The grip tight action kit only holds the phone horizontally. The Bluetooth shutter release doesn’t pair easily with iPhone 12. It immediately gets disconnected when you go out of the Bluetooth menu
HELP! So I bought the Joby Gorillapod 5k Kit, which I wanted to use with my DSLR and iPhone. Which I now realize doesn't work with iPhone, anyone know which attachment I need to use for both?? Hoping this didn't go completely wasted, don't want to use multiple tripods when travelling!
just buy a clamp ... theres so many, even on ebay for 1 dollar, its just a phone clamp with the normal 1/4 mounting thing... all ebay tripods come with it. just attach it where you attach the camera.
Bought GorillaPod 1K kit smart today from best buy. Very disappointed with the vertical grip. Horizontal grip is reasonable. Your phone will definitely slide and drop while the position is vertical. Phone mount comes with the GorillaPod. Very disappointed with the gripping capability. The GorillaPod itself is sturdy, multifunctional and multi directional. If you have digital camera then you can fix it with the pod by screwing. My purpose of the purchase was mobile photography and videography as well as travel vlogging. But very first time my iPhone 11 Pro slipped and screen is cracked with dents in the body. What else should I say ??!!! If you have DSLR camera then it’s okay otherwise FOR PHONE it’s a BIG NO.
I bought a no-brand shitty version from TK Maxx today. The phone gradually slid down in the clamps when in the portrait aspect. Finding a way to increase the friction is surely easy for both you and me. Good luck. Edit; I reckon that a thick elastic band could solve our problem. Some kind of degreaser, (that's friendly with the mount's materials), would help too, I think.
@joby So I have some questions. Is the Gorilla Pod stand pro you're showing at 5:45 the same as the $64.99 on the site & can you put a Go pro on it as well like the action kit? Cuz the ring at the head is black not red. Also neither the action kit or magnetic impulse set the phone vertical only horizontal?
