- Railroads online lets you build and run a oldie American railway which is set in the woods. The aim of the game is to connect the different locations and buildings up and haul freight using rail. Once you make the railway you drive the railway and you get money and XP for each delivery you make.

Montezuma is a good place to start. But for transporting logs, two-axle cars are much more profitable. With the same weight and length of the train, they will transport 60, not 36 logs.
I had forgotten about the amount each of the smaller wagons could take. Might change over. Cheers
Your direction from the logging camp to sawmill doesn’t work because the valley below is also descending at a near 3% grade downwards. Therefore you are better to have a mainline from the freight depot to wheat farm to sawmill and have the logging camp join the mainline at the wheat mill. You have to consider if you were paying for track and bridges you wouldn’t use that many bridges, which makes the look and feel of your map far more realistic, railroads didn’t have those budgets to build infrastructure like that
In my various ROL series I've always tried to do something that you won't see elsewhere but there is a time limit I can put in an episode which I'm this case it was around 5hrs which includes substantial editing. When building you need to decide what's most important to you and I decided that I wanted where possible to only have a slope less than 2.5% and on this build I mostly achieved that. Being a video on YT I also have to make the route interesting. In hindsight I could have remained going down the slope along the hillside for far longer which would have meant coming down near to the well. But it's easy to say this in hindsight. With more time I could have also hugged the hill better and there would be less bridges but once again... hindsight. In a future episode there is a track which heads the direction you suggest but I think this was the far more fun way of getting here for this episode.
@@bluewizard all good nothing wrong with creativity in RROL with an unlimited build budget, computers are supposed to push our limits in imagineering 😎👍
I think they made it so you can start with the farm chain for easy money
That's certainly one way of making money. But cordwood is less work and I'm lazy lol
Transporting seeds and water to the farm is easier and a little faster, but they will pay less than for transporting logs, alas.
