Sad a lot of quartets wen toward more rock or heavy metal mixing with southern gospel. Won't buy gold city anymore since Dan took Over. Went towards rock and Brian free
Bluegrass,REAL COUNTRY, Southern Gospel, Church hymns..Have all went rock/pop..ALL OF IT!...CONTEMPORARY Music in about all Churches. They rarely mention Jesus name.. Its.."He's so good"...I love him. He saved me...The Blood...The Hymns...the words ALL GONE!.
A big problem with southern gospel is that the radio stations play music from groups who simply don’t sing very well. It’s a big turnoff to listeners who might be potential fans.
ROBBIE HAGBERG you can get it done before you go to work tomorrow or if you can get this would I know I need a lot to do with the patio for a few days or anything what

Autumn has really been remarkable through this devastating situation. She's stood as the Lord had known she would, now as many are praying she's going to continue the legacy along with those who will stand right next to her throughout the rest of her worldly life, then when that next generation is here to shout along with his mom, dad, and all the many aunts and uncles whis made a commitment to walk along side her they keep Jelly,Jason, Amber, Nathan and Rex alive by the wonderful stories of their faith. Baby boy has a call already to minister to many, we must continue to support her,Jaimie, and Todd through prayer and many other ways. Thank you for sharing your best friends and mentors with us all. Love a lady in Bakersfield, California
Old neighborhood put together 5th Sunday night singings at small Eastside Baptist church. Had "practice up" quartets do this in a heart felt memorable way. Most have gone on to heaven to sing it perfectly. Thanks Gene, Bobby Joe, Archie, Arthur, CJ, Henry, George and others who could bring a tear of joy singing this. Oh and thanks Mrs Mary Helms, in heaven now, for the wonderful, expert play by ear piano work that made it all so pro sounding.
We need more music like this in todays churches they catering to todays generation which is sad in today's churches one the reason the church as a whole is not like it once was

I've been following Gold City for along time and have a lot of their CDs. I think my all time favorite is "After I Bow". When I listen to it I am quickly reminded how it is going to be when we get to Heaven and see God in all His Glory. What a glorious day that will be!
Quibbie B you have the Internet? Gaithers have an internet channel. Moody Radio is a great connection. or you can make a Playlist on UA-cam-I have several. I love the old bible preachers and the hymns

I have always loved this song. I got to see Gold City in concert when they were here in Virginia a few years ago. They were absolutely awesome. The first time I heard this song was on an old LP of Porter Wagoner's with the Blackwood Brothers singing backup. I think it was the Big Chief singing bass.
Garry Horn Close on the Big Chief singing bass, but I believe depending on the date of that LP, that would have been J.D. Sumner singing the bass with the Blackwood Brothers.
I believe you mean Big John Hall because Chief sang with the statesmen till his death In 1973 at the NQC. But the bass is John Hall when they recorded with Porter wagoner

Beat Gold City lineup of all times. This was a great concert. I have watched this prolly a thousand times and it never gets old. The video at the end was hillarious. “Nah he can’t kill you man….. cause you’re already dead!” 😂😂😂
I'm just learning to play this song; there a lot of recordings of it on UA-cam; this and the Chuck Wagon Gang's are my favourites so far. The Blackwood Bros. are probably the first but love him as many do, the long interlude of J.D. Sumner doing deep bass takes away from the enjoyment of listening to it more than once.
In this Song, William Lee Golden looks like Leonard Nimoy, William Lee Golden could've Played Spock. Looks Similar, but, That is My Opinion & "I am UNAMIOUS in IT" !

I like when a group just stand there and sing without any form of entertainment other than their voices. Really good singers

What a great lineup! One of the all-time great groups.

They did that to perfection. Beautiful harmony
Such beautiful harmonies. One of the greatest combinations SG has ever seen.
Natural beautiful bass voice. Always loved this group especially when Brian Free was their tenor and Ivan Parker was lead.
Perfect! Perfect!!! ❤❤❤❤

Tim Riley is among one of the smoothest bass voices ever. Right there with JD Sumner and George Younce.

Just stand and sing.
Some sing to the Savior and some for entertainment. Some both.
Ditch the drums/bass guitar and let that piano shine!
And just what is wrong with bass and drums
You do know that all instruments can play together? It’s a thing called a band lol
@@leeknightoutdoorsalabama356 I don't prefer them being used with this song.
@@BecauseHeLives39 I like the sound of some songs better with just one instrument accompanying them.
@@joshs.7453 I can see that but many groups have done it without the band and only piano, like the older quartets and whatnot
