Awesome Work! I am coaching a middle school 7th grade team. We did read and react last year but the basic drills were not enough to automate. I look forward to trying your Motion O drills as well as these excellent Help D drills. Especially the motion offense drills because you have them more starting (or perhaps could be used from) an offensive transition perspective. That is the biggest hurdle I have had - the boys want to run but it has been a gap from transition to Read and React Motion. Looking forward to any videos/content you may have on Transition. Thank you for the Content!

Transition is another great topic. I'll tackle it in the near future. Thank you for your comment!

Is this considered shifting to a zone? No zone allowed in my league so I'm not sure if we can do this type of defense.

Good question! To be on the safe side, players should not move to the rim line, only to the edge of the paint. Usually it's ok in most cases but some referees are stricter than others. It is a good idea to talk to the refs and adjust.

These are great drills, but at the same time too, you can do the shell drill in live action and it would be game like

Thank you for your comment. I agree 100%. Adding defense brings enough randomness and game like situations to the drill to teach decision making at the same time.
I like to implement certain constraints to focus on certain aspects.
However, a 5-on-5 shell drill with defense can be too complex at the beginning.
Therefore, it can be a good idea to reduce the complexity at the beginning.
