Fantastic review and loved hearing your specific thoughts on some characters and themes that stuck out to you. I can’t wait to sit down and chat with you guys. My favorite thing about the discussions so far I think has just been figuring out the different aspects that stick out and resonate with each of us. There is so much going on in this world and it seems that different storylines seem to strike a chord with different readers. Great job man!

It was a great succint review. You expressed the emotional weight of the book nicely. MOI is really such a great book and so many things happen. The seige of Capustan is one of the best set pieces I have read.
The sacrifice of Itkovian was so moving, and you were right. Erickson deliberately put it there to show that to do the right thing, there is no time. When you see something wrong, you act on it, irrespective of whether it is inconvenient or not. You also caught the connection with Heboric nicely.
Dragnipur is its own warren, but inside that is the gate of the warren of Darkness on the cart, which is being chased by chaos. To protect that, more souls are required to keep pulling the cart.
Waiting for the spoiler discussion chat.

Thanks, Sourav! You’re absolutely correct and the way Erikson inserts the theme of morality in there is very well done. Discussion coming as soon as the others catch up, hopefully soon 🤞🏽

This book tackles so many notable events. The origins of the BB, the liberation of Buke, the reluctance of Gruntle, the tragedy of Toc the Younger, Itkovian's backstory, and so much more. Other authors would have written this book into 60 standalones but Erikson jampacked it into one.

It takes some serious skill to be able to pack all that into one riveting book. His prose definitely helps the delivery to not seem rushed. Such great work, thanks for watching 🤘🏽

    possible spoiler...
Quick Ben has access to as many warrens as spirits/souls within him. Beauchalain makes a comment about him using six warrens and he answers back that he only used half of them...

@@bardsandbooks I think his backstory comes out in a later book, but I can't remember which one. He's definitely a one man wrecking machine.

Felisin hates everyone and everything around her. So far, it's her.
