Some things I noted from this test. 1. Chain speed and torque are much better than the LXT 36v chainsaws, this thing has a ton of power! 2. The battery gets much hotter than the saw, the saw was warm by the end but the battery was quite hot. I gave the saw and battery zero cool down time for this video. 3. The saw is definitely heavier than the 36v LXT saws, 14.7lbs with the battery (XGT) VS 11.1lb with the battery (LXT) 4. The 5ah XGT battery went into thermal protection when I put it on the charger, charge time went up to 80-90min as it now had to cool the battery first. 6. This saw is also very hard to stall, it never did during this test, unlike the 36v chainsaws. And finally, always wear FULL PPE when using a chainsaw, I always wear chaps, face shield and gloves! Be safe!
Note when opening a new saw I would get some cardboard and after all the checks run it against the cardboard or tree and make sure the oiler is working, only usually takes 30 seconds to a minute before making the first cut.
Hi and thanks for the video! Please, could you tell how the saw perform with the standard Bl4040 battery? Will I feel the decrease in power or it just will last very short due to overheat? I wont make continuos cut but just home wood cut and some felling. With 36v had never problem cause I never force tools. Thank you. I would like to avoid buy expensive 5 or 8 ah battery.

Just got mine, going to put it to task today with blackjack and see how it does!
If the 40V version is that much better than the 18V X2, I wonder how much better their 40V string trimmers are than the 36V.
they are same amount better, but more towards battery runtime than pure torque.
Is this supposed to be a GCU06T1? I'm searching for GU06T1 and not finding anything.
Yes, just updated the model#
And remember to slacken chain for storage because it will contract
