Good partner for Mac Mini: This Hub has multiple interfaces to meet multiple needs. Same size, alloy material, plug and play, light, solid, fast heat dissipation, more suitable for your Mac Mini
Dual Hard Drive Enclosure Design: Compatible with M.2 (NVMe / NGFF) and 2.5inch (Mechanical / Solid State) hard disk (Hard disk within 10mm), support dual hard disk read and write at the same time. * When two hard drive enclosure work together, please connects USB-C (B) for power supply
Multiple interfaces: Hagibis Mac Mini Dock with M.2 NVMe/NGFF, 2.5inch SATA hard drive enclosure, 10Gbps USB3.1 Gen2, 10Gbps USB-C, 2 5Gbps USB3.0, SD/Micro SD card slot. Various interfaces meet all your needs
Good News for Camera Fans: Fast read and write SD/TF card, support dual card reading and writing at the same time
High Speed Transmission: 10Gbps to transmit 1G large files only need 1 second. *Due to the limitation of Apple M1 chip, the reading and writing speed is lower than that of non M1 chip computer
I was looking to buy this dock making sure it would work with my NVME that I bought last prime sale, and this video featured the same exact brand and model affirming the answers I'm looking for. Thank you!
Yes that NVME storage works great.
Just the video I wanted to see, thank you!
No problem!
Thanks for all your work on this (and the risk you took to get this dock in the first place). I just discovered this Hagibis brand today, and was skeptical about it due to one review I read where it would either put the SSD to sleep or disconnect it altogether. But if I understand correctly, that review was for the Hagibis dock with the single SSD enclosure.
Thanks for your support. That's why I put "it won't disconnect SSD after sleep" in the title :D
Sorry!
I am doing tests from Monterrey and the limitation is not the M1 Chip, but rather the USB C ports of the HUB that are not capable of acquiring the speeds of the Thunderbolt ports. In order to have adequate speeds, it is very important that the HUB has a Thunderbolt 3/4 connection, that the cable is appropriate (not all of them work) and that the disk is well formatted in APFS
All the best!
not sure, please contact the customer service.
It's actually a limitation of USB-C chipset not M1 chip. You could test it on Intel chip with USB-C, you will get similar speed as M1 chip.
Thanks for the info! I read about this limitation on the dock manufacture's description and I have tested with USB-A to SATA connection cable the speed is higher.
@@ToolsElectroDIY edit and reupload the vid, your information was bogus, the M1 is a fantastic processor will eat Intel and AMD for a light snack.
Hi, I would like to clarify one thing, the limitation (640 MB/s) is due to the dock, using USB 3.0 protocol (AKA USB 3.1 gen 1, AKA USB 3.2 gen 1X1).
The 2 USB-C of the mac mini M1 can handle Thunderbold 3 protocol, so can handie up to 5GB/s (40 Gbits/s), in theory 🙂.
I am not saying that the dock is crap (I bought one after watching this video 🙂, I am just saying that if we want a dock with Thunderbold, it would cost us more that 300$.
English pls
The funny thing is that half of Mac Mini M1 inside is empty and if Apple had tiny bit of good will they could add more ports and drive slots without any problems (and probably without price impact since things like sata or nvme connectors itself are dirt cheap).
Let's wait for the next gen.
My Dock is fine. No issues.
Sounds good thanks for sharing.
***According to additional instructions for this docking station, if you use both the M.2 SSD and the SSD drives you have to provide additional power to the USB-C port. I’m curious as to why this wasn’t covered in your video. Underpowering the unit can cause it not to work properly or efficiently.
Good catch. However it worked fine for me even without the external power supply.
@@ToolsElectroDIY hmmm..ok
@@harleyrider9166 for me i need to attached power when i connect more usbs in the front. but i think ssd and nvme internally you dont need to have that extra power
What is the brand?
See link in description
Great Video. Do you necessarily need both drives or can you purchase just one of your preference?
You can get the version with just one ssd slot. I use the other one for Time Machine backup
Thanks for the video, do I need to plug both type C cable on the behind of the hub in order to use the nvme and the ports in the hub or one is enough?
Just one
Is the nvme overheating? or everything is working fine?@@ToolsElectroDIY
Hello, I just bought this hub thanks to your recommendation, but in my case, the M2 SSD does disconnect every time my Mac Mini goes to sleep or when I turn off the monitors.
How have you done so that they do not disconnect you?
PS: I do have a 10V charger connected via USB and I also have a 2TB SAta 3 Drive.
Any recommendation?
No, I didn't do anything and it doesn't disconnect.
