This battle was kinda boring to me and it irritated me that every time jsu played a new song or a crankin tune PV would play sum slow back like what makes y'all feel like PV won... Like I know everything don't got to b blasting the bell off the horn but it's a botbs and ur at home crank tf up and play sum new stuff
AS a kid I grew up listening to both bands. I admire passionately to this day both bands. What I appreciate about the Sonic Boom is their groove with a punch. Not to mention, JSETTES they are deadly. What I live about the STORM is their ability to take you where you don't expect to go while musically staying in the character of their instrument. There is no radio with them. The Black Foxes gave me so much life on their feature not to mention TWIRLING THUNDER. killed it. I wish more people world have came to witness such an amazing event take place. Both bands say right across from each other without a single altercation. This whole event speaks volumes that small minds will always miss. Two bands, incomparable styles, amazing Dancers, and two crazy Drumlines... All four a great cause.
you just donot want to BATTLE THE JSETTES FOR STANDS....SORRY...BLACKFOXES...THIS WASNT EVEN CLOSE FOR YOU LADIES..JSETTES AND DOM WAS MAD OFF THE CHAIN
This must be a joke I don't know why JSU evening went to this. There was no competition playing PV. The only school can even be compared to is SU. I know the other school have the ability to play like them but they don't have the professors to tech them like they have at JSU and SU. PV not bad but not close at all.
I'm not no Jsu fan, I'm FT/OCEAN all day. But I bet you didn't hear J STATE play them same songs the next day at the game. Pv got a Kool sound but it better sound good, it's the same songs they've been playing all year
That one trombone player in the back annoyed me while they were marching in to Get Ready. All of those bones in front of you and you still couldn't tell you were off?
volume went to JSU sound quality went to PV. JSU was more organized when marching in PV DM was all over and off beat at times. JSU I gave the overall W
Jsu has great sound and power, but clarity is a bit shaky at times. Good technique, but there are times when I hear sound but don't necessarily hear any clear notes. PV sounds great and has nice power, though there's no way they could match the Power JSU put out. every part was clear crisp and deep, but they did not have solid answers for some of the songs JSU put out. Overall, I love the musicianship displayed by both programs. They both sounded full and mature and played high level music with good technique.
Trumpets: pv (they've come a long way since LDC),jsu trumpets was being covered up easily shit is embarrassing. Mellophones: jsu they've always been powerful, pv mellophones had their moments though Baritones: tie but pv had a smoother tone with this euphos( both powerful) Tubas: jsu niggas was humping all day 14k was still good though T-bones: i give a slight edge to tnt over sop Woodwinds: pv(you can actually hear them) jsu should use theirs for more than hype material Drum line: msd and wt always bringing it but overall msd is better Balance: pv Power: jsu Arrangements: some jsu songs were plain out a snooze fest, others not so much, pv has improved so they get the edge Overall: pv but both are awesome swac bands I'm not taking away from that P.S: I'm a famu fan so I have no bias
+Band Time you say you are not bias, but your statements prove you are or you can't see or deaf..lol I disagree with the JSU trumpet statement...you could really hear JSU trumpets this time!!! & I can tell you riding PV..& tha truth ain't in ya jo. cause,.ain't know way in hell PV bones over JSU SOP...that's comics 101!!! You said JSU a snooze fest..lol,if you did not go to sleep on PVU..man you crazy, especially when they played that slow arse blues song or whatever it was...lol! & you was saying MSD dancing Circus was...better than, the waaaay more technical WT...gtfoh, lol. This was a percussion feature not a funk train...lol!!!! WT straight up looked better, sound better, just out played them, end of story, thing is, WT can dance & still look technical doing dancing better than MSD also. I thought MSD was gone bring it...cause they use to be one of the best drum sections in the SWAC...but friday night did not show it. If JSU lost this boring BOTB ...I would clearly said they did...but they did not. JSU Band got this one dude..
+Kevin Reed lol so first you nit pick the bad things I said about jsu then you exaggerate them then you say I'm riding lol, I know good music when I hear it I know how a balanced sound is and I know if something is boring or not, you lost so DEAL WITH IT...
