That's so painful..x.x Same as dying right when Bahamut is ready. "Well okay then, I only spent like 2 1/2 minutes setting this up, you may as well just leave me lying here, I don't wanna live anymore" is what I usually feel then.
Also, the "Virus is for dps, not mechanics". I had a macro back in Neo that was basically "Accidently used Virus for dps, next Almagest is gonna hurt, sorry healers!"
Your rotation looks like you're pointing your finger at the enemy most of the time like you're in an ace attorney trial.

Bahamut is shy, he only comes out every 2 minutes or so, but when he does is the highlight of every Summoner's day.

A true friend will face down a literal calamity just so you can summon your slightly smaller calamity to shoot its giant dragon space laser at it.

im one of those who lvls everything and tries to learn how to optimize them, took one look at smn optimization and went to find a gun to shoot myself

Good thing I only got MCH, BRD and MNK left for physical dps, so SMN is my last caster. After that, it's time for the true end-game: Glamour everything.
So I've nearly got SMN to 60. Put it off a little bit to level my crafters all to 60. Now I'm faced with a dilemma... What do I glam my book with...?

Square: You get Egis and not actual summons like in XI.
Also Square: You get Bahamut in Stormblood and Phoenix in Shadowbringers EXACTLY like you wanted, but still fuck your Egis.
Also Also Square: You get Egi Glamours......but they're only carbuncles.

It’s been 3 years but that no commends hurt. I remember a time where the healer and other dps died and the tank was almost at death’s door. I swift casted raise and healed the tank til I was out of mana. Saved the run but still no commends...

I like the part when you summoned Bahamut.
Also it feels weird to remember a time where Summoner had buttons.
We got Bahamut, Neo Bahamut, Bahamut Zero, Bahamut Classic, Bahamut Automata, Sea of Bahamut, Metal Gear Bahamut, Diabahamut, and the long awaited Bahamut Hearts 3.

So cool to see Basically, Summoner 2! Somehow randomly coming across Basically Summoner was actually what inspired me to look into my first major MMORPG and play FFXIV (mostly because I wanted that awesome book). 6 months on, I'm the proud owner of a Mimesis Lux, and and am progging O8S as SMN main!
This makes me smile. A young summoner child, I would look at you and think "someday." You are my inspiration, Larree.

I felt like a bloody hero on Sigma V1 when both tanks got warped and both healers died then I was tanking the boss and managed to raise both healers with my last dying breath, thus saving the raid.

Wait, can Titan actually tank high end bosses. Never realized Titan + Diversion/Refresh can be a thing.
I can't edit posts on mobile but the above was a question.
I managed to tank Ifrit Ex for the first 2 phases with Titan but we had to be careful. If you go full dps, Titan cant do anything.
If both tanks suddenly die in a raid, popping Titan wont do much since party aggro will be too high

I've been in a Pug Rabanastre raid where I had three RDMs in my party. We were of course on everybody's favorite tower-raising, raid breaking asshole when all but me, (NIN) our tank and one RDM in our alliance was dead. That RDM left the majority of our group dead and if it hadn't been for a healer from another alliance, we wouldn't have had the DPS to pop our own sand sphere.
I've also been in another raid with three more RDMs and we were dead except for one. RDM raises me instead of the healer or another RDM. That was awfully generous yet confusing.
That sped-up battle theme was awesome.

Ahh, I remember watching this around the time I started playing long-term. I chose Archanist for Summoner because I love having things fight with me, (I didn't touch the game for an entire year after 1 day of playing the demo in 2017 because I had no idea what I was doing) and I was so excited to get Dreadwyrm Trance so I could use it to summon a Carbuncle mount (1:46). You don't understand just how sad I was when I found out that wasn't how it worked man, but I love to look back at my noob days of FFXIV and laugh at how gullible I was lmfao

I read someone talking about changing SCH Aether.
How would you feel about Aether mechanics being cut from the Summoner Kit and traded for a second primal rotation? I mean, no longer having Energy Drain/Syphon, Fester and maybe Painflare(could it be upgraded into something else?).
Say, Ifrit-Titan-Garuda working for Bahamuth demi, and Phoenix granting Ramuh-Leviathan-Shiva. Maybe they could bring back the DOT damage element people always miss from older smn.
Also, if we could do away with the currently pointless Physick, I personally would love for Carbuncle, if not transformed, granting additional heal/dmg or something like the SCH fairy does if it's left on it's own, so we could have carbuncle animations back. It would be a single heal focused on you for soloing/auto attacking whatever you're hiting rn, and do away with physick.
Now I wanna go back to SMN, tried RDM and though its awesome I just miss my pet and dots 😍

I’m actually new to smn! I’ve only been playing it for a month so far but I love it! From wat I’m told by a friend who also plays smn too much spell speed is trouble! Got any advice how I can work around that til I get better gear? Love ur vids btw
Alisha Ballard are you lvl 70? :o if not, don't worry about stats at all and just go for highest ilvl gear. Once you're 70 you can play around with swapping around gear to minimize spellspeed, but other than that there's nothing much in the rotation that you could change to work around it. It's just kinda there to ruin your dps haha

Go for ilvl while just avoiding the caster gear that has spellspeed as much as possible. You can farm Creation tomes or do Deltascape savage (if you can find competent farm parties) for 340 gear with no spellspeed. Also, you can simultaneously cap your weekly Mendacity tomes and do Sigmascape story mode for ilvl 350-360 gear.

So
I just finished leveling my Summoner the other day.
I have no idea what I'm doing with it, but it's fun and it melts things. Plus hitting things with Death Flare and Bahamut, just doing his thing, is highly satisfying. Especially when they die from it.
Plus the Job quests where pretty neat, so all and all I enjoy Summoner now. (currently working on Ninja now and you have NO IDEA how much of a let down it is to see that stupid frog when coming off Bahamut.)
Oh God, I cry every time I accidentally use aetherflow when I already have aether stacks!

If you are using the aetherflow when you have full stacks, you are a scholar. That's why they level up both. Switch your job to sch and energy drain you'll be fine u.u
So it's a stand user class
To this day, Summoners stil havent get the Midgarsormr aura that dragoons get.
1 prayer = 1 Dragoon kindly giving his aura to a Summoner because he doesnt need it to exerce his real job which is to die.
(Also as a dragoon main converting to Summoner, I still think the SummonerDong is not spiky enough pls send help)
Dragoon is better because it becomes the dragon, it doesn´t need to call a dragon to the fighting for it. Plus, Dragoons don´t die as often now thanks to the animations shortening...They now just die as frequently as any other job. Red Mage has accepted that baton pass as the new glorified, red carpet for everyone to step on, sadly.
plus samurai as the new lolbaka as well as lolrdm. Plus i have seen more summoners die before dragoons.

As a smn main I relate to this to much
At your projected summoner dong size for the 3rd set, there would be severe clipping issues, so expecting an even bigger dong is a bit much.
But well when the dong size matters I would've designed the summoner dong to be a pair of crystalline horn at the size of first set. Too bad that I can't model it, and I was supposed to be a multimedia college student... (orz)
Maybe in next expansion you can summon Shinryu next. Maybe.
