- I've spent 1 year with the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16. There are a number of things I like about the M16 and some things I don't so I'll walk you through this video. I have also benchmarked the i912900H and RTX 3070 Ti Zephyrus M16. ►⏩►⏩ Live Pricing and Links in the Description below...

I've enjoyed making these 1 year reviews of the Zephyrus laptops from Asus. The Asus Zephyrus M16 after 1 year is definitely one of my favorites. I like the large screen, Intel performance, and good battery life. I must say if you want great battery life then you should go with Ryzen, but this is a really good battery life for an Intel CPU since it is matched up with the Armory Crate center.

I sold my desktop computer almost 4 months ago and bought the 2022 M16. I got mine on sale. I will be moving to another country in less than 3 months. I am a gamer and a beginner photographer. I agree the battery life could be better. If you are heavy gaming, you are going to hear the fans ramp up and run at max speed. Not ideal but I either just ignore it or I put on headphones. I added the Samsung SSD 970 Evo Plus 2TB Nvme M.2 internal storage. I took out the 8GB stick of DDR5 ram and replaced it with a 32GB stick of DDR5 ram. Now I have total of 40GB of ram. Yes, I know about single channel and dual channel ram. I like that it has 2 usb ports but could use 1 more. While I do use the micro-SD slot for a backup of files, I would have liked it better if Asus had just added the full-size SD card. I love 2022 M16. I would give it an 8 out of 10 as there is always room for improvement.
DDDR5 ram has a feature running dual channel speed even if a laptop ram is soldered on motherboard, so it doesn't really matters

You can switch palm rest deck from G15 and place it on M16, they are compatible. Going to make it if I'll decide to choose M16 with 12th gen.

Is the matte finish keyboard deck the same issue on the g14? I've heard issues regarding the peeling of the matte finish too on the g14

recently just got this model so far i rlly like it it suits my personal use very well I only play games sometimes and the games are just some light games like valorant Didn’t have too many issues with the model but have some problems on the windows11 system tho
So, after 1 year... how are you liking it? Anything changed? Are te temps alright?
just one question, is the build all metal? is the build qulaity on the same level as Alienware?

Hey Ben g kaiser . Just a quick question does legion 7 2021 AMD supports CL22 3200MHz 2Rx8. DDR4 ram
Just got one a few days ago and I absolutely love it. Picture is crisp and doesn’t skip a beat for when I’m gaming. That’s the only thing I’ll use it for since I don’t stream or photo/video edit. I also purchased a cooling pad off Amazon for 30$ and it keeps it about 10 degrees cooler then when I didn’t have it. Was playing valorant on max settings in performance mode and I was sitting 65-70 degrees Celsius the entire time. Only complaint is the fans sound like a jet is coming though but when my headphones are on there’s no issues at all. Great gaming machine in my eyes
Does the keyboard gets warm during normal use ?

right now there's a sale going on if you check slickdeals. Lenovo legion 5i (13th gen intel, 4070) for 1399. and Asus M16 (12th gen, 3070ti) for 1599. I'm contemplating which one to get. I don't know which has better built quality and which is slimmer

There's many other channel dedicated to that. The reason most people subscribe to him is because he gives specs creators are looking for, not gamers. There's other channels for that you know.
Thermal is not the concern. I gonna buy that laptop.
I have this model but on i7 processor. That such a pain they added micro-SD reader instead of normal one T.T I have a canon 1200D camera and usually used to just plug in SD card from here to the laptop, but now I need to connect my whole camera to the laptop... I can't just take card with me and leave camera somewhere if I need to.
But I dont have any other issues with this model and still pretty happy with my purchase after a year. Im just in love with the screen and the design in common. And I dont care about noise cause I usually use earphones. The sound is very loud and enjoyable, I no longer use my JBL speaker to watch movies (but when I listen to music I still prefer earphones or speaker). Gaming feels nice with this model. Drawing is more cormfortable because of wider screen (16:10 instead of 16:9). I use my laptop stationary, so no need to worry about battery.
Mine doesn’t want to use any lighting, it was said that no lighting settings are available on armour app….
If they are same price, i would get bigger legion model so i don't have to worry about thermal issues. But Legion 5pro 2022 is quite expensive this year, like 500 dollars more if you want 12900+3070ti. I guess m16 is a nice pick if you use it mostly for productivity and light gaming.
hi ben can you please review this years updated gigabyte g5 KE rtx 3060 laptop which is announced with a mux switch please. i think no laptop at this price range would feature mux switch.i mean it has not been released yet but when it does i hope u will review it.

Esta semana en Bestbuy, pude comprar la m16 con el i7 12700h 16gb 4800mhz y la nvidia 3060 y 512ultra m2 x un precio de 968usd incluyendo los Tax, apsolutamente preciosa, nice temperaturas y excelente caldiad, la verdad x ese precio me siento comodo con el equipo q encotre para trabajar, no suelo jugar nada pero se q puedo si lo quisiera.

@@uwu2023prono la compres llevo 1 año con esa portátil y me arrepiento mucho de la nada comenzó a sonar los ventiladores, se congela la imagen cuando estas usando, la tapa de la portátil se daña no se cierra completamente, una vergüenza de laptop me hubiera comprado mejor una MSI.

Me too, I also was asking myself if it will be a problem when it is heating as that heating goes straight to the screen
Its not a problem
It of course depends on what you're doing but imho the cooling is great for the form factor. In silent mode the fans are off for most of the time. If they do spin up they do so at 1700 rpm which is I can barely notice in most environments. During rendering, gaming and other heavy loads it does become more noticeable but I find it very acceptable. Performance and turbo mode can be rather loud but that's optional when you're not gaming.
Wym, i just bought this laptop and it's completely silent in silent mode.
That soft touch finish on palm rest is really concerned me and i have a sweaty hand , i have to use external keyboard or use a cloth to prevent those oil stain on it ,it is kinda difficult to clean .also worry about the durability of this kind of material .but i really love the screen on this laptop !

@@daftpaolo9789 hi there , after 1 year of use , the coating from usb port and charging port is fall off a little , due to friction. and the palm rest area is get some kind of stained which is almost indelible.

I have this lop top for mouths now the one thing l don't like the top part of the keys are weak have broke two now and the only option is to replace the key pad .
2022 M16 with i9-12900H 3070Ti should be actually compared against M16 from 2021 i9-11900H 3070 (not 3060) for a fair result.

@@psvitaoled197 I have the exact spec'd machine Ben has and I don't think it's slow at all. I've been gaming since 99 and I'm an IT engineer with 18+ years experience. Not one thing about this laptop is slow. My only complaint is the 8GB of ram soldered to the mobo.

@@ui.steven can't say, I haven't used it with out the charger connected 😅, since the pandemic i have been in home office for 3 years, my boss liked it and we are keeping it that way now 😂
2t ssd isn't compatible with a 2023 laptop im so pissed my 990 pro just disappeared and appears only on bios
I've had problems with those Samsung drives and compatibility. Before giving up perhaps try another brand.
@BenGKaiser i heard to try flipping the os slot with the new ssd slot ill try and if it happens ill return and get a wd and update thank you maybe one of them is gen 3 and one is gen 4 slota

Yeah, I would like to know who decided this soft-touch finish was great idea on a laptop. My M16 looks like total sheet after 1.5 years, only because of this soft touch abomination.
