I said it before and I’ll say it again. You are the queen of swatching! So happy you made a Patrick Ta duo video. Here’s to hoping cult restocks some of the shades. Patrick Ta shipping to Europe is crazy expensive!
Aw thank you! Yeah I wish it all the worldwide stockists of his brand got his releases a lot quicker. I'm happy he ships from his site now but it takes sooo long and costs a bit xx
I haven't seen these in person so watching you has been great. I think the online backlash is slightly absurd because plenty of people will pay comparatively more for a single. The one point i could understand is that some customers deeply love one shade in a duo and find the other 'meh'. That would make it seem like paying $42 for a single.
Oh I love your makeup 😍😍😍😍. I think they are totally worth the price, basically I do understand how products can b easier to make rather than a matte eye shadow. Your make up looks utterly beautiful as usual ❤❤❤❤
I have 2 of these (We Need Better Lighting & Still at the Club) I LOVE them. They are gorgeous, don’t irritate my sensitive eyes, and have next to zero fallout throughout the day. I have it on good authority that Santa is bringing me Do You Know Who I Am for my Stocking. I am very happy with them and think they are worth their price for me-especially when compared to other baked eyeshadows like Bobbi Brown, Pat McGrath, and Sisely. (And definitely compared to non-baked shadows like the Charlotte Tilbury singles) The only thing I wish was that they’d made it obvious on the website that all of the shades were not the same texture. Both of the We Need Better Lighting shades are super sparkly. Only one of the Still in the Club shades is sparkly like that. The other is more of a satin.
I'm so glad you love them Lisa! They did impress me more than I anticipated actually. I didn't know that about the differences in textures though. Agreed, that is something I would like to know blatantly up front xx
This look very beautiful. And hair too❤ Thank you for this video. It’s just throw a lot of dirt on these shadows from Patrick. But I really like them ❤
Love the hair!! These duos are so pretty, I love the look of the taupe duo, still at the club I think it’s called. I wish they’d come to Sephora Australia!! I thought $66 was reasonably priced for a luxury duo, the uproar over it was crazy!! Awesome video as always 💖💖💖
So glad that you are being real! These duos are exquisite and very sophisticated, especially the Still at the Club one (I have all, and it has the most noticeable glitter). The hate that spilled online was so stupid and unnecessary, and will result in nothing else but brands making much worse products for a little less in the future.
Ohh I hope you love the stick! It is my fave makeup product haha Also, I thought it sucked that he didn't do a proper BF sale as well. Surely they could have at least done 20% off sitewide. I know I've had a code from him before to get 20% off his site so its odd he didn't do that for BF? xx
I don't consider patrick ta luxury personally, I know he's a makeup artist but got popular from youtube right? I would put chanel, charlotte tilbury and dior as luxury.
Thank you for featuring these. I am not so compelled to buy them. I am more excited by the new Clionadh palette X @badtothebrow. These are very pretty. I am not so sure of the pairings. Your swatches are always first rate ❤
It’s funny, I’m American and I didn’t think these were so expensive either. I paid $36 USD for one Victoria Beckham lid lustre so this isn’t such a big leap. I just wish he came out with more interesting colors, like some soft blues, seafoamy greens, lilacs… what wouldn’t give for an eyeshadow duo that gives us a wet-looking silver with a blue shift
Hi Martina, I believe Miriam said they are a baked gelee formula or something which is more costly to produce.... I bought 3 can't wait to see your looks!
Hi Martina, they look really lovely. I was wondering, how do the silver and peach shades compare to Lisa Eldridge Fawn white tie and debutant? Thank you 😊
Oh good question. I would say similar tones but Lisa's are more of a smooth metallic formula and have a more color base to them but the P Ta ones have a translucent base and a lot more glitter to them xx
Hi Martina, You look stunning! 🙂 The way you style your hair today makes a huge difference and you should do this more often (aka daily 😁 ). I consider Patrick Ta an average brand in the same category with ABS, Tarte, Rare beauty, ND, PMG, Make Up by Mario, Charlotte Tilbury etc. On top of that is extremely overpriced for what it is. For me luxury brands are Chanel, Guerlain, Cle de Peau, Hermes, Sisley, Tom Ford to name a few. A comparison with one of these brands is hilarious. 😁 Chunky glitter is not my thing no matter if is morning or evening and overall Patrick Ta brand is far away from my aesthetic and expectations from a makeup brand. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Haha thanks Alya! Yeah I can see that for sure in terms of brands. I found it crazy that CT was more expensive than Chanel to be honest haha I should say it's not a chunky glitter at all, like a fairy dust glitter but will have fallout. But not the glitter that you keep finding on everywhere for the next seven years haha xx
They’re really pretty -I don’t have an issue with the price either; I was burned though on the Major Deminsions II palette, which had similar shimmery shadows for the top half of the palette which went bad. They actually grew mold, which I took pics of and forwarded to Patrick Ta’s website. I had purchased them directly from them, so I was surprised to learn that they were not allowing a return of the product, citing it had to do with the way the product was stored. I do not live in a warm climate AT ALL, nor is it humid - I have climate controls. My makeup palettes are in the bottom drawer of my bureau, and the palette was right there, stored in the original packaging with its box. Honestly, I will never buy another product from him. I thought that was awful. I hate that others were probably treated the same way (they simply stopped responding to me, and I was polite) - and are continuing to be treated this way. He is quite successful and should stand behind his product. I hope you have better luck that I did! Looks stunning on you.
Oh that is super disappointing to hear actually especially because I have had soooo many people tell me their palettes had mold so its definitely not a storage thing surely. Mine personally didn't ever grow mold and I do live in a hot and humid climate so by that theory mine defs should have grown it. I'm sorry you had that experience :( Thanks so much lovely xx
I still think Patrick Ta is not a luxury brand yet. He could have cut the cost a little by not adding the mirror. He is comparable to M akeup by Mario, Urban Decay, etc. I think his price, even for his foundation, is just a smidge too high. Once he is more established, he can creep his prices up.
That's fair. I wonder if he is more expensive than Mario cos of where he gets his formulas made? Cos I know Mario usually gets his made in the US (from my knowledge which is probs too little haha) and Patricks is usually in Italy. I could be totally wrong but thats the only thing I can think of or he just wants to be a higher price haha xx
@MartinaLily Yet there are brands producing formulas from italy that are way cheaper than his , made in Italy is not a free pass to luxury .I think he got a bit ahead of himself , he needs to get his head out of the clouds and come back down to earth .
Thank you for such detailed swatches. For me there is nothing special in these shades. "Talk to my team" is a very appropriate name for the second duo,as they look moderately (not to offend))) in daylight.
I agree with your math and still...I am a bit offended by the price of duos that do not create a look on their own, with maybe the exception of 1 (at the club). To me Patrick is in the same category as Huda, Anastasia, about face etc, for me to be considered true luxury you need a lot of tried and true holy grails, Patricks formulas are still hit and miss although I believe he will get there he is not there yet. He is not Dior, YSL, or Guerlain. Although there are a few products these luxury brands have missed the mark on Patrick is still cutting his teeth and has many questionable products from moldy eyeshadow palettes to goopy highlighter, don't get me wrong I love some Patrick on my cheeks and I enjoy his new controversial foundation, but I have also spent my hard earned money on highlighter that had the consistancy of melty butter and expensive palettes that had to be tossed, but still want to support his endeavors...except this one, they are a bunch of duo toppers that I frankly don't understand for way to much money for a first launch. Thank you!
I will be never understand the uproar about the price of these when compared to other comparable single shadows. So many people were minding other people’s wallets over this. If you don’t want them, don’t get them. If you do, go for it! It was wild to watch. I got We Need Better Lighting. I love it. I will get a ton of use out of it. It’s the only eyeshadow I’ve bought in a year. It’s a formula j love that I can just tap on and go and it doesn’t emphasize texture. Sending love your way, Martina!

