Awesome video. I would scoop the ultra up but I wished they offered at least a graphite or matte black color option. I might have to stick with grabbing the stainless steel series 8 in graphite. But I think the nomad black band went best with it as I like the more subdued color options. Which is why I don’t like any of the standard aluminum series 8 colors. The classic blue navy buckle did look good as well as the brown.

Awesome video Matt! I have a few bands too from Nomad. Yes, they never miss. I got the same ash green sport band and i paired it with my ultra. I preordered the orange version of the sport band. The other nomad straps i got is the same black rugged band and their steel bracelet band. That combined with the ultra is 🔥 I also have apple’s leather loop in golden brown, sport loop and the steel milanese loop.

I’ve noticed for activities when I get sweaty or my arms wet that the Nike band is preferred. The holes make it a more comfortable wear. The nomad strap is very comfortable but more stiff and I prefer that fit when I’m doing things like hiking. Nike for comfort and skin breathability.
Do you have any play with the Nomad Sport band connected to the watch ultra? Just got in a Black Nomad Sport and I can notice it feels a little loose/sloppy where it connects to the ultra. Do I have a dud or do all Nomad sport bands fit like this?
The magnetic strap is pretty slick, but I have also heard that apple watch straps that use magnets can possibly affect the compass app. I would not have expected the compass app actually use magnets but I wouldn't know myself so if you're gonna be using the magnetic strap check to see if it actually messes with the compass.
You know I haven’t heard of this at all. With the ultra having better gps and compass tech I wonder if it’s no longer an issue. Should I see inaccuracies on the compass app? I can compare with my series 7.

I think so too. It looks like a sport loop that can maybe get a little more wet and stay drier. Sort of in between a regular sport loop and an alpine loop.

The blk/lime green nike band was definitely ugly with the ultra. Im using the black nomad sport with my ultra right now. I have a ringke titanium band on the way.
I do not understand why anyone would pay over $15.00 for an Ultra watch band when you can find similar models on Amazon for $8.00 to $15.00 and they are well made and fit perfectly. I have been using these bands since the first Apple Watch with NO issues. My Ultra cam with the yellow band they is used for diving. That band is so big and bulky it came off within minutes and was swapped for a $8.00 silicone band from an Amazon seller. And so it goes with way overpriced watch bands. IMO Apple is paying $4.00 or $5.00 for bulk watch bands and selling them for $100.00. BUT... buy what you think is best for YOU.
I’ve found the bands have gotten much better from Amazon. They weren’t the best in the beginning. I’ve recently tried some aftermarket bands and have been pleased with the fit and finish. However an example of poor quality would be the replica trail bands on Amazon. They fray badly from the Velcro. Apples doesn’t.

Magnetic loops impact the compass operations but I don’t think I would go as far to say it “damages” the Watch. That’s news to me. Have you seen somewhere Apple’s website where it mentions that the magnetized bands can permanently damage the watch? I don’t think I’ve noticed issues since the Series 0.
The nomad sport band in green was a great pairing for it, for sporty. The classic blue band was nice to try and dress it up(but you can’t really dress this one up in my opinion). The green and black Nike band was the worst pairing in my opinion. And the.my the red was second worse. The other pairings all work fine.

@@justmattgray lol test it with true north ;) the compass will appear to work but will be off by as much as 180 degrees! I guess it depends where the magnet falls at on your wrist. On my 165mm wrist my Milanese loop magnet comes all the way around and my compass is off 180 degrees. If the magnet is directly under the watch and your wrist is between it the effect will be less. Test it out and let us know!

That watch is too big and bulky I paid the same for the series 8 stainless steel and is a much better fit I was not with the hype of it being a new design watch but hey that’s my opinion great vid
New band ... I think some company (if not Apple) will offer an adapter so the old bands can still be used with the new band connection... that could be EVERY band company.
Ugliest combo gotta be the Nike band 🤢. I too am a bit obsessed with my Apple Watch bands, I’ve had too many to recall. All time favorite has to be a leather/silicone hybrid I just got from a company out in the UK called Buckle & Band. Bellroy also has some nice bands too.

They make the Buckle strap.....but only for the smaller Watches. Forgot the exact time they discontinued doing the 44/45mm sizes. Think it was the same time they made the large size Leather bands exclusive to 44mm.
I wish Apple would do a wider titanium Milanese loop designed for the ultra One from a previous generation would probably keep loosening up too much from the difference in the weight the magnets are designed to hold.

Alpine looks great. I like the leather loop with the magnets in navy too. Plus it’s easy to put on and take off.

Nomad band is so bad only comes in size and doesn’t fit small wrists because the band on the inner side is too long

The best buy band looks fantastic, and I think the black hardware looks slick, especially when the watch screen has black in it, it looks awesome.
There’s two titanium Milanese loop bands for the Ultra, one in natural titanium and one in black
I have a few Alpine loop bands for my Ultra.the Ultra is the best Apple Watch I’ve had so far.
The „standard“ Sportsloup is still the best band Apple has ever done for the watch. Use it withe Ultra as well 👍👍

They make the Buckle strap.....but only for the smaller Watches. Forgot the exact time they discontinued doing the 44/45mm sizes. Think it was the same time they made the large size Leather bands exclusive to 44mm.
I wish Apple would do a wider titanium Milanese loop designed for the ultra
One from a previous generation would probably keep loosening up too much from the difference in the weight the magnets are designed to hold.

Have you tried going in the store to buy one? I pre ordered one online, then went into the Apple Store and they had plenty of them in stock
Can use many bands that looks solid on Ultra, even Apples link Bracelet looks decent IF you got the Black that is. :)
