I agree with this so much, I love jay-z in his prime too I lived through it as a kid, but even I still know cube was killing it in his prime, you can argue cube didn’t fall off until after WSC, which was into the early thousands late 90s, like 99, this dude dropped gems everything he did was legendary in that time frame, nothing away from jay because he dropped gems from RD to blueprint 1 or 2 then he started getting really pop, don’t get me wrong about that tho because jay has dropped some good stuff but jay z was really like dominating around vol 2 to 3, that’s when he really popped off and cube was kinda out the gate fire, jay didn’t get true shine until big passed, both rappers are just absolute legends I saw ice cube live he was awesome

Mr Violator - Jay has stand the test of time for over 20+ years at the number 1 spot and that's not by coincidence. Plus Cube got exposed in the late 90's as being a fake gangsta so his lyrics were deemed unoriginal and nobody likes an unoriginal rapper. As with Jay his friends getting out and saying everything he talks about is very true which for him garners the ultimate respect and that is why Jay has loyal fans til this day unlike Cube.

Jay's first album was a CLASSIC, thats hard to do. not to take anything away from cube because he did some really memorable shit and played the game smart af.
