The Borg would absolutely wreck the empire. All they had were jumped up lasers and some ion bolts among with some decent explosives. The first Borg scout would analyze this and they would never get hit again.
Agreed. Imagine. 78% of a Cube could be destroyed and it would still be combat effective. The assimilation cube is a shape no one wants to see on their horizon. Enough drones and nanoprobes to assimilate an entire planet and its civilization within weeks. Terrifying. Turn billions of free beings into cybernetic slaves in the blink of an eye. This is my first time watching this series, so I don’t know how it ends, but all the “lasers” are actually plasma blobs. And that decidedly isn’t a laser, rather, it’s kinetic. And you can adapt to all the laser frequencies that you like, it’s not going to help you against a projectile weapon.
@@comradecockatoo3558 several species use plasma or plasma ion based weaponry. the borg usually adapt by projecting a field around their hull that resonates with the incoming energy and simply cancels it out. the most effective way usually to damage a borg vessel is either ot continually modulate the frequency and amplitude of your weapons which will by you several more shots but often not enough to deal a critical blow due to the redundant systems in all borg vessels
in all circumstances of a borg vessel being destroyed, it was either sheer overwhelming numbers of high output weaponry well above the level of sophistication of most weapons in star wars (like i mean lightsabers are the only weapon that would project enough sustained power overall) usually this is a high diversity of weapons, ranging from pulsed weapons and modulated beams, to several kinds of projectiles all on rotating modulation making it difficult for a borg ship to properly adapt in time.
or destroyed by OVERWHELMINGLY powerful weapons in one or two shots, only two weapons exist that are battle proven to this extent against the collective, transphasic torpedos, and fluidic weaponry from species 8472 that nearly destroyed the collective.
as far as weight class of weapons and defenses go, star wars lacks all around in the quality but wins in quantity
@@TheIconianCat Unfortunately, we don't have any kinetic weapons VS Borg stories that are canon, so we don't have any actual reliable measurements unless you count ST:O as canon, where Borg can't adapt to bullets.
I must say again that Star Wars' weapons are essentially bullets but better, in the fact that you're superheating matter and lobbing it at a target in the form of a blaster bolt.
@@comradecockatoo3558 captain Picard uses a machine gun against the borg in the movie first contact and it is effective if not somewhat lengthy breaking their body armor. Star Wars blasters also are NOT superheated matter. The mandalorians are the only faction that uses physical projectile ammunition in the form of boltcasters, a weapon specifically designed to counter lightsabers in combat against Jedi because the lightsaber itself would superheat the projectile and turn it into a molten spray hitting the Jedi, blasters are kyber crystal powered lasers, albeit with an impressive power output, but they are not superheated matter as they are never reloaded, but instead charged.
This stuff is 10 times better than anything Disney can come up with.
Oh boy, I'm so excited for this series. Fully expect it to be Thrawn Vs The Borgs as well because you kindna hinted at it in the end of the Thrawn Vs Empire series, I was not disappointed. I know you are a big fan of both the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises, so it's great to see you are finally doing a cross-over series. Since we never get to see how Thrawn would have dealt with the Yuuzhan Vong invasion in the Legends universe, which is kind of a shame, it would be interesting to see how he will deal with the Borg. Again, excellent video you are making. I love watching you essentially bringing science fiction novels to life.

My thinking that the Borg like the phasers used by the Federation, would adapt to the frequency of the Jedi's lightsabre blade and it would be ineffective.
Lightsaber are powered by kyber crystal. Kyber crystal are alive and have a collective consciousness. Borg are unable to adapt to biological weapon as presented by species 8472

Hell yes! If I can make a suggestion. Don't write it so that the Borg can be easily defeated by force users. Perhaps the collective assimilated some technology which helps drones to negate the force somewhat, and that the new Jedi are limited in number such that they can be overwhelmed by enough drones. Hell... assimilated Jedi...

What would it be like for a force sensative to touch the hive mind? I FELT A MILLION VOICES CALLING OUT AS ONE IN PURE TERRIBLE MONOLITHIC PURPOSE.
Im watching this content 4 years after it's making and i have enjoyed every minute of it. This storyline is intriguing and fascinating. Solid storytelling. I hope that there's more this story.

