    That was some beautiful juicy chicken. The color was perfect and skin crisp. I'm impressed with the way the Traeger performed. Nice cook Sandy.

    Great video Sandy, I’ve been on a strict diet lately. Looks like I’ll be trying this out soon! Like the idea of putting the lemon slices on the grill grates and putting the chicken on top. On another note, I recently found a new rub that is amazing on chicken. 2 gringos Chupacabra rub, not sure if you have that in Georgia but if not I’ll send you some.

    Great video and technique on this recipe. I quick suggestion when seasoning your lemons or any fruit on the grill, take a pan, sprinkle your rub/seasoning on the fruit, let it set a bit and then on the grill limiting the spillage on the heat diffuser. .

    Sorry for the comment so late, I noticed you posted this a while back. If you check the temp with an external thermometer (which it was 200 degrees), what do you let the 780 probe to get to? 185?

    The problem with cooking at high temp is there won't be a smokey flavor right? Wouldnt it be just like cooking in an oven?

    Was the chicken Smokey flavored at that higher temp and shorter cook time? Seems like this would be more of a non-Smokey cook.

    The Weber Citrus Herb is the best chicken seasoning there is! HANDS DOWN! WHY CAN"T I FIND IT!!! The only place I know to get it is on Sam's Club online order.

    How is the smoke flavor on a 1.5 hour cook vs a low and slow 4-5 hour cook?

    • @JusPiddlinBBQ
      @JusPiddlinBBQ  3 роки тому +5

      Jetland Productions it is good. Really after meat passes about 160F or so it doesn’t absorb much smoke after that anyway. At that point you are just cooking for tenderness/internal temp.

  • @catherinetintle9755

    Do you still get smoke flavor at 350?

    • @JusPiddlinBBQ
      @JusPiddlinBBQ  2 роки тому +1

      The higher in temp you go the less smoke you get, so not as much. I rarely cook above 275 anymore.

    Do you brine your chicken ?

    • @JusPiddlinBBQ
      @JusPiddlinBBQ  2 роки тому

      Great question Russell. I don't. I have tried it in the past, but for the work and cleanup, I didn't find it beneficial for backyard style bbq.....I would rather spritz during cooking.

    • @JusPiddlinBBQ
      @JusPiddlinBBQ  3 роки тому

      Sierra thanks for the comment. The smoky part of the video is only during startup. If you notice throughout the rest of the video, you don't see a ton of smoke like that. Just because you don't see smoke doesn't mean it isn't there....it is just a clean smoke. If you look at the chicken at the end of the video, you can tell that it took some smoke in. I hope this helps. Keep Piddlin!

    • @vinniechildz4017
      @vinniechildz4017 Рік тому

      It won't smoke at a higher temp as far as I can tell. More bbq than smoked. Can smoke it a bit then raise the temp.
