I love how you guys send the wonkiest quickrelease bar ever but don't show cinching it. Great job.
Exactly! Specifically wanted to see how far the lever goes flush into the cut-outs on the non-drive cup and they show a skewer without a lever. 😑
I didn't even get a skewer and I don't have a bike that has one. Am I screwed?
You took the words right out of my mouth… It’s amazing how these sort of instructional videos omit probably the most sought after info for setting things up. 😂
Anyone found out? I have a lever on the skewer they send but it doesn't fit at all into the Mechanism!
Same here. Must the lever go fully inside the cut-outs? Looking at the conical shape of the nut of the skewer and its corresponding cut in the snap lock, it seems the lever won't go any further than the first millimeter on the cut-out. Besides if other people have the same question it is because this is a common thing.
2 full turns, thanks!!
I was waiting to see how it is paired
Ok, listen. This is great BUT, I need the instructions to the skewer adapter install.
Does this work with single speed bikes?
I don't understand why a 126mm dropout bike won't fit. At the worst, a spacing washer or two between the quick release ends and the frame and then the spacing is 130mm at least. It's only 4mm.
Bought my snap brand new last year and it worked however I noticed the power never read accurately. Every spindown reported the exact same calibration number as well so I questioned if it was calibrating properly. The only thing I could identify was that the tire was never centered. The reason is because I had to unthread the left side clamp all the way to ever get the blue clamp even close to tight. As I setup just now this year it's the same thing. It's as if the frame of the unit is too wide, and since the adjustment is only on the left the tire has to be off center if the bike is going to be tight. Is this a known issue and is there a solution?
I have the same problem like the unit is too wide for the bike. I haven/t tried it but maybe some washers on the QR to meet the blue clamp better??
Same issue with centering the wheel here. You'd think everyone would be having the exact same problem if we're all using the same skewer -- unless the base is being manufactured inconsistently.
Hey Wahoo, can You provide answer to that problem with non centered tire?
But...what if your bike doesn't use quick release axle? And Im guessing it wont work with 29" wheel.
Even with 2 full turns, the tire squeaks and slips. Tried cleaning the tire and rolling surface, nothing helps.
I have been using the recommended 2 full turns of tension, but I have unfortunately delaminated 2 tires over that past couple months. Do you have any recommendations on how to avoid this? I used a road tire at 100 psi and the cycle ops training tire at 110 psi and both failed.
Zachary Fellin: I'd strongly suggest using trainer tires. You can either get another wheel so that you can change tires prior to mount your bike into the trainer (so that you can use it quickly on road or on trainer) or getting an inexpensive, but fitted, bicycle to use solely for indoor training with the training tire permanently mounted on it.
Does it work with 120 mm rear wheels such as those from track bikes?
Anyone can help how to nake a 24 junior bike fir the snap, tire cant touch the flywheel.
Arrived as expected with all parts intact, also included two hex keys for assembly. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxwOUUBdw8-88Iu4QnQS7q6b2NwZkHiYVl Had to adjust mine slightly to fit my bike, this was easy enough with instructions. I bought it to train with my track bike and found it to have resistance similar to climbing a slight gradient. Takes a while to learn to balance but there is plenty of guidance to help on the internet. Edit: There was more resistance at lower speeds because of the number of contact points but at higher speeds it is much easier as you don’t have to contend with drag.
So stupid it doesn't come with a through axle and they force you to buy one from Europe cause they are out of stock
I am getting a new carbon bike in a view days.
Canyon says that I would loose my guarantee if I'd use the bike with my kickr snap as their bikes are only certified to be used on direct drive trainers.
Are there huge differences in forces on the frame when comparing kickr snap with kickr core?
What do you think about the risk caused by using the kickr core with my new Grizl CF SL 7?
Did you ever get an answer for this? Running into the same problem myself on my new canyon endurace
@@Sirsaucedalot nope.
Solution:
I’ve sold my snap on eBay. 😢
can zwift control the resistance ?Does it connect with bluetooth and ant +
yes most can connect to zwift by bluetooth . That's not what I'm asking . I want to know if the zwift program once connected can control the resistance of the trainer so that when you are going up a hill in zwift the zwift programs adjusts your trainer and adds resistance to the wheel to make it feel like your going up a hill . some trainers do this and some don't . they can both connect to zwift by bluetooth but some models don't control the resistance .
steve dental it does lad
How much should the back tire be pumped?
It says on the side of your tire 🙄
Does it work with hybrid bike tires?
Yes, but we recommend getting a trainer-specific tire, as it does cause wear on the tire.
Wahoo Fitness I’ve got a fancy axile that screws into the frame
Seriously poor trainer this … drum on mine isn’t central and it’s unusable … Bearings are appalling too
Would this work with a track/fixed gear bike?
you can use the SNAP for a track bike.
