Sept28, im laying in the hospital in Antwerp Belgium, one more surgery in a two year war against colon cancer. I was wondering how life for the TTB was going and when i would be well enough to see them again when i stumbled on this gem. FROM LAST NIGHT !!! We have to appreciate how technology allows gifts like this to appear as if from some other point in the universe and maybe all will be ok after all.. Btw, dont forget to get all your medical check ups.
Rarely see Derek swaying to the music like that. Most inspired Dreams solo by Warren I have seen in a while. Thanks for posting! Wish I had been there!❤

First of all, this is a mindfuck pull. Listen with decent headphones and you're standing on the floor. People talking are right next to you. Then, you have Warren and Derek pulling off outrageous solos. So damn good
derek is the greatest guitar wingman ever. he can compliment anyone by staying in his lane and not competing playing a perfect backing track controlling the band and letting his guest shine. hes got to be one of the best live players out there.

I always fear that these newer versions of the great songs won’t stand up. However, Trucks cleans up his playing to avoid the chalk board and Warren’s intermittent style is kept at bay. The bottom line is I was very impressed and appreciated the interplay that Duane and Dickey tried often in this song but not spectacularly successful. Great job! Loved the outcome! Wonderful!
I can barely believe what I'm about to say...but this version of "Dreams" shares the rarified air with some of Brother Duane and Dickey's best. I saw an interview with Susan this week and she stated that she'd like to do a punk record with Dave Grohl, if that comes to pass, Derek and Warren should record something. It would be painful if there wasn't at least one album by just the two of them. There are no guarantees for tomorrow's, only the here and now. 🍄
I couldn't agree more and hopefully after this reconnect they will try to make something like that happen. I sat with both Derek and Susan's families for the show and it was precious watching their faces throughout. Something to behold and be proud of. I also mentioned to Chris and Debbie Trucks how Derek mentioned over a decade ago that he and Jimmy Herring were going to go in the studio and jam out a record on first take! LOL! Where I won't see Derek again for a bit, I asked them to put the reminder in his ear for me! I will work on Warren to plant those seeds! 😎😊
Ok, so i normally think US band suck compared to the Brits and Aussies, but this is spectacular! Wayne and derek feed off each other like no other pairing of guitarists ever. Derek normally well and truly overdoes his solos, maaybe he finally listened to Koss! Derek is a totally different player with Warren than solo. Just spectacular, the smile on Susans face says it all. Dreams has been in my top ten forever, alongside Stairway, Ten Years Gone, and Blue Sky, (gotta love Dickeys melodic playing).
