If this guy ever got dialed in especially his back he would have been untouchable. He didn’t win much but from an eye test he stood out above everyone else. He was a true freak.

A friend of mine worked at Golds for an entire summer in 1996. He never saw Dillett train with anything but absurdly light weights. It's quite interesting there is only one short segment here where he actually pushes proper weight...

Dillet was the best Bodybuilder I ever saw.
Dillet never won an Olympia because his presentation on stage was simply non existent.
    It's really simple.
No structured posing routine & no pose holds.
Dillet relied on 1 second poses with NO real transitions from one pose to the next resulting
in him looking just plain awkward.
The best posers of all time in order of actual skill are as follows:
    1.Ed Corney,
    2.Kai Green
    3.Melvin Anthony
    4.Frank Zane
    5.Arnold Swarchznegger
Bodybuilding is not just about muscle size.
Its an artform in its own right.
The best Bodybuilders are stage artists.
Mass monsters are not stage artists -
they are just there for the shock factor.
Sheer mass, sheer density, sheer size,
sheer conditioning and sheer muscle separation will always allow them to win pro shows.
That's what the judging criteria is all about.
    Mass monsters are as follows:
    Coleman, Dillet, Kovacs, Yates, Ferrigno,
    Ruhl, Schleirkamp etc
    You get the picture folks.
    Incidentally, Dillet looks skinny now.
He had the best genetic response to the
cocktail of Roids he was using.
Combined with super hard training with moderate weights and an
excellent diet completed with plenty of good rest between workouts ensured he was a beast.
But he was NOT a stage artist.
He was an amazing Bodybuilder though.
Professional Open Bodybuilding would be more popular if it was more artistic.
The classic division is cool, but the open division needs more artistic athletes on stage.

He use to play football, so he had a great base to start from. Ronnie Coleman played Football too. Still Great genetics! He had everything!. All Paul needed was to bring up his back (backs win shows) and dialed in his conditioning and posing. One of the biggest what ifs in Pro Bodybuilding

    • @fistoftulkas7335
      @fistoftulkas7335 3 роки тому +1

Unfortunately football messed Dillett up, he had knees and shoulders injuries from the start, for example his rotator cuffs were basically shot from the go.
Had multiple surgeries during his pro's career, like in 1995. Also one of the reasons why he always had trouble training and feeling his back's muscles.