this look was soooo pretty omg Love your hair!
Your hair looks amazing like that. Great review. You do the best swatches! Thank you.
I think they’re beautiful, I just probably have several of those equivalents in my collection already. But beautiful eyes and I love the hair 😘
This is a gorgeous look. And your hair looks amazing 😂 I love these shadows and am not mad I got them, or mad at the price
Oh I love your makeup 😍😍😍😍. I think they are totally worth the price, basically I do understand how products can b easier to make rather than a matte eye shadow. Your make up looks utterly beautiful as usual ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much lovely! xx
super pretty love how it turned out

I got "Still at the club" shade coming to me tomorrow...so excited 😂❤

Thank you Karen! We will probs get em in AU at the end of 2025 haha xx
They look beautiful definitely getting talk to my team.

I’ve so been waiting for your swatches!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤎 you’re the best!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤎🤎🤎🤎🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
I’m wearing do you know who I am today on my eyes they are stunning the only one I didn’t pick up was the pink ❤
I was looking forward to watching your review on these! They look stunning, the shade “still at the club” also seems beautiful ❤
Thank you lovely! xx
I always appreciate your thorough reviews

Totally agree .
Being an Australian too I don’t find these expensive either 😊
You look gorgeous, I love your hair like this!

Ohhh now those shades would have been amazing! Maybe he'll extend the shade range? xx
Hey friend, happy thanksgiving! I agree with a few of the comments. You are one of the best when it comes to switching.
Aw thank you lovely! You're the best xx
Hi Martina, I believe Miriam said they are a baked gelee formula or something which is more costly to produce.... I bought 3 can't wait to see your looks!
Yeah Mariam is right on that for sure! Thanks lovely xx

Oh good question. I would say similar tones but Lisa's are more of a smooth metallic formula and have a more color base to them but the P Ta ones have a translucent base and a lot more glitter to them xx
PS I also love your honesty and your opinion about the products 😊😊
Thank you so much! xx
I loved them on you and I’ll definitely pick them up x
Can you try them again, similar to what you did today but with a warm toned matte from major dimensions?
Sure can! xx
Love your maths 👏🏻👏🏻
Knowing your love for cooler toned eyeshadows , why did. you not pick up the taupe duo? 😊
Well... I was trying to not get the same shades I have over and over hahaha but I regret it, I'll probs pick it up if they ever come to AU Sephora xx
@ haha. I get it. I am also falling for the same shade over and over again 😂

Just saying, but even against the price of MAC singles ($AUD35/1.5g) these are not too crazy…. But you are right everyone’s value of a $ is different.

Other people posted their moldy Patrick Ta palettes on reddit too.

Moondust is more sparkly ✨✨
