You have got a really steady pair of hands there mate. I wish I was that controlled when sketching/drawing out a template for my graphic design stuff; thank the lord for computers and the 'transform>reflect' tool or i'd be done for lol!
i love that u didn't just print something off and use that.. it makes it so much cooler that u drew that outline by hand. PROPS!! u should do a paint job on it n then scuff it up n let it rust.. that would look dope.
I like the idea of transfer tape to draw on instead of doing on the metal directly. A plotter with pen on low tack vinyl would work great for doing vectorized images.
Yea I have thought about using my plotter to do exactly that. I'm sure will try it on future signs. There is something cool about total hand designed though.
Awesome work! Look up in google images "Dodge LE tailgate". Do you think something like this where the dodge lettering is debossed into the aluminum would be difficult to re-create? How did you get the brushed aluminum effect, just directional sanding?
Fantastic work!! I want to bead roll some interior door panels for my 62 skylark. What thickness do you recommend? Did you use a scotch bright pad on the hole sign to give it "the Look"
mchiodox69 Thanks. It is low tack transfer tape used for vinyl graphics. You can get it from any sign supply company. I have seen where other fabricators use Frisket paper too.
MUSTANG videos PLEASE ... although making stuff like you have been is cool... or how about a shop tour . I've been waiting for you todo more mustang stuff ..
Brian Lau I am working on the stang. Alot of what I am doing now is borning though so its taking more time to get some good content. Soon though...maybe 2 more weeks. Thanks for watching
The stick-on paper is a great idea.Much better than trying to draw on the metal.
Your free hand sketching is first class. Very good video.

Great work! What was that you put on the sheet to draw on?
It was some transfer paper. Main used it to protect the aluminum while rolling it
Badass, love the motto! Go be creative indeed!

Thanks. This particular piece was done in aluminum so it won't rust but I do plan to do some in steel in the future.
The Fab Forums brain fart! to much internet today..
hey no problem...it was an honest miss

Dave Reber i use gauge 18 aluminum i think 0.60
Which upper and lower dies did you use on this project? Thanks
+OppoMoto I just used a set of art step dies from @Mittler Bros. Machine & Tool
It would have been nice if you had shown how you did it. The peaks at the top, the tops of the 6s. Instead you showed large arcs
Pretty cool, I like it.
Dennis Skerb Thanks Dennis
