People need to stop calling her delusional. This was all very calculated and deliberate. She also gamed the Au tax system by making her journey to the olympics part of her 'breakdancing thesis' to get tax funding for her expenses (it's very expensive to attend qualifying events in Au since breakdancing isn't a sponsored sport here). She also IMMEDIATELY jumped on tv shows and media deals that were throwing bags of cash at her after all this and started pushing the 'sexism' narrative along with her coach to divert attention from the corruption. This whole 'Shitegun' thing broke me. I was down in Sydney before the Olympics and shot video with dancers near the expo center. Hands down every single dancer there would have been better than her. I have no idea how this happened. Just a total embarrassment for our country.
Please add to UA-cam, people need to see that Australia does have talent, Girls as well as Boys. I only watch these videos now to see the actual talent that Australia has. Jesus Christ, Lady. They didn't have "resources" in the hood when it was born. They had an empty piece of sidewalk, some cardboard to break on, and a boom box.

At 3:38 the person speaking is Crazy Legs. Crazy legs is one of the founders of breaking one of the original break dancers from the Bronx. He invented the move known as the windmill. Many of the moves done now were invented by him. I used to watch him dance in the early 80 with Rock Steady Crew. He is the authority on breaking. The worst thing about Raygun is she’s never on beat. She’s never on the one.
The real truth is the age gap between her and the other teenagers and young people in the room. Omg its like a soccer mom rolling into your frat party and doing beer bongs and taken upstairs by the football team
Age has nothing to do with this, there were older breakdancers. She has no strength, break dancing requires a lot of training, anyone who has done a bit of calisthenics can understand that the movements and freezes are no joke. The issue of Raygun is that she didn’t train hard, this creativity bullshit is always the excuse of lazy people to avoid doing the hard work
I AM ACTUALLY SICKENED BY HER. I'm not a dancer but I am a professional horse rider and I know how it feels to devote your life to something and be beaten wrongfully by no talent grubs playing politics and favours. I can only imagine how countless talented young Aussie dancers must have felt watching this grub take not just an undeserved Olympic spot but all the limelight and publicity she does not deserve away from those that actually earned it
If my grandmother was breakdancing, she would at least have 50 years of experience that I hope would shine through. What makes me mad about this is the World DanceSport Federation ranking her as #1 breakdancer in the world but not considering her performance in the Olympics as part of that score. They scored her according to participation in only certain events. It’s as if their only objective was to invalidate breakdancing’s street cred. If they judged ballroom dancing the same way, I bet a lot of people in that world would be upset. And for those of you who are here only to say get over it, why are YOU here? Go spend your time elsewhere. I decide what is worthy of my attention.
Thanks. This video validates what I've been trying to tell people online about the Australian breaking scene. I haven't lived in Melbourne for a while but pre 2020 there were a bunch of street level breaking crews containing literal kids who could shred raygun without breaking a sweat. Didn't catch whether Sui is frim Melbourne or not, but she's a prime example of what I been trying to tell people.
Honestly I know her personally, I used to be part of the Sydney's dance scene approx 10-5y ago. Rachel was always at the beginner, amateur level. Nothing against her competing in local competitions and cyphers etc. as beginners should also have fun, but with her level of skill I was so surprised when I heard she is going to Olympics. Someone should have sat her down and tell her she prolly shouldn't be going (as the Kiwi judge said she will get rekt). Right now I train and compete in a sport that is also at the Olympics at an amateur level - but I don't try to join any pro competitions because 1. got no chance, 2. I'm not that good, 3. again got no chance 4. I'm just a beginner (and so is she btw.).
She is digging her heels in though, she still believes she is Australia's best despite her zero score...very curious woman not to admit defeat. Her style is actually very uncoordinated and uninspiring to watch, despite her background in dance and movement. Breakdancing is pretty cool, but she presents as a big dorky dag😊
@@peaceangel-rl2hf Of course she's not going to backtrack. She's either delusional and truly believes she's the best or she did this on purpose to get a free trip to Paris and to advance her career. I will give her the benefit of the doubt and say it's probably the latter.
I went to a big outdoor concert in Melbourne in the Eighties, the Divinyls and a few other bands were playing, prior to the concert starting they brought on a Team of, then new, Break dancers for a display performance, the (Rock n Roll diehard) Crowd got so incensed at this, that they started showering the stage with water bottles and whatever else they could throw, and they had to stop the performance, it was sad in retrospect, but quite funny at the time.
I'm in Australia currently. Sui is only like 12 years old. she's not allowed to enter the Olympics. But I saw her live at a recent battle. She won the whole thing. She's great.
Rachel and Australia trying to gaslight the entire world saying she was the best of Oceania and deserved to be there was probably the wildest part. Like .. we have eyes
She DID pull strings in order to qualify for the Olympics, and Brett Cooper breaks it down; The Olympics (not knowing much about breakdancing) decided to offload the ‘qualifications for the Olympics’ to a different dance organization - one whom oversees ballroom dancing. Since they also know not about “breakdancing” they offloaded the qualifications to different entities in multiple countries. The Australian organization whom received the qualifications is run by RayGun and her husband.
To understand her lack of empathy for the 9 yr old or everyone else who's above her, you have to understand her background. She did a degree in cultural studies that she did on breakdancing. And yes she calls herself Dr. These people who follow the social justice narrative, spend ther lives sponging off tax payer money and government grants. Her and her deadbeat husband are taking everyone for a ride and any critisim gets labelled as hate and jealousy.
