  • This classic offense is great for teams of all ages to keep the ball and players moving.
    PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set stationary screens and wait for screens to arrive before moving.
After setting a screen always roll towards the basket.
Have patience, run through multiple times until an open shot or driving lane develops.
Pay attention to timing of cuts and screens, timing is key.
Read defense on all screening situations.

I feel like if u have a dominate post player on the floor the flex offense takes to long feed that player. And once the ball is fed to the post the movement seems to stop.

Hi Mike, thanks for the comment! If you have a dominant post player and you want them to have the ball as much as possible you can run the offense similar to what's drawn up. On the first cut across your dominant post player ('5') is flashing to the basket and they can stop in the key to post up briefly. On the second cut across (by '3'), if the defense switches '5' seals the defender on their back for an easy bucket, or, if they don't switch the ball can quickly go back to '1' and '5' posts up. That breaks the flow of the offense but you get a post touch with nobody around. Once the ball is entered to the post you can add a screen away option or get a player cutting to the basket to keep the movement going.

This would r used for exactly that when the offense might present a mismatch after the screen or even if you need a quick bucket in the backcourt on the first screen. There’s a lot of movement going on and many options. The last option is in the post. This offense can tear down man defense easily if the opposing team doesn’t know how to come off screens. Just my take on it when I ran it in high school sports.