+Kevin Reed You are really delusional if you think wt out played Msd Lmao. Msd is the very drumline in the Swac by far. I have never agreed with everything subscribe has stated in here but that was the most unbias correct description of both bands. Both Jsu and Pv has their flaws but Pv clearly won this battle overall
+Image Live Dude...gdfoh with Msd better than WT...lol!!!!!!!!!!! Dude, quit being a fan of Msd...they ok...But they did not beat W.T. You the one delusional,smh...lol. JSU CLEARLY was more technical, looked more together, played & sounded better. Only thing WT did not do was dance & play with a funk train. All Msd did was change formations & danced...lol!!! WT know how to change formations while playing,Dancing & doing funk trains. WT does all those things waaaaay better than MSD!! W.T lined up to do a BATTLE! WT showed you they was better by out chopping Msd meac sounding drumline or whatever style it is. Dude, clearly you don't know about drum lines,If Msd is better than WT, they DID NOT show it friday night at the botb...thats all I have to say. Even when both bands are playing WT play way better with a band & are more creative. The Swac know who rules the percussion line Overall in band ,even if you don't. I'm done entertaining this...lol.
PVAM intonation went out the window towards the end of the battle...Jackson tubas intonation left everything to be desired in that upper register smh...EVERYTHING...
PV sounds much better this year but JSU took this easily. Now, where the heyal are PV's fans? I know when JSU marched in there, they were like WTF! Either this wasn't marketed good or PV's fan base is non-existent. I know JSU was ready to leave when they marched in.
I want know how pv get to play more songs then jsu they both good but every time it was jsu turn only played the intro so tell me how y'all can pick who won out of a hour and some minutes 💁🏾💁🏾
Imma give props to JSU when they were marching in cause ik how hard it is too keep tempo when going through tunnels and stuff like that and especially with a band that big. When they got off tempo they did it real smooth so it sorta flowed back on. good job boom
JSU I believe is the loudest band this year out of all HBCU bands and with that being said.....PVAMU sounded very clean. I tip my hat to them in this battle because they were cleaner.
Quality might not be A1 but as far as volume TC might be the loudest and I don't even fuck with them like that...SU and JSU have bit more control with their sound when they get loud
so you haven't seen su,tc,miles and bcu.cause all of them louder than jsu and i love the boom.this not a good year for the boom.WT still gone turn it up oooOoaaww
+Jerome Brooks JSU lower brass was all the way in the back and no spaces in between from trumpets to mellos, unlike PV you can see almost each section in the spaces in between so the mic will capture more. Other than that JSU had a very weak baritone section so don't start your BS.
One thing about our favorite bands... Nobody can tell us that another band is better than our favorite band. We all are biased toward or against particular bands. Don't mess around and disagree and say that their favorite band took an L. Then all your credibility and knowledge is questioned....lol Nothing is wrong with that. With that said, I am dying of laughter at these people saying that JSU took the W. The Storm was clearly the better band that night. JSU was loud. For me, the highlight of the entire battle was JSU playing "Tiger of San Pedro" and PV responding with "All blues and Spain".
idk bruh...Zymbalistik audio always be on point... I like both really because JSUBands does a great job as well...to be honest JSU PV and of course SU got the best media teams out right now
I liked both bands! But I'm going to give the nod to PV. It's not that they did anything special. I guess I just expected more from JSU and was kinda disappointed.
Just want to say, there is so much talent in HBCU bands it is unreal! For me PV keeps it funky, entertaining and fun. At times JSU arrangements are boring, but great band and sound. I love the gospel selection. Black foxes are truly dancers and I really like that they have dance experience. MSD killed it, more precision and entertaining. In my opinion PV takes it, they do so much with what they have and love the diversity of members in the band.
The trombone player, @01:00, marching on the last row in front of the trumpets, L-side need to be smacked upside his MF head! He clearly stand out, because he swaying his trombone in the wrong direction. One can see everybody else swaying in the same direction. He obviously marching on the wrong foot. I just cannot believe he hasn't noticed he's swaying in the wrong direction! Dude got issues for real!
