I saw Cypress live at the Smoke N Groove tour right after this, B-Real came out mid-song and dissed Ice Cube, at the peak of his career, in California. That's real. The crowd went wild cheering. Big up to B for keeping it real. Cypress Hill is one of the greatest live hip hop acts of all time.
I think we all can agree that Ice Cube is not a gangster, but he is a great MC. But that's all he is. He created a character and made a lot of money and a great career out of it.

Yo I'll never forget Cypress Hill performing live on YO MTV raps live at spring break Daytona beach.I was like 11 yrs old rocking out to that!!And I saw them in concert when I was in high school at the Orange County fairgrounds.Cypress Hill is the shit forever.
I believe the other "diss single" was "Bow down," which was was, well, a pretty massive diss. Both of these guys are some of the best rappers of all time. The "beef" probably gave everyone involved a LOT of publicity. Those songs are most certainly unforgettable. Ice Cube's "Kill at Will" is probably even a better example of this type of work, damn.
I remember I got a hold of an out of print CD, that has various artist on it. I loved this 1 song, written by 1 of my favourite artists. I had played this song live, and a special event in my hometown. A friend of mind, an artist to, heard my performance of this song. He was going to record a second record, and took this song and recorded it. I'm not the song writer, this is not my song. BUT, I felt a special connection to this song. Its on a very hard to find record. When I called my friend out about this recording, he said.... oh.... I have always known this song.... I just forgot about it. It was pretty convenient he remembered the song, after I performed it.