While I do agree with the sentiment, you shoehorning "social justice" into your rant makes the whole thing laughable. Raygun is a severely sheltered super fan of breakdance culture. She feels entitled to greatness simply because she "studies" the culture extensively. Her husband is an enabler who surrounds the both of them with yes-men and possible corruption. Up until this point, Raygun had not heard any real criticism, allowing her to continue in her role play. This has 0 to do with the so-called "social justice narrative".
Not sure what you mean. I am for social justice and I am against Raygun. Not sure what your views of "social justice" are, but my view is giving the 9 year-old the spot in the olympics.
Little girl is killing it and has the audience hyped for her even without a beat. This is literally insane to see though hahah what the actual hell w that Raygun lady… my brain won’t let me understand it haha.
The fact that she thinks what she’s doing is not just dancing but break dancing is truly the most troubling part. You say the grass is green she says it’s pink and all her “friends” agree and somehow she ends up at the Olympics …
I think people forget that the rules for entry into the B-dance competition required you to have a passport and be over 18 and attend the elimination in Sydney. This excluded almost everyone with talent.
Yes, it was deliberately done in such a way to exclude as many people as possible. The qualifiers had very little notice and time for registration and wasn't really accessible.
@@astrohawke I would really like to know who put these rules in place. Two things appear suspects as to eliminate the most potential participants : the late info send out and the several dance organisations/affiliations request. That doesn't make any sense and I would like someone issue a written request for comment to the higher CIO instances. In case of malpractise, the current local organisation who set-up this whole fiasco should be barred to any Olympic activities in the future, as well as all persons having had responsabilities within this orgnaisation.
Let's be honest for a moment: Raygun is not bad because she doesn't know how to break. She's just ok for a middle age woman whose hobby is to dance once in a while. What makes her a bad bgirl is the fact that she actively trying to step above other, making them believe that she's a good bgirl in a world in which many talented bgirls are as good (if not better) than most of (beginners and intermediate) bboys. So, she's just an ok dancer who decided to play the villain.
She seems to be doing something akin to a turtle-walk in one of these clips. Sure, if from age she couldn't do big power moves, she could have at least honed the old school moves she had, couldn't she?
Yeah she did a couple cool moves here actually. One thing I think that really makes her look amateur though is her transition from one move to the other. She like.. stalls out and it looks really awkward. It's like she pauses between every move.
Raygun is really good at mopping the floor. Maybe she could go on Shark Tank wearing a Snuggie made out of mop heads. She throws some Fabuloso on the ground and proceeds to do her thing. Then show everybody how clean the floor is now from doing the Homer Simpson windmill on the ground for 5 minutes straight.
I don't care what people say, Raygun is the best break dancer ever! She broke dancing all by herself at the olympics to the point that this event is not coming back.
Well Kasparov and Bobby Fischer are great chess players as well as great teachers. Ivan Lendl and Boris Becker gave coaching lessons to Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic respetively, and Novak learnt more about the diving volleys and stuff from Boris...since Boris was a former 3-time Wimbledon champion. Ivan Lendl was an elite tennis player back in the day too.
Everytime Raygun moves, it’s like she’s doing a spoof on bad break dancers. This lady was in the Olympics with mountain climbers exercise moves?!? Props to that girl that schooled her Breakdancing 101
Not talking about Raygun in this comment. But here is something interesting. When I lived in an area called Shonandai(Fujisawa City) in Kanagawa prefecture, every time I come home in the evening I have always seen a bunch of people practicing in the station. No one really cared as long as it wasn't bothering anyone. The point is, Japan has so much people that always had interest in breakdancing. They put their heart and soul into a vested interest and really go all out till it's almost perfect. Sui is amazing and it shows she puts her all into it because she loves the art.
If Sui didn’t get to go to the Olympics due to her age, passport status, then we as Australians should demand that the rules for joining the Australian Olympic team, should change. I am utterly disappointed in Raygun, but if Sui went, I would have been proud.
This was by design. From what others have said, there was very little notice for the qualifiers and was made confusing with a lot of red tape that prevented a lot of people from registering. Only those already part of Ausbreaking like Raygun and her husband were ready to enter the qualifiers such that they weren't even able to fill all 16 of the qualifier slots. Ausbreaking was created in 2019 after they found out breakdancing would be at the Paris Olympics and feels very much like it was created for the purpose of getting certain people to the Olympics. Most of the actual breakdancers are not part of this community.
@@astrohawke so basically the qualifiers was made exclusive? I bet they cherry-picked her opponents to be the same league with her so she can progress more convincingly. What a corrupt organization.
I have no doubts that a medal would have been won. Only just saw her for the first time 5 minutes ago. She is insane. Probably started walking at two weeks old considering her skills.
@oldBismark yeah that was certainly, perhaps, maybe, definitely, probably, kind of, not at all, unlikely, but for sure a dumb comment. I guarantee they didn't watch the gold medal match and have no idea what they're even comparing Sui to.

She literally just swings one foot in front of the other over and over and over again then does the 4 yrd old squirming around on their back move... How she got so many people to go along with this is mind boggling.

The Olympics (not knowing much about breakdancing) decided to offload the ‘qualifications for the Olympics’ to a different dance organization - one whom oversees ballroom dancing. Since they also know not about “breakdancing” they offloaded the qualifications to different entities in multiple countries. The Australian organization whom received the qualifications is run by RayGun and her husband.

Yes. Also, needed to be part of a couple of dance organizations. Really played the system well. Pretty evil.
