Merrell seems to wear out much quicker than it used to, been wearing for years when they had the lace-free versions , usually disappointed now

The 6’s are my fave barefoot shoes, but they do have their downsides, mainly the outsoles. They wear quickly and they get pebbles and mud stuck between the lugs. Put some shoe goo on the worn out lugs to extend the life. My VG 5’s outsoles wore out after about 400 miles so I added shoe goo, now I’m at approx 900 miles and the uppers are still perfect.

How do they compare to vivobareshoes?

@@Chronically_ChiII Vivo needs to have a day off with the prices to be honest, its a bit of a joke. If they want more people wearing their shoes, special models should be around MAX £120, rest £100.
If you wear them for literally everything like I do, they wont last longer than 6 months either. By 5 months my Magna FG soles were shot with no tread left, and the glue coming apart. For £150, I want them to last years.
Saving grace is they have a good returns policy, so theyre getting replaced for free. So I replaced with Magna Forest ESCs for more rough hiking trails.
Ive ordered Merrell vapor gloves now for more casual stuff.

I've been using a cheap Tsla for more than one year and 3 months now and it is holding up pretty well apart from some minor cosmetic damage. I really don't see the need to buy expensive ones like Merrel or Vivobarefoot coz you just pay for the brand name. How can they remove a sole and charge u extra?

In general I've had a ton of pairs of whitins and other cheap models and I find them 80 percent as good as the more expensive ones. Saguaros are pretty decent too.

Hey Blake, you said these weren’t your favorite pair of shoes. I’ve been wearing the vapor glove 5’s for over one year, every single day, in multiple pairs, and one of them has worn through (after extensive use). I’d love to hear which shoes you’d recommend over the 6’s!

I do like 6s alot, they're just not the most durable I've had. I like Vivobarefoot primus lite 3s for all around wear and zero HFS is pretty nice too if you can get the sizing right. I've been considering trying some saguaro shoes next.

Do these Vapor Gloves still have the buit up arch please, or flat like the Vivobarefoot's ?

Terrible shoes. Sole wears through super fast. Mine lasted 2.5 months. Definitely not worth it.

I certainly understand your opinion given them not being cheap. How did you use yours primarily?

@@studentofphysicalculture i used them for walking. Gravel roads, soft trails and little bit asphalt. No running. They would have been destroyed really fast then. I use vibram furoshiki for running. My girlfriend had same issue with vapor glove 6. 2 months and all the heel lugs are gone. And she's 45kg person. These soles are too soft for durability. It's a vibram mistake. Merrel parts are good.

Tried the 6 at the store with my 5's sat next to me. This is not a vapor glove any more! It's a cushy sponge sock with a weird mid foot arch support type feeling, no longer true bare foot. Couldn't bring myself to buy a pair after having worn VG's since 1 - 2. I personally love 5's and 4's were probably equally favourable, though 5 had less pinky toe rub for me. It's a shame they feel the need to iterate the same model into a totally different shoe and continue calling it along the same line. I hope we can see something like the 4 or 5 again, but for now, after almost a decade in VG's I'm moving to Xeros and wearing my VG 5's into the ground. 😅