+Kevin Reed i call it how i see and hear it brah brah! N far as this battle this os not even JSU IM WATCHING. SOUNDS MORE LIKE THE HIGH SCHOOL JSU BAND CAMP THAN THE BOOM I KNOW!
+Kevin Reed i crabbed for pv in 08 and have a brother that marched with the Boom back in 09-12 trust me when i say this don't sound like the Boom i seen and heard over the years. Don't get salty just be fair and square about it.
stop having people lie..pv wasn't close
I wonder why them boos towards Jsu stopped🤔
those were not boos those were booms
Kwill Willow those were definantly boos lol
They were saying boooooom JSU do that a lot😂
I liked this battle i give jsu the w. Hopefully they can do this again next year if pv makes the trip to Jackson.
Did jsu just bust out "no role models" oh lawd take me now!! 💀 SO AWESOME!!
J State killed these dudes again. Year after year..the same thing. When I heard that let it burn...it was over for me.
jsu for the w
JSU ALLDAY! PV finally got a good year don't mean they sur passed JSU in any category of song selection! 💯
jeremy wallace 😂😂😂😂😂😂right
@@peterhunley8806 It was a good battle
This battle was kinda boring to me and it irritated me that every time jsu played a new song or a crankin tune PV would play sum slow back like what makes y'all feel like PV won... Like I know everything don't got to b blasting the bell off the horn but it's a botbs and ur at home crank tf up and play sum new stuff
That's so ignorant of PVU supporters to boo JSU. Btw I'm PVU alumni.
They were saying “BOOOOOM”
PV band is not even on the Boom's level. What school of music did you come from?
level? lol which one did you come from lol and did you learn. . obviously not
the boom and the storm are my favorite bands. looking back pv is on a huge come up and i hope they stay that way. i just liked watching the battle
jsu dancers set the record straight lml !!!
JSU baritones got hella range
lmfao PVAMU drumline is on some high school shit 😂😂😂

I am a PV Alum but you know what just "hats off" to two class A college institutions and some great young men and women.
you just donot want to BATTLE THE JSETTES FOR STANDS....SORRY...BLACKFOXES...THIS WASNT EVEN CLOSE FOR YOU LADIES..JSETTES AND DOM WAS MAD OFF THE CHAIN
JSU’s tenor drums... THEM JOKAS THUMPIN LIKE A MOFO!
LAWD. 🔥🔥🔥💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Txsu can only thang is they gotta get them numbers back up
+Marvelle La'Rue tnsu got Jsu this year tbh
+isaiah You think so they number must be back up
+Marvelle La'Rue yea bruh look up the 5tg they was blowing
+isaiah o yeah i seen it they was ok. Jsu was having tempo problems that day
JSU took this W completely
I'm not no Jsu fan, I'm FT/OCEAN all day. But I bet you didn't hear J STATE play them same songs the next day at the game. Pv got a Kool sound but it better sound good, it's the same songs they've been playing all year
I like how JSU went to their ass lmaooo plz get SU an PV in gym battle
Great bands with great sounds.
The only problem JSU had was the echo. It didnt favor them a whole lot......thats all
That one trombone player in the back annoyed me while they were marching in to Get Ready. All of those bones in front of you and you still couldn't tell you were off?
😂 me too!
Both bands were nice. PV has nice quality sound and JSU with that powerful swag they have in their sound. All and all a good battle
volume went to JSU sound quality went to PV. JSU was more organized when marching in PV DM was all over and off beat at times. JSU I gave the overall W
Right! PVU drum majors are always on different beats and they look out of shape.
I would rather have watched jsu battle Southern, PV reminds me of a high school marching band everything about them 😂
yikes that jsu march in, but props for keeping it going!
Oh Wow. Both did a great job.
like the tuba break change up in "The Show"
go JSU!!! I like the fact that PV is diverse tho.... #noshade
JSU, this wasn't even close!!!

