You must have a gift with birds. It is very hard to get one to take food from your hand. I have only managed once. One out of a family of 12 that would wait at the front door with all the other wild birds to be fed, it would fly directly at my face at high speed as soon as I opened the front door (who needs coffee in the morning to wake up when I had this little beggar) and one foot from my face suddenly stop and do a helicopter drop to the ground at my feet. From there it was easy to get it to hop onto my hand for the food. Eventually it would land directly on my hand. Then one day the whole family didn’t show up and never came back. Other Noisy Miners have moved in and some come to me to have food thrown to them but none come very close.
Thanks Graham🙏 Not a gift, just a patience and time. Covid lockdowns helped too 😂😂😂. We have been ignored by these little beauties...a lot 😂😂😂 but eventually, we earned their trust. You are right, they usually fly directly towards us then suddenly stop and drop to the ground. They are really fast.
This is a beautiful video. One of country houses I sometimes visit is full of trees, bushes and birds feeders, and all kind of birds I only managed get close to a baby noisy miner, who somehow was not afraid of me.😊
Thank you! Aww, baby noisy miners are so cute. You were lucky to get close to a chick since noisy miners are one of the shyest birds. It's hard to get close to them.👍
@@hungrybirds_aus he wondered into the house! I think I have a video of that event on u tube. Where we currently go most of the times not many trees but they come and sit on the verandah. The minute my car is in the driveway we have magpies and doves. The cockatoos use to come, but they were ripping off the paint on the upper balcony so I do not leave birds food there anymore. Looking forward for a wonderfull spring and summer weekends in the country 😊❤️
@@annak3592 Thanks for sharing such a beautiful experience. Let me find the video! Yes, magpies and doves are very friendly, especially doves - they can get domesticated very quickly! Aghh..the cockatoos!!! They are cute but so destructive! 😂Hope you have a great spring and summer with the friendly birds around.🥰❤
Steamed cauliflower and broccoli, grated carrot, cooked peas, definitely cooked corn above all else if squished. Diced fine grapes, apple, pear, basil, Lettuce, kiwi fruit. Watermelon, mango, bananas. Cooked rice, even tiny pieces of cooked chicken. Best commercial mix is wombaroo lorikeet & honeyeater mix, which was tested and developed on a flock of noisy miners afaik. Always clean containers and fresh food daily or more often if hot weather cos the food can curdle.

What do you feed them?
All they would eat from our hands or bird feeders was rolled oats.
