Glad you got some complimentary ice cause I was gonna talk crap if ya didn’t!🤣 Take care Brad!👍🏻
Lol thanks Rod
Great job Brad.
IBC tote worked perfect.
Love the video and Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Small business helping small businesses. Win - win situation. Can't go wrong with that. Stay safe.
Looks great, I like the idea for display and storage.
Thank you!
If the pipe insulation doesn’t hold up try pvc pipe. It’s a bit of work but I put it on the Ibc tote bundle stand I put at my brothers cottage. Cut a slit the length of the pipe and pound it down the tote. It holds tight and lasts forever. Congrats on the retail spot.
Great idea
@@FirewoodattheFurnace it took a little work because the pipe closes on itself as you cut it but we got it done, and it’s not coming off and looks pretty nice.
Congratulations Brad! Very exciting - your first customer! I like the extra work you did to the tote - the pool noodle around the edges was an excellent idea too, covering up any hidden sharp edges and the bundles look very professional. Best of luck!
Thanks so much! Good to see you here
Good luck with the new venture. The presentation looks great!👍 Terry
Thanks 👍
Great use of the IBC Tote Brad. Made an awesome display. Congrats on your new retail location
Take care,
Brandon
Thanks Brandon
Congratulations on your first retail customer. I just delivered 30 bundles to the store that I supply on Tuesday, I’ve been supplying them for 10 years. I’ve supplied campgrounds in the past, it became almost too much keeping up in the summer when they were going through 75-200 per week.
Good to see that you ran the County Line, don’t want your gas powered equipment sitting too long without running
Thanks Joe . Yea bundles will keep you busy
Good idea on the foam, I used it in my greenhouse to keep from hitting my heat on some of the pipe corners.
Good idea for displaying your firewood
Gotta love the complimentary cup of ice cream! I was thinking instead of knocking off those side panels with the labels from original use... leave them on and cover those somehow and have a Firewood at the Furnace label made the size of the panel ??? Even if not... looks great and good luck!
I thought about that afterwards lol
great minds think alike. haha@@FirewoodattheFurnace
@@joshuagarwoodakastickybiz3925 yup
Nice load of walnut. That was a large tree. I am surprised they didn't use the main log for a sawmill. I love locust. Probably my favorite all around wood.
Be sure to drive nails B4 it dries. If not, hope you've got a sharp drill bit. If milling it, that is
Congratulations on your first retail location . What a great place to have it at , an ice cream parlor !!!!!🍦
Hello Brad and family. Nice new adventure. Hope it’s prosperous for both you and ice cream store
Thanks so much
Hello Mr. Brad, Ice Cream and firewood, two of the finer things in life available at the same place.
Looks great Brad!👍👍💯
Congratulations Brad on the new retail location. I hope it works out well for you. Nice score on the black walnut also fantastic firewood. Stay safe my friend.
Thanks buddy
Hello Brad, The Firewood bundle stand looks very professional👏 See you at Bunyan my friend 🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Can't wait!
Good luck on your new venture. Never know this could be the beginning step into something bigger for you.
Thanks so much!
I think it looks great. It looks tidy, industrial, and accessible. Could use a little roof, that's my only thought.
I see you chose spoon over cone, smart move haha.
Kenny
Yes spoon lol. They did end up moving it under the roof
@@FirewoodattheFurnace oh good
You make nice bundles, Brad they are very appealing to the eye. I think they will sell extremely well. I just hope your profit margin makes it all worthwhile.
Cheers Woody !!!
Fingers crossed!
Congrats on expanding the business! I like the bundle bin idea it looks good, the red handles look great on the bundles also!
Thanks so much!
Hey Brad, congratulations on the first retail location. That's how it starts, it won't be long until you are wanting more locations. That's what happened to me and then it will be supplying restaurants.
Bundles can certainly keep you busy
Brad, awesome to hear about the new adventure and opportunity you have going. Just a thought, maybe add a box for business cards? That walnut score was a good one. 👍🏻👍🏻
That's a great idea!
Great looking walnut!! Congratulations on going retail with your bundles!!! Hope it works!! Enjoy ice cream each time you deliver bundles!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Cookies and cream is my favorite too😂😂. Awesome score of black walnut, that stuff smells so good when it burns. Really like the ibc tote idea for a display for the ice cream shop too. Great work as always Brad. You rock 🤘
Thank you buddy
Pipe insulation what I would have used. That’s what made my heated hose out of when I was in North Dakota working. Keep up the good work.
Thanks 👍
great idea ..i cant handle a full sised chansaw no more 67 but ryobi maks a marrery one that s light and powerfull. great idea with a tote looks good
Great job and video Brad nothing wrong with a little bit of ice cream 🍨 you’re not gonna be getting half gallon containers 🫙 ❤😊😮
Before you split that black walnut check into hobbiest etc. That stuff is almost worth its weight in gold. You can make what you would of gotten in fire wood several times over.
The best thing i did was create an LLC for my firewood side business (which is just a roadside stand). Being able to write things off every year has huge benefits. Shoutout to legal zoom and TurboTax for making my life easy haha
I have looked into that but seems complicated when talking about vehicles and equipment. Like I would have to sell them to the LLC or rent them to it….
@@FirewoodattheFurnace I'm not really sure about all that to be honest. I just keep track of my mileage when I'm doing anything wood business related, and that's about the only time my vehicle comes into play come tax season
I'm sure this will work out good for you and the shop owner. Congrats!
Thanks 👍
hi there good show , made me want some ice cream so i hit the share button , havent gotten any yet , hum best to all john
Lol thanks John
An excellent idea to have a tidy display of the bundles. Sounds like bags and bundles are hit-miss, depending on your area and location. I have a few bagged wood stands right at AirBnB rentals and haven't sold any. Once inventory is built up, I'll work on getting more locations to do a test batch of bagged wood at. Am sticking with the bucket for bagging, waiting to see how well they do before investing into the Wolfe Ridge bagging station or a wrapping machine.
I would assume the pool noodles have a UV protection on them that the pipe insulation does not to slow the process of sunlight breaking the insulation down.
Best of Luck with the new venture!👍
Thanks!!
Well presented tote of bundles there mate , well done and thx for taking us along for both journeys 👍 how’s the 10 chord order going?
1 more cord to split and it’s done
This is great news Brad. Glad things are expanding for you. Are they going to cover the bundles if rain comes? Might not look good if they get wet. Any ways have a good one!
They ended up moving it under the roof
👍👍
Wow that has to be exciting for you. Getting a foot in the retail market is amazing. Quick question... How do you attach the handles to the bundles? Keep up the great vids I travel about 85 miles one way to work 6 days a week and I've had my feel of working for someone else. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge, I plan on putting it to good use soon.. Be safe my friend.
I use 1" crown staples and put 2 on each end of the handle.
Great to see a new thing get started! Hope it works out well. But the real question is, will this become a good business venture? Or a bad habit LOL?!
If it becomes a habit, it just got way busier lol
Hey thats a great idea! how much do you pay for the IBC Cage? Here in Texas they are CRAZY expensive
I get them for free right now but they are only a few every couple months
Did I miss what you used for the red handles and how you applied them?
Hey there, yes I have a playlist with all of my bundling videos. Here is a link to the video where I explain in detail all the components of my process. Hope this helps.