The black foxes were outstanding.... I love their style very neat clean and classy with a twist of professional dance....💃🏽
JSU with the win coming from Alcorn fan
17 - 23 min were heaven for me
if jsu had their twirlers back and introduced flags theyll be beyond untouchable
This was 4 years ago as an opinion but thanks for your input 😌😊
PV first song was nice but JSU finished y'all quick
I wish they could find a way to reduce the echo when bands play inside
Trumpets: pv (they've come a long way since LDC),jsu trumpets was being covered up easily shit is embarrassing.
Mellophones: jsu they've always been powerful, pv mellophones had their moments though
Baritones: tie but pv had a smoother tone with this euphos( both powerful)
Tubas: jsu niggas was humping all day
14k was still good though
T-bones: i give a slight edge to tnt over sop
Woodwinds: pv(you can actually hear them) jsu should use theirs for more than hype material
Drum line: msd and wt always bringing it but overall msd is better
Balance: pv
Power: jsu
Arrangements: some jsu songs were plain out a snooze fest, others not so much, pv has improved so they get the edge
Overall: pv but both are awesome swac bands I'm not taking away from that
P.S: I'm a famu fan so I have no bias

PVAMU Suprised me with That silk "Lose control" that was tight. JSU fan doe lol
This was a great battle.
PV's intro was live asf
PVAM intonation went out the window towards the end of the battle...Jackson tubas intonation left everything to be desired in that upper register smh...EVERYTHING...
Does anyone know the name of the jazz song off Mo Better Blues movie PV played
Proud of PV come up they didn't let JSU come push them around!! Tie ball game to me!!!
+John Pitt man ain't no way that was an outright blow out
PV sounds much better this year but JSU took this easily. Now, where the heyal are PV's fans? I know when JSU marched in there, they were like WTF! Either this wasn't marketed good or PV's fan base is non-existent. I know JSU was ready to leave when they marched in.
It wasn't marketed it was a last minute thing. I found out that week.
PVAMU just had too much movement going on for my taste. It was very distracting. JSU focused more on playing and it payed off.
Yea that’s Meac shit
jsu messed up In the beginning while marching in due to the tunnel I believe, but besides that, Jsu gets the W from me
I know one thing Ms Dominique Martin tho!!!!!!!
+Deangelo White lol
okay !!!!!!!!! im like dom why ..u didn't even have to do em like that !
+Deangelo White omg...damn DOM....
Both good, I like PVs Lose Control & many more, nice sound, JSU bringing heat though & them Zs!
Pv was good coming in that's about it?
what is the second song PVAMU play
JSU I believe is the loudest band this year out of all HBCU bands and with that being said.....PVAMU sounded very clean. I tip my hat to them in this battle because they were cleaner.
Southern....
tc jsu and SU are the loudest
JSU of course coming in first
Quality might not be A1 but as far as volume TC might be the loudest and I don't even fuck with them like that...SU and JSU have bit more control with their sound when they get loud
so you haven't seen su,tc,miles and bcu.cause all of them louder than jsu and i love the boom.this not a good year for the boom.WT still gone turn it up oooOoaaww
It seems like the volume decreases when the camera turns to JSU. Either way, the Boom took this one.
+Jerome Brooks JSU lower brass was all the way in the back and no spaces in between from trumpets to mellos, unlike PV you can see almost each section in the spaces in between so the mic will capture more. Other than that JSU had a very weak baritone section so don't start your BS.
+ZymbalistiK really man...lets not talk about all the weakness of pv...I don't have all day tho.smh
+ZymbalistiK and this is not nearly jsu whole band and they still murked..
you are a Damn idiot
+Lewis Suarez (PhenominalLewis) me?
Just to be clear....nobody was saying "Boom" at (0:44)......I was just "Booing".....lol...they were on my schools turf lol
PV needs this song from this year to today cuz it’s the same for them
Actually I always did like and respect PV. But the Boom will always be the measuring stick. Aka, "The straw that stirs the drink"....
What was the song a 50 mins omg it's at the top of my tongue
I got 5 on it
dance routine from SU dancing dolls?
This have got to be the most driest battle ever.
After watch me whip....what song did JSU play
Jasmine Sullivan - Let It Burn
Nice video I just don't like all the booing.
