I'm so grateful that you showed the regular MSC versus the Yacht Club. As foodies, it's clear that Yacht Club is the one for us. Love your channel! Thanks
Oh my, I don't know what I loved more.....swimming with shark sightings or wine tasting and the forest floor and hints of mushroom!! FYI - When you go on Princess, as an ELITE you can go to "FREE" wine tastings, and they are so fun!! You can really learn a lot about wine, from around the world. If you ever run across a head waiter by the name of HECTOR on a Princess cruise, he sings during the wine tasting and it will blow your socks off!
Good for you, Dee, for trying red wine. I was resistant for years, but now enjoy the Pinot Noirs and Cabernet Sauvignons. My favorite red wine is a Malbec. It is fun having a drink package to try new things- we do that too!
Loved watching y'all enjoy the lunch (despite the wind) at Ocean House Restaurant, everyone that had to watch food being thrown away in front of them (when they were hungry) at the buffet on you last cruise (non-Yacht Club) deserves a lunch like the one you had at Ocean House!
Good morning!! Great video as always. Love Dee's water pictures. No, you really Don't want to get up close to some unknown shark. The food at Ocean House looked amazing. Dee, regarding the wine. You have to look for "Organic" wine. It doesn't have the tannins that give you a headache. Getting excited for my Yacht Club experience in a couple of weeks. Thank you.
I would have set a personal speed record to shore if I heard someone say shark! I was worried that woman on a raft was going to be the intro of a new Jaws movie 😱
I love Pinot Noir & Zinfandel’s Dee and Jay. There’s an amazing wine tour in Ensenada Mexico that Cheryl and I have done if you’re interested in learning more about wine. 2024 West coast visit.
Oh nice! We keep looking into those California coastal wine country cruises, but haven't found any fit our schedule yet. I think we have a future stop in Ensenada, so that could be something worth looking into, thankee!! :D ~Jay
I love a good Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon but generally only drink red wine with a meal. Either pairs well with red meat. You may find it more enjoyable with dinner. For straight up drinking, white wine is better in my opinion.
HI, Was the Meraviglia very crowded by the big pool on 16? We went November 2022 and it was perfect. We Went on Norwegian Escape in February 2023 and it was a packed cruise. It really bothers me that people claim the lounge chairs with a towel and a book or flip flops. So far MSC was my favorite. It was our first cruise 4 days. When is the best time to cruise for 2 retired people ? You have a lot of experience cruising. 😊 Thank you, Subscriber of your channel.
We didn't hang out at the pool a whole lot, but it didn't look super overcrowded on this sailing. I guess you're looking at the quietest times to cruise? Avoiding the months of March and April for spring break, June through August for school being out, and the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays is usually the best plan!! :D
Sometimes, if they have an open bottle they may give you a small tasting sample. I had a Pinot red, not sure what kind. NOT a fan and big migraine. Thankfully I had the old Royal beer and wine drink package (no longer available) and I took 3 sips.
How much can you feel the boat rock back and forth? Also, is Ocean House open for dinner and the next day before the ship takes off at noon? We are sailing in the YC in TWO days!!!
We didn't notice much in the way of rocking, even though we had a small storm on our last day at Ocean Cay. As for Ocean House, it is not open for dinner, and nothing is open for lunch on the second Ocean Cay day that we're aware of, as you're expected to be back onboard by 11:30am for a noon departure. Have a blast!! :D
Funny, we've seen the MSC tea time but never actually partaken of it, ha ha... it's free of charge and looked like anyone could join it though. I believe the paper advertised that it started at 4pm!! :D
At Ocean Cay, if my choices are an oceanview (not beachfront) cabana in the Yacht Club area or a cabana in the main area where the beach isn't as rocky, which would you recommend?
Ooooh, I'm trying to picture where those locations are... presumably it's a choice between Bimini Beach on the very top of the island where the best snorkeling seems to be, versus around the sandy lagoon area which sometimes has a squishy bottom and murky water. We would end up being Bimini Beach people, between those two options, ha ha... :P ~Jay
It was strange that the YC gratuities seemed to be $14/day and the "standard" were $14.50/day, ha ha... but yes, it seems customary to tip your butler, dining team, bar staff, etc. etc. etc. as you see fit. We typically do that on the last evening of the cruise.
For Meraviglia as of right now, we would not recommend the "standard" experience. Meraviglia would be a Yacht Club only ship for us, unless the service issues get worked out. The other ships we've tried (Seashore, Divina, Armonia) we would be perfectly happy in the "standard" level, yes indeed!! :P ~Jay
Don’t y’all love how the woman on the floatie is oblivious to wild sea kingdom right around her? Great snorkel adventure!

