Weidman didn't accidentally poke Silva 3 times, he deliberately poked him 4 times..
Watch the fight again. Weidman poked his opponent FOUR times. Once with both hands in BOTH of his eyes, where he fell down and considered “finished”, even when taking NO damage. The whole thing was trash, as was the ref, athletic conference, AND commentators. Spineless!! Shame!!
was so disappointed in Wideman, after all this time, he should know better.
The last one or two... don't count if the ref don't see it bud.

I’ve been watching since UFC 1 sometime after I joined the Army. Not a good look. Hoping Dana will have a spine and some conviction and fix these mistakes and war against this kind of trash. Fire someone if you have to. Weidman’s opponent should get PAID (I think he did??? Maybe?) and Weidman should be released. Maybe not fired because of his legacy, but released. Amicably, but as a direct result of this flagrant violation.
And these new gloves are ready for UFC 300!?!? Perfect timing!!! Chama!!

I'm sure it wasn't intentionally... happens by accident all the time. Their adrenaline is high and they're not thinking "keep my hands closed" at all times.
Let's clear this up: you ACCIDENTALLY do something once, maybe twice. When you do the same foul three times, it is ON PURPOSE.
When I was briefly a kickboxer in early 80s. We had boxing gloves with a slot for the thumb , fighters at times were thumbed during the fights. Outcries were heard, it took a while but the industry realized a change was a must. There is no longer an issue of boxers and kickboxers being thumbed in the eyes.

Uh, have we forgotten about Tony Ferguson's undefeated chin before facing Gaethje? Have we forgotten the size and power difference between Max and Gaethje? Have we forgotten why his originally scheduled fight date against Brian Ortega was postponed five or six months? And Gaethje "just throwing massive bombs?" really? I think Gaethje's boxing is being underrated if nothing else, not to mention his leg kicks. I love both these guys but really fear for Max.
Even Justin said max walks around bigger then him.. Max is a big boy just cuts Alot and gets in really good shape. Dustin and Alot of other 155lb fighters use to fight at 145lb.. Max's is faster and one of the best boxers in the UFC max has great cardio Justin gets tired. I don't understand why people would count max out. It's going to be the best fight on the card in my opinion. It's 50/50 for me

The Dustin that Justin fought is different than the one max fought. Love max but agree, max could not be the same after this. Hope not though. Love to see either guy win.

Fear not my friend, I seen Max yesterday.. He looks like a different man, put on a bunch of muscle. I think they have the betting line backwards, I think Max wins and makes it look easy..
Yeah i dont no why people are counting max out.. people think Justin is alot bigger then max but hes not even Justin said maxs walks around bigger then him.. has crazy cardio one of the best strikers in MMA. Its 50/50 for me.

Ofc BUT the way the ufc gloves are made def force ur fingers open compared to closing then like the pride gloves. There’s an entire joe Rogan podcast episode that visually show u the differences with Justin Gaethje and Trevor Whitman. U do not own four pairs of ufc 5 oz gloves. Every mma fighter knows I’m right
@Mahhhdeee same here. I've been in MMA, Mauy Thai and boxing for almost 20 years. And I've seen the podcast. Let's just agree to disagree... the problem is cheating and some people will always find a way to cheat. There's very very few "accidental eye pokes".

If I was Stricklin I would be pissed off that I’m not getting a rematch right away he actually won that fight most people I talk to said the same thing. It must suck losing when you actually won especially when you are the champ. I wouldn’t fight anybody except the champ if I was Strickland
Of course, it's the gloves,just look at other promotions and the lack of eye pokes in the other organizations' fights.Sometimes the UFC will not recognize the obvious.
If you hit an eye poke with close type gloves....that's deliberate. Pretty simple way to find the cheats.
