    This is so detailed and well put together, I just bought the travel tracker and love using it and adding all my trips! This is very random but If you ever create a restaurant tracker I will be the first one to buy it!

    Love love this template! Is there a way to view stats from previous months like how the yearly stats are setup? Or a way to track books based on the month read rather than year?

      @creative_cove  День тому

      Currently I just have the Yearly Report setup as you saw in the video but this could easily be amended to be a monthly report instead. It just uses a relation property, so there is a separate database where I just list the years and then you associate a year with each book. You could just change the years to months in this database instead.

    This is awesome. I have your second brain template - is there a way to integrate this version of the reading tracker into it? Thanks!

      You could easily link to this reading tracker in the menu, that would probably be the easiest way but it wouldn't be linked up to the notes database (like the built-in reading tracker in the second brain is)

    Hi there, a great tutorial video to run through the details. It is really helpful. Could you also show me how to change the "book" into different category option such as book, journal, website, webinar etc...? thanks

    • @creative_cove
      @creative_cove  5 місяців тому

      Sure, you could just add a select property with each of those categories as an option. You can then set up a filtered view for each category by simply adding a filter and selecting the appropriate category. :)

    do you have a tutorial on how to create the reading log and stats tracker?

    I bought the template and I am absolutely loving it. One thing I am wondering if you could add is in addition to the reading log with hours and minutes tracked -- a way to also track the pages read per session that feeds into each book, which would then automatically update the pages remaining for that specific book; and then provide a 'pages read per month/year/total' in the Reading Stats. Do you think that would be possible?

      Thanks for purchasing the template, I'm so happy you like it!
      That would definitely be possible but you would need to add in quite a few more properties to make it work. Firstly you'd need to add a relation between the reading log and the main book database so that every time you log a reading session, you can select which book you read. You'd also need to add a number property to the reading log to count the pages read. Back in the main book database, you could then use a rollup to pull through the pages read and sum them. You'd then need to create a formula that would minus the pages read from the total pages in the book. You could then also pull through the data into the reading stats, again using relations & rollups.

      @@creative_cove Thanks heaps for that. I managed to setup the automatic updating of pages. I can't seem to figure out how to make all of that feed into the Reading Log Stats for pages read per month/year/total though. Do you think you could expand on that a little more? I really appreciate it

      @@dylanhartley7858 Sure, it's a bit more complex but I'll try to explain the best I can. In the reading log database, if you look at the hidden properties you'll see a couple of formulas - one called 'This Year?' and one called 'This Month?'. These are being used to figure out which entries should be labeled as this month or this year so you'll need to do a similar thing for the pages. You can just duplicate those formulas but just change the 'Total Hours' property for the pages property you created instead.
      Once you've done that, in the reading stats database, you'll want to set up some rollup properties to pull the data through. You'll need one rollup to pull through the pages property (which will show total pages read), another to pull through the 'this year pages' property and another for the 'this month pages' property. You can then set up a few more formulas in the reading stats database that code the number with the text, you can just copy the existing ones I've already set up for 'hours read' and change the text and properties. Hope this makes sense!
