealbreaker for me
Newest Version of this Product is actually Digital RGB (individually adressable, have it right next to me in my build since a month).
Look for "Halos Lux Digital RGB - Digital RGB Frame" on the box and model numbers ph-ff120drgba, ph-ff140drgba (notice the drgb) when buying online so you dont mistakenly order old non-digital Halos.
Lex Neminis Don't you need a Digital Controller Hub from Phanteks for the Digital Halos to work? I mean, for the regular Halos you have to buy a separate rgb-led adapter for it to work with a compatible motherboard, but I read the digital versions require a different adapter, yet where can it be bought? The description on their site leaves something to be desired as well.
I have bought 2 Digital RGB Halos Lux (aluminum frame), each came with an extra simple cable for connecting Phanteks' (proprietary i think) rgb 3-pin plug to a 3 pin Motherboard Header. I am using one of those cables to connect my two halos lux (daisychained together, the halos cable have a 'split', you can see it barely at 2:41 dangling below his hand) to my asus b350-i motherboards ADD_Header. As far as I know, those motherboard-connection cables are absent from the non-lux versions.
With Asus Aura software I can control lighnting modes where not all LEDs on the halos have the same color. I can for example emulate the famed Rainbow gradient circle that this video shows in the background ( without using LL fans with corsairs hub and cable mess). Or have the circle fill up with one color from 0 to 360 dgeree and back in another control mode. Both of my 2 halos circles mimic each other.
If you go to the phanteks webpage /DRGB dot html and check product pictures you'll see that the plastic version does NOT contain the so called "M/B ADAPTER: Digital RGB adapter 3pin (+5V, Data,NA,GND)". Its appearently not available for individual purchase and only bundled with Digital Halos Lux and the "DIGITAL RGB LED COMBO KIT" with 2 strips. So if you don't plan on buying the DRGB Hub (included in "DIGITAL RGB LED STARTER KIT"), the plastic DRGB Halos are pointless as you cant connect them properly alone. Need the aluminum DRGB Halos Lux versions WITH the cable included then.
Agree, their site and product descriptions are lacking.

HWZITGONGERYody :D
how would they ever deliver the rgb in one cable? i dont think you thought this true, phanteks dont make the fans that they attach to, so how would they just magically not have a cable, the fan manufacturers have to have atleast one cable for connecting to the motherboard or controller, and the fan frames have to have atleast one connection to something in order to be powered, the fan frames cant come preconnected to every fan on the market? that is impossible, what do you expect phanteks to do? they have to have atleast one cable, and a fan has to have atleast one cable. its literally impossible to just have one cable for both as they dont come together and wired together.
All I'm saying to this comment is, WOW.
Can barely comprehend what you're trying to say.
This guy is making perfect sense. The other comments are dumb asf. You need one cable to connect to the RGB header, and one to connect the fan. Period. There's no way to reduce it to 1 cable.
@@gtfafm1036 lol what dude. There's many things thought impossible years ago that we do today.