I thought they was saying "Boom"
actually no....I was "booing"....not saying boom
+Eric Hudson 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
+Eric Hudson the boom is the best
lol morris brown did the sax thing on nsu back in 2001
Jsu won this in my opinion
the storm has a clean sound good job JSU was powerful but them dam trumpet's need to learn some team work
One thing about our favorite bands... Nobody can tell us that another band is better than our favorite band. We all are biased toward or against particular bands. Don't mess around and disagree and say that their favorite band took an L. Then all your credibility and knowledge is questioned....lol Nothing is wrong with that.

what is the pvu song at the 20 minute mark
All Blues - Miles Davis
what was the song jsu played as they were entering
Temptations: Get REady
This is really not a matched battle why because ppl who love power automatically gives the win to Jsu.
So you didnt hear that tiger of san diego?
JSU Bands have better audio quaility......before yall judge who won...go to JSU BANDS youtube channel!!!
+Kevin Reed Zymbalistik and his team have great audio quality and has for years. Everyone just about uses the same equipment for audio.
idk bruh...Zymbalistik audio always be on point... I like both really because JSUBands does a great job as well...to be honest JSU PV and of course SU got the best media teams out right now
+Kevin Reed No
Ok. It seemed to me a little clearer on jsu bands. You do outstanding work though.
I could be wrong...lol
pv gets the w... I hear more music coming from them. . jsu was nice and loud.. great job to both band
I liked both bands! But I'm going to give the nod to PV. It's not that they did anything special. I guess I just expected more from JSU and was kinda disappointed.
Jsu killed these dudes all around. band and percussion did their thing. pvu is no match for them. oh, and that high school percussion section.
In my opinion PV takes it, they do so much with what they have and love the diversity of members in the band.
why was JSU cut off mid song?
+Marcus X'avier because its a march ... copyright issues!
Darn. I thought there was a conspiracy going on. 😅
Mellos was on
I mean the 3rd song
whats the song at 23:45 and 24:00?
This Could Be us
whatz da name of da song at 30:56
Oh yeah
***** thanks
+ZymbalistiK do you know who it's by
JSU was all around better than PVAMU! More variety, more power, more intensity. even them J-Settes slayed the game!
I see the salty JSU fans made it over here. You can tell who took an L by who can't give props.
song at 18:21 ?
Tiger of San Pedro
PVAMU 🐾
JSU drumline put up a fight......but PVAMU got that ass. Dont worry Jsu....you'll get another chance at the Honda
It was more entertaining watching the girls dance, I mean the band isn't doing anything special... Why is the camera on them
PV chewed 🔥🔥🔥
You should've stayed in the stands
Why you cut out oh yeah by JSU? Is it because they killed PV with it after foolery of watch me whip?
Uhh no Oh Yea was before Watch me Whip at 30:55 dummy, it's there smh. Shows how you either weren't paying attention or just talking for no reason.
Dude got issues for real!
i don't even know why jsu wasted their time....they could have spent all this time practicing for southern
boom !!!
the opening with Jackson marching in Noooooo I'm a jsu fan all the way but that beginning was soggy
Pv arrangements such
you had one job
Garbage
+HyPe vorrtex we ain't talking bout your mom so chill
JSU all the way...... PVAMU first song put me to sleep;;;;
so they just ignored the nigga on the wrong foot, swaying the wrong way?
Man MSD TORE WT ASS UP IM SORRY! JSU POWER ON POINT BUT I WAS EXPECTING A LIL MORE FROM THEM! PV GETS THE WIN FROM ME IMO
+Marvelle La'Rue a lie
+Kevin Reed i call it how i see and hear it brah brah! N far as this battle this os not even JSU IM WATCHING. SOUNDS MORE LIKE THE HIGH SCHOOL JSU BAND CAMP THAN THE BOOM I KNOW!
smh...lol. watever.
Who did you march for Marvelle La'Rue?
+Kevin Reed i crabbed for pv in 08 and have a brother that marched with the Boom back in 09-12 trust me when i say this don't sound like the Boom i seen and heard over the years. Don't get salty just be fair and square about it.