Did you have a separate USB-C power supply plugged into the second port in the back (in addition to the Mac Mini)? I've read that the M1 doesn't deliver enough power when going to sleep to keep the SSDs from disconnecting, but that when you have a separate power this isn't an issue.
I just ordered one, so hopefully this is the case as I don't want the wear and tear that constantly disconnecting might incur.
@@Probably.boredinPDX no external power is connected
@@Probably.boredinPDX What power supply did you order? I'm having the same issue. I hate to use up a USB-C port with a power adapter though. Wonder if I could use one of the USB-C dongles with pass-thru power?
@@ToolsElectroDIY You must have an external PSU or you can overload the Mac Mini USB Bus.
Great Video! I'm having an issue with my base m1 mini recognizing the 1TB NVME that is have in the hub. Any thoughts on how I can get it to show up in my Disk Utility?
did you try it with a disk enclosure to make sure the ssd drive is not damaged ?
@@ToolsElectroDIY Oh, I’m not sure what that is?
@@ToolsElectroDIY Also, I Have a 4TB SSD on the other side of the hub.
@@CarlDecoteau a ssd case with usb to test and verify your ssd is good.
@@ToolsElectroDIY Oh, no I dont. I'll grab one to test it out. Thanks!
its not GeeBee its Giga Byte
Accurate.
Is this product safe for our mac mini M1 machine?.. because in some cases usb hub make damage in mac
It's safe. I'm still using it today. Here is a follow up review ua-cam.com/video/Rru4NnNXCts/v-deo.html
Do the drives disconnect if you put the M1 Mac Mini to sleep?
No it doesn't. See the link in description. Great question. I understand that some models does require the SSD to be re-mounted after Mac wakes up. This model doesn't.
Hey bro! Thanks for the video. One doubt, I'm about to buy the Mac Mini 16gb of ram, but I don't know if I buy the 256gb or 1tb. Will putting a 1tb or more external NVMe in this dock will have the same performance as buying more space originally from Apple? And I can install the programs on this external HD, like Final Cut Pro, After Effects etc? Thank you!
If you are on a budget like me, just get the 256GB as adding even more external storage is easy.
Hi, thanks for your review, just wondering if this works with PC ? Thanks
Yes it should work with PC
can i put samsung NVME SSD 980 pro? I humble request please answer as soon as possible. thanks
Yes why not?
How is it after using for 7 months now
still works well..
@@ToolsElectroDIY have u figured out the leds? what they represent
@@aaronrivera17 just bought this hub and I’m curious as well! This isn’t any documentation stating this.
Loud unnecessary music makes it hard to follow what you speak … thanks for review… so if I understand it right, nvme is not at its full speed here … right?
Thanks for your feedback. Correct, NVME is not at full speed.
Where do I plug the 2nd USB C if I want to use both drives? to the electricity outlet or again on the USB C port on my Mac Mini M2??
I think you only need to use one cable to use both drivers.
Are you using an SSD Sata and Nvme both on this hub or only the Nvme???@@ToolsElectroDIY
how do you access the HDD’s???
it shows up as an external drive.
I want o use this with a mac mini. I also have a belkin thunderbolt three dock wjich has upstream charging from one of its two thunderbolt ports. Anubody know how to connect the three using the belkin to power the hagibis
No idea. I don't have the belkin one.
Can with M2?
yes
How are you backing up the extra drives?
Option 1: You can plugin a USB external drive for backup.
Option 2: Use the one of the SSD slot as a backup drive so you always have Time Machine attached to the Mac mini.
What kinof power supplie i need it. i have 5V / 4A 20 W, can i used it,,?
yes you can.
Can you connect this hub using USB Type A?
No
Bro, 0:41 what is the function of the other usb type c port? (the a labled port)
There are 2 type-c in the back, one is for power supply. The other one is the connection to Mac mini.
@@ToolsElectroDIY so we basically must use the power supply port to power on the hub?
@@ivanferdinand3671 I'm not using external extra power supply for it. It is powered from Mac mini.
@@ToolsElectroDIY Oke sir. But do you know what exactly the power supply is used for?
@@ivanferdinand3671 now i personally have not used this specific hub. But in my experience working with hard drives and ssds and mounting them in enclosures i believe the extra powere is to keep the hard disk spinning in a traditional SATA HDD. In the video the guy occupies his sata port with a SATA ssd. The SATA ssd uses less power than an hdd so he does not need the additional power that you would get if you used that other power cord on the hub. Lmk if this helps you understand.

thanks!
