Great video Marc, of all the shop organization videos I've watched over the years, it seems one statement from Adam Savage's channel liberated me from constantly stressing if I had everything in the right place...and it fits right in with your message here: "Shop infrastructure and/or organization is a PROCESS, NOT a project."
My workspace is so disorganized, I shake my head in anger at myself. It's overwhelming and kinda paralyzing to be honest. I just need to take it one section at a time. Now that it's cooler outside I need to make it a priority for sure. This gives me a bit of motivation. Thanks Marc.
II’ve been feeling a bit burnt out with woodworking lately. Something like this always manages to rekindle my passion. I genuinely appreciate the high quality of your videos. Thank you for taking the time to inspire us all!
Thanks Marc always good to see the details behind your shop organization! Though your shops have moved over the years your style, organization and design are always maintained.
If your shop is organized, you know what is out of place and what to yell at kids and employees over. "Being 4 is no excuse for putting a putty knife in the hammer drawer, no dinner for a week."
Even though I enjoyed your original shop videos, this one and its details offer ideas that would normally be missed. I really like this video. Thanks a bunch.
Great info, Marc~! I've been struggling with getting my space organized since building my pole barn shop (30'x40) in 2016. I try to draw inspiration from the numerous UA-camrs that I follow & other Internet woodworkers for solutions and I suffer from a raging case of "paralysis by analysis" from soooo many good ideas. Anyway, I've been with you since your beginnings and love everything you put out. Thanks for this one and I'll continue fighting the good fight of organization~! 😬
Great video. I am done with all my holiday jobs that I have to for events or clients. So…. It’s time to get the shop organized. I’ve been putting it off. My husband is the type to organize a space and then never change anything about it. His home office is a great example. When we moved into this house 5 years ago he set it up and hasn’t changed anything. I on the other hand…. Have had multiple layouts for my shop. But to be fair… His office hasn’t received any new things. I have expanded my shop by adding new tools and upgrading tools. It’s time to reorganize and be more intentional. I am blessed to have a 32x35 shop. I only have done a good job in two areas. I built a drill charging station that has storage and a drill press cart. Those two areas are the only places I’ve done great with storage. Time to get organizing.
Nice pacing, Marc. You showed us a bunch of great storage ideas in quick succession. I think you could have thrown in the video equipment too. Watching you for so many years, some of us are interested in how you make such high quality content.
Thanks Marc! I think I have been experiencing a bit of that burn out that you described in your last podcast. I don't really have anything to build that anyone wants but now I'm thinking about redoing my shop. Thanks for the inspiration!
You’ve moved shops several times and each time come up with a fresh take on the new shop organization since it’s obviously a new space. One thing I struggle with in my shop is moving things to a new, better location, but then not being able to find things later because it was “over there” for 5+ years.
Well he can either do that or buy one of Grizzly tools overpriced ones. But a husky with the wheels off might work too. The orange store has one of its house brand rolling cabnit's marked down now they sell Milwaukie the Husky stuff is close out about as cheap or cheaper then Harbor Fright and as good a quality. The metal is kinda thin on the craftsmen now its not made in waterloo. But Springfield mo now. With the amount of hardwoods in mo I'm surprised he hasn't bought a sawmill and did his own rough cut lumber from free tree take downs. Just have a tree service drop off the timber. Better to use the wood then chop it up as firewood.
I love organizing my workshop. It's not very big but I have a lot of stuff in there! And I have several problems I need to tackle concerning my storage right now. It's an ever ongoing process.
I'm about to build Cremona's tool cabinet build project in cherry, so style points count for sure! I too love good organization. It took years for my shop to arrive at a place where I feel like it is organized and functional now too.
Thanks for the tour and insights into your organization. Can you remind me what kind of paneling you like to put on the walls so you can screw in anything anywhere?
Great camera work. Enjoyed the videography so much, seeing up close and around. Marc teased us with that rasp drawer. Would love a short or comment about what has been good for him. Auriou and Logier have been the ones I’ve looked at. The two sizes of Auriou’s model/cabinet rarsps are what I was going to get. Can’t go wrong?
"This is for security" Your epitaph will read: "He brought a pipe wrench to a gunfight, (Liked the video. I now don't feel to bad about this one drawer. I mean you have six of them.
My shop is hyper OCD level organized. It's to the degree where I can direct someone to find exactly what they are looking for on a phone call. Just name it, and I can find it in my shop with my eyes closed.... literally. I am legally blind and so that might explain it.
I was enjoying this up until the "quick message from the WW guild"-not because I hate ads (this one was fine), but because the captions went all wonky and stayed out of sync even as you cut back to the shop tour. Oh, well. On to somthing else.
I am sad to see such great attention to detail but such irresponsible firearm storage. What really BUGS me is you need to have quick access as you never know whos going to just be flying in and destroying your finish. Marc build a rack that holds your gun and some salty ammo.

