Hi, from Japan. Yes, I love cars. Now, many Japanese people think having a German car is how cool and show people how rich they are. Actually, we can buy same or better quality of Japanese cars with less budget. I always struggle to think whether it would be worth to pay extra money to get German car badges or not. Oops, I remember now. I don’t have this much money. I don’t need to worry about it anymore. Yes!!
Japanese cars build cheaper and they r rust buckets. Body panels made put of cheap materials. They just copy German manufacturers. Interior is like 1800
Great review. Nailed it. I helped a friend out of a Q3 into a GV70 and she couldn't be happier. She complained about how lifeless the Q3 was and couldn't belive how great the GV70 was in comparison for the same price.
Except nothing in this video was a proper review of the Q3. 80% of the video was just pointless comparison to a Macan which is not even in the same segment and space. Go watch other better reviews and you will see where the difference in value or not so much value is.
It’s my DD and I love it! Love the styling, the wide fender flares/hips, love the buttons/switches, love the smallish stance, love that it runs on regular gas, and I don’t really notice any lag. I drive in dynamic mode…
My aunt has a 2018 Q5. Everything you say about the lazy throttle response in this Q3 could be applied to that Q5 as well. It does mar the driving experience in my eyes.
“It’s like a Golf” best compliment cause I love my Golf. Also love my Q3 it’s not as fast as a Porsche and that’s ok. Yes the Q3 is expensive I bought mine for half the price used looks and feels like new. I find the Q3 nibble and fun to drive.
Q3 owner here from Canada. Strange, why is this so expensive down there? Mine is a mid-trim + black optics + s-line and comes out to $49k CAD pre-tax, which is about $37k US equivalent.
My wife currently owns a Q3 S-Line and everything you said is spot on. The reason the engine/transmission package will never be what it should be is the Q5 (which we owned prior to the Q3). If they gave it the power it needed it would be too close to the Q5 and the only thing the extra money for the Q5 would get you is size. For that reason Audi will never make the Q3 what it should be.
Also the q3 somehow feels a little more German except the engine sound. The speakers are very good for audi speaker and q3 . The rims and tire size is good too and the 48k or 42k you pay vs genesis will show its differences in long turn such as Quattro saving the day or the slow to react sensors somehow magically impress you,. Except the occasional back up sensor that breaks so hard when not even a car in its direction. In my opinion the back up camera and sensor should do the same thing as front collision effect
We just had our Audi A4 written off and have a 2024 Q3 on the way. We have made this decision as we wanted an SUV that only required regular fuel as with the A4 and my '21 GTI we need premium which here in Canada is about 30 cents a litre more which mounts up over time. Also wanted a real dipstick and proper spare tire. Not worried about the lag as we are used to the GTI Tiptronic and the planned passing becomes easier as you get used to it. Highway fuel economy in Imperial is 39 mp/g according to government economy sites. Not as important maybe but we like the sport seats a lot as well as the simple design of the dash and gauges. If you have to live with something day to day, the speedometer /tach in the BOW sucks as does the lack of a proper spare, Mercedes has the cheap air ducts so like the simple and clean design.
@12:20 well it is an old turbo It's the same 1.8T 4 cylinder that was in my 2004 audi a4 sport package back then with 200hp . Just leased this and also a q5 45 261 hp that q5 is a beast monster and I only got it because I couldn't find a dsg golf r mk8 here in Los Angeles. I'm so happy with my q5 and how there is no delay somehow in comfort mode it rapes from 0 to 150 . The bang and olufson sound system in my 2019 A5 sline was had an option to raise Bluetooth volume higher and louder than standard which is another reason I love audi, but this 2022 q5 with the same system doesn't have the Bluetooth volume control panel . I'm thinking it's because lots of them started having noises from the massiveness of the volume.
so how much more for a sun roof? Did that back seat fold down totally flat or slight angle? I like the way you guys personify the cars you review, as in, "...then it thinks..."
The garage door comment was classic. I’m a little bummed as I thought a Q3 might be worth taking my wife to look at. I can be bored while driving for far less money.
Contrary to what most negative viewers said here, I think you guys did a great review on Q3. I really like the Q3 exterior and its subcompact size, but once I test drove it, the engine/transmission feels/sounds like struggling. I wish Audi brings over the sporty version SQ3 or RS Q3 to US. I ended up getting the S3 which feels and sounds great (coming from GLA45).

Great review as usual! Have always liked Audi's design language especially now the Q8 in their SUV lineup, but Audi's spotty reliability issues have been a problem for me. Would take the Lexus NX over this.
@@anthonyfarnan5935 ....no? Styling is subjective, but this just looks like a bloated and stretched A3 avante S-line. Or worse: aside from the grille it doesn't look any different to the VW Tiguan. The biggest strength of the A3 styling is that the new headlights and body molding help it hide the rounded profile edges that Audi products have (and also that you can get the S3 and RS3 instead). When they put it in SUV form you're reminded of it again. The CX-5, even before the 2022 refresh, is well sculpted and unique and elegant (and the term "bloated" does not apply, without question). There's a reason why most car reviewers love the Mazda styling right now, and that Mazda owners get giddy and look back at their cars regardless of if it's a Miata or a Mazda3 or any of the SUVs: it's because it's actually good. But even if the Audi styling appeals to you more, is it worth the extra cost? The Mazda still has better reliability, better handling, significantly more torque (with the same HP on regular gas, but also more HP if you put premium in the Mazda), and better fuel economy using a transmission with less gears. Not only that, but we are dealing with a FULLY LOADED CX-5 at the price of the Audi: leather interior, heated seats and steering wheel, ventilated seats, memory seating and mirrors, 360 cam, wireless charging, etc. If you add features to the Audi to match what the CX-5 has you're looking at MSRP of +5k more.

15:53 and just a lot of nagging about "power".. probably 20 times you nag about "power". An Audi Q3 is hardly a car you buy if you want a lot of horsepower? Why not tell us how the chairs feel? or how the car's petrol consumption in these days with high fuel costs. Sorry guys, lousy review.
For $48,000, you could get a FULLY loaded out CX-5, which is larger, more capable, has more features, and has better dynamics. I think Mazda's line up is very compelling in this market, especially as they've increased the luxury feel of the interior (and offer the amazing soul red paint).
The Q3 isn't a Macan competitor. Get that notion out of your head. The Q5 is a Macan competitor. Porsche doesn't bother with this segment. Just because something is German, doesn't mean Porsche has an answer for it.
