The allusions to Byzantium are unmistakable - The Greek cross on the solid gold bell, The monks creating mosaics, etc.

mike18xx- totally agree with ya there- the ginormous solid gold bell falling in the ocean and floating like styrofoam was amazing. Totally not what I was expecting. This movie went a little too far beyond my capacity for "suspension of disbelief".