Your going to haveto start making bins like Chris from "in the wood yard" has. For long term bulk fire wood plus then you don't have to stack it
How many 1 cubit feet bundles can you get out of a full cord? I understand a full cord is 128 cubit feet, and it would seem as though, mathematically anyway, one should get 128, 1 CU foot bundles from a 128 cubit feet full cord but I want to make sure than assume the math remains. So, how many 1 CU FT bundles does one get from a full cord? Thanks again for all you do.
My bundles are just over a cubic foot. I’m getting about 95-98 bundles per cord
@@FirewoodattheFurnace thank you for your speedy response. Thank you for what you do.
Love your cards you put in the bundles. Im interested in doing that for my bundles. Any info on them would help. Thanks
Great job, I live in Central NY and I started a firewood bundle business too, what did you use for your handels ?
Check this out. I talk about every step in detail.

Darn near human proof Brad..... But I have faith in our ancestral dipshittery...... Somebody will tear it up!! Great idea on the foam protector
What are you using for straps (handles) and are you still using them?
James from ky. What size warp are you using on your bundler. Nice bundles
It's 12" wide and 90 gauge
What kind of wood bundler is that brother?
It’s called the Amish made bundler. Here is a video from when I first got it. Contact info is in video description. Hope this helps.

Hey Brad, watch calling your business a hobby, if the IRS determines it's a hobby, they will stop helping you. The IRS helps you avoid paying taxes not evading them. By writing off your expenses, travel and equipment, you are avoiding a higher tax burden. Being a Sole Proprietor is the easiest form of business. One of Man's greatest achievement is being your own boss!
When you are young, having full time employment is great but don't forget, working nights, weekends and vacations for your own business can be rewarding. Mix it up so you don't get burned out.
They've got bigger fish to fry. There's contractors / roofers / pavers out there making 200-500k a year and claiming 30k 😂. Firewood businesses aren't even on their radar trust me
Those pieces you hammered off would've been a great spot for a FATF decal. You're creeping dangerously close to full time 😅. Milk came from cow, doesn't count? 😢
Lol yes I should have left those on and made a decal
How do you price for wholesale? 50-50 ? Do they prepay for bundles?
They pre-pay and I give them a small discount from my normal selling price if they buy 20 or more at a time
Should have left at least the bottom 2 rails on the tote. Would not interfere with removing bundles at all.Cutting all the way down severely weakened the tote
Rad ,nothing ventured, nothing gained. Good luck on this venture
90 % of my business I wholesale to stores