Oh how cool that big turtle looked!! The water there is so pretty!

Ooooh, fun! Dee is elite from her training, though I'm still a lowly ruby. Maybe she can taste the wine and I can at least sniff it, ha ha... :P ~Jay
You need to add subtitles for Dee's snorkeling adventures. 😂

IMO, red wines are an acquired taste. Yacht Club suits you two!😉
It’s the pectin in red wine that causes headaches. If ur sensitive to pectin stick w white or blush wines.
I like a sweet red so lambrusco, Rosso dolce, less sweet zinfandel or malbec. You can always try red sangria too.
Good job editing, Jay.
Jay, that is the best Steve Irwin accent I’ve ever heard, makes me laugh every time 🇦🇺

awesome videos, thanks for sharing
That was exciting sea life coverage. Love the bright blue sea also
Love the lighthouse show ❤
I'm glad for the replay. I was on the sailing the week prior, and drank 1 to many margaritas and don't remember the show!! 🤫HEHHEHE
Great video! That was a good sized shark, it was probably there because of the turtle!!
I would have set a personal speed record to shore if I heard someone say shark! I was worried that woman on a raft was going to be the intro of a new Jaws movie 😱
Another great video👍🏽
every red tastes like forest floor to me. 😆 bring on the tequila 🎉
Hi guys! Today our banking account was hacked!! It’s been an awful day, but thx to you guys , you brought some chuckle to my day,,!! Thank you❤
Dee I love your snorkel footage
That pub is our fav venue on msc

As always, another great blog. Don't forget, stroopwafel on HAL cruise at the Dutch Bakery on board. I had one dipped in dark chocolate.😊
MSC seaside taking over
I like the Merlot !!! But that’s VERY VERY RED 🤣🤣🤣
What's up y'all! We were on the Carnival Pride with y'all and the Fintastic Cruising group cruise.
Shark! 😮 Is this the first time you've encountered a shark during a swim?
Dee saw one sleeping nurse shark in St. John, but this is our first active shark in open waters, yes indeed!! :O ~Jay
So glad to see you try some red wine! Experiment with some reds! Well done!
I understand Jay's love for blue cheese.
I prefer dry and smooth red wines and I typically go towards Merlot, Chianti, and Shiraz
Been loyal to RC but you have me curious about MSC
Whoo hoo !!!
The vinegar is for the French fries
Interesting! I’ve heard of malt vinegar on fries, but never considered balsamic!! :D

Love Yacht Club. Is there a reason you don't have the Butlers escort you to the show and off the ship?

Awesome footage of the turtle. Question what time was the tea service?

Go MSC
Good to know it is 5:00 somewhere! (See 27:27) 😅🎉🎉😅
I will drink red wines occasionally with my daughter but I still prefer whites.
We are heading here next feb. Was this a free beach and did you just snorkel on your own?
Yes, and yes!! :D

@@parodeejay Thanks for the response... Love your content! You two are amazing people.
Where do you leave your stuff on shore when you go into the water, is there lockers or? Love your Vlogs.
We use the travel safe that we have in our Amazon shop so that we don’t have to worry with lockers, hah!! :D

My msc 7 days cruise is coming up Sunday
On that ship
All I see online are 3-4 day cruises! No 7?
Not many long sailings on this ship, no. That's why we did a back-to back!! :D
What about tipping? I think $14/per person/day is a bit low for all the service in the YC.
It was strange that the YC gratuities seemed to be $14/day and the "standard" were $14.50/day, ha ha... but yes, it seems customary to tip your butler, dining team, bar staff, etc. etc. etc. as you see fit. We typically do that on the last evening of the cruise.
We’re those trailer potties the official Ocean House bathrooms?
They were the official bathrooms for the beaches near Ocean House, but I believe there are actual restrooms inside the restaurant.
So would you recommend MSC, regular room, not your Yacht Club even though food is not great?
For Meraviglia as of right now, we would not recommend the "standard" experience. Meraviglia would be a Yacht Club only ship for us, unless the service issues get worked out. The other ships we've tried (Seashore, Divina, Armonia) we would be perfectly happy in the "standard" level, yes indeed!! :P ~Jay
Then she is off to new York
