Derek Trucks is a master at slide guitar. However it's not what he does with a slide that is Scary...it's what he does with out it.Truly out of this world. His Wife Susan is a solid guitarist and has the voice of an angel...a blues angel.🤟🤟🤟🤟🤘🤘🤘☝☝☝🤙🤙🤙
At one moment of this cover I think I could read Dereks' mind: " This is EXACTLY why I put this band together!!" Great to see the enigmatic Trucks looking like he is having fun.....!
What an amazing night! Definitely one of the best TTB shows I've ever seen. I knew there'd be a bunch of great covers but this went beyond a bunch and chock full of incredible surprising covers. Just phenomenal!!
way way carrying on and enlivening the traditional (and real) connection to the raw BLUES !!! Cutting edge alone not to buy in to the, no doubt, enticements to sell out .... Rock GOD's are pleased and listen as the truth revolves ... play it as you DREAM it !!! LOVE... denis !!! p.s. never ever forget the interaction with Mr Dylan and the love and respect made manifest therein ...
Song ends at 3:35. Perfecto. Band keeps noodling until 6:15. Good lord....nooo! Must EVERYTHING be a "jam?" It's like taking a car trip to the Grand Canyon and proceeding to drive over a cliff into them. Just a might too far, don't you think? I guess not🤷🏻♂
Phish's audience and TTB's audience overlap big time. I see the same people, we talk. I have been waiting all these years for these two musical universe's to merge. Like merging the Allman Bros with the Dead in 1971. The roots of the whole "jamband scene" come from two sources, the Dead (bluegrass, folk, psychedelia and the Allman Bros, (which is blues, country, gospel and jazz influenced). Mix it all together and here we are. Only expect more good things from this collaboration in the future. BTW, when TTB does a cover, it is better than the original 9 times out of ten.
When I first saw DTB in college we used to joke how almost emotionless Derek would look in stage. No smiles nothing. That all changed though and I love seeing him grin and be so animated