Hold it, The verpine are species 7453? The aliens from fluidic space are 8473. I don't know if you just chose a number at random or if it was a reference. But you wind up with some interesting possibilities if you wish to use it.

the borg are a nightmare heck they are one of the few things that could stand up to a fight in the 40K setting, the only reason they haven't wiped the board in star trek is the Q are meant to be putting most of there time into slowing them down, also the Q are meant to be scared of the Borg that says a lot.

I thought this was a pretty cool video to be honest, felt like I was watching a visual audiobook, and I like the original characters you have come up with, especially Rax.
You know I think the borg picked a bad target of the virpine as they have there shatterguns witch is pretty much a rail gun in a way and the borg can't adapt however they won't be able to destroy the cube however heavily damage the thing yes they will be able to and they will be able to destroy drones pretty easily
can you do a break down of borg cube tactics how they can fire and how they defend and how you would fight such a ship it might help explane why thrawn is worried about them if people are not star trek fans plus i like your ship break down videos
LOVEPHOENIXDANCER If you have Netflix you can watch STG season 2 Q Who, season 3 Best of Both Worlds, and Voyager season 5 episodes 15/16 Dark Frontier. Those episodes explain how the Borg do what they do.
i have seen a lot of borg ep in star trek i know they can assimilate your crew and tech they can adapt to your weapons after a few shots but this is where things can be hazey on writing in some sources they just need to adapt once and they are fine are in others they need to adapt again and again to always changing details heck in 1 game they just adapt to 1 thing at a time and if you switch to another weapon they will adapt to that and you can go back to the other weapon you was using before theres more details im not listing and it has been a while but thats the most basic on them and it calls for a break down video on witch path RSS is going to take plus the shows are more for show not real combat ^^

LOVEPHOENIXDANCER The normal Borg tactic is a frontal attack with one cube. If you manage to destroy it then they will send another one. And another one. Forever, until they manage to assimilate your species or they deem it worthy of two or more cubes.
A cube normally fights by rotating on himself while being swarmed by enemy ships, but against other advance species they employ more tactics such as warping everywhere and going around at insane speeds for a 27 km^3 ship.

It's at best highly speculative to assume that Borg shielding can completely adapt to turbolasers without any issues in doing so, since turbolasers use plasma and the type of weapon has never been used in Star Trek against Borg shielding before.

If the Borg find out about Thrawn's skills they will gun for him just like they did Picard. Luckily for everyone that clone isn't really him.
But if this newly formed colective can bring Trek tech online, it's over. Sure their are some super weapons that could affect the Borg once or twice. But if they can get a true foot hold, and take some planets in the rim or the unknowns this is going to be BAD for the War's galaxy.

Wait, the borg are going after Verpine?!? Oh shit! That is a huge blow right off the bat. Trek 'won' as they got lucky due to plot armor for the most part. War's has the Force, but this is going to be a hard fought battle that might not end well, not well at all.

Instead of doing the, "Bionic Zombie", method of assimilation, they could have learned about that technology used in, "Star Trek: Insurrection", and began using cloaked drones to assimulate organic life forms, but somehow they missed out on it. Hmm. 🤔

probably the biggest disadvantage in SW universe is their ships speed
most ships can only go up to light speeds while the borg can reach up to warp 9,9 something
which is probably million times faster than star wars lightspeed drives can do, also transporters are a big advantage - imagine borg boarding parties

All the Empire has to do is buy a bunch of slug throwers and it will kill the Borg. This happened in Star Trek First Contact and that is my proof l. Heck Tusken raiders could take them as long as they don't get close.

Also the Tommy gun in First Contact is tecnically an hologram.
If the hologram of the Tommy gun was more effective then their standard issue weapons why didn't they mass produce them.

Either way the Federation also created an advanced sniper rifle that teleported it's shots, but at the end the scarse encounters with the Borg (about 1 every two years) made them start developing weapons that would also be effective against all of their enemies.
I know about the sniper and it was very effective against the Borg. I AM just saying. Tbh First Contact is my favorite Star Trek film.
If u did watch that movie you would know they have Time Travel technology and could travel to a point where the empire is just starting and get rid of them quickly

The only characters that could carry against the Borg are Jedi/Sith and/or beings like Grievous who can use lightsabers with great dexterity. Otherwise, it is inevitable, since raw power (with anything short of the Death Star's planet busting laser) will be useless against the Collective

@@Hiddenlotuslord Indeed. The problem is that there is no such thing as magic. Once the Borg figure out how The Force works, it will be nullified. As for the lightsabers, they are simply plasma energy....a quick adaptation. General Grievous would be stupid to try against The Borg directly.