Awesome! Always loved how you kept your shops.

Love the Lower Decks painting, Captain!

Huge fan of shop tours and organization ideas! Thanks!
Nice shop. I am working on getting mine organized. Probably only take the next 5 years or so.🙂🙂

Glad you liked it!

Another benefit of an organized shop is safety.
Thanks Marc - I appreciate you enabling my shop voyeurism.
Pro tip: if you lose something and later find it, place it where you originally/first looked for it!

Hooooweeee that's a beautiful shop!
lmao "what's inside my drawers." *chef's kiss
I'm looking forward to seeing your build on cabinet under the tablesaw.

I've been waiting a long time for this! 😳
Man mark has a lot of hardwood I’ll see myself out
Nicely Done!!!!
I saw your salt gun. I have one in my shop as well. I love your shop
Thanks Marc !!!!
The Dumb and Dumber and Office clips had me LOL. 🤣
“If it’s got a hole, I’m stickin my dowel in it!” 😂 Too funny.
Thanks for a great video.
Great tour thanks! I also would love to find an alternative to the mini plastic drawers
A dream shop
I like that organization to you means throw everything in a drawer
That's what you got from that? lol
Even when I’m organized I can find everything but that dam tape measure. 🤪 Great tips Marc
I love organizing my workshop. It's not very big but I have a lot of stuff in there! And I have several problems I need to tackle concerning my storage right now. It's an ever ongoing process.
Thank you so much, sir

That Cremona tool cabinet project is a real beauty! You'll love building it.
2:41 is all you need to make your day 😂
Those drawers look like prime candidates for Gridfinity.
Thanks for the tour and insights into your organization. Can you remind me what kind of paneling you like to put on the walls so you can screw in anything anywhere?
Dude! Love the bug-a-salt!! How good are those things? 😂
Bug-a-salt FTW!!
I have a love hate relationship with that thing. Sometimes it just pisses the wasp off more and he starts heading for my face.
@@woodwhisperer Also do not recommend shooting stinkbugs. You will regret it. Fist hand experience right here.

Looks like you’ve just got it organized enough for a shop move. Where will the new shop be?
I think it’s time for some mahogany with purple heart inlay storage rack for those dumbbells you quietly overlooked
I almost fell off the treadmill with the Dumb and Dumber clip
I was going to say: That D&D clip got me real good.
Wait, did he say drunk drawer? 😅9:45
I love how you don't even mention the lathe, lol.
This tour wasn’t about tools. 😉
I know where all the empty Amazon boxes are in my shop/garage. A pile on the floor just past the door.
my mechanics tool box looks just like yours .
Are those red tubs Schaller bins?
1:38 was that a bug’a’salt gun?
Router bits and router location. Have you considered enclosing in the are under the table, having drawers for the bits?
Yeah that's a really good idea. I just need to come up with a way to do it that allows access to the dust collection housing
❤
I like the Tanos organizers instead of the light plastic organizers. Lots of $$$ initially, but will last your entire career.

When are you going to get a TV show?!?!
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball😂
Shop LOOKS clean, but you turned the Dylos off for the video, so we'll never know if it's up to Pentz's standards...
Needs more cat!
oh no the router bits are an 8 foot straight line away, the horror!
I noticed you watch Matthew Encina videos, which tells me you relate to this problem more than you're letting on. I see you! ;)
Check out Woodshop Junkies latest video for his small parts organizer.
You tease 😏
…hmmm, not a big Lie-Nielsen guy. 😮
"unnecessary walnut holders"? Au contraire.

I missed it. Time?

@@tomjudkins3799 hmmm. What is it??
Hilarious
“What’s in my drawers”? I’ll pass.
You should never go behind Worf and Riker…
What's inside Marc's drawers? Probably his backside
You know it! backsidesandpaper.com/
My hardest thing is to put things back where they belong. 🥸
