First Pagani watch I ever purchased and was really impressed with the quality.
Gold /black dial is too beautiful.... with black bracelet its just crazy.... best idea of decade
Great to see strap shows on each of these watches. Rarely ever done. You did really well, they looked good on neutral straps.
Thanks, Ben! 👊
Had my eye on the light blue one the past few weeks, thanks for a great review. It could well be my next Pagani purchase.
I recently received the vintage Air King homage in gold, I bought that one after watching your review 😉 👌
Nice! Glad I could help! This blue and steel looks soo good. You'll like it
Thank you for highlighting the number of removal links - this is a killer for some of us and mostly overlooked by YT reviews.
It's hard for me to test that out but I like mentioning it when something seems a little off
Man, that intro is really cool!
Had me captivated for sure.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
great review. i have been considering the roman dial watch for about a year and half now.
Thanks for showing and reviewing the gold one. I've been wanting to order one but wasn't sure. I don't have a gold watch in my collection and it seems like a good candidate. Just wished they used plain golden stick indices though and only an applied Pagani logo instead of the full name.
Have been waiting for this review!! Thx so much!!
Happy to help!
Thanks for the review - I'm ordering the gold one tonight! :)
Hello :) I just commented on reddit about the Dg3804 jumping gmt hand fix! I'm so glad I found your channel, and I am SUPER GLAD a chinatime brand has decided to make a Day Date that isn't a rep. I am going to buy one in the morning. I LOVEEEEE the day date. Been trying in vain to get an Orient SuperSeville for years. This will do nicely.
Edit. The PRX on the wrist is also chef's kiss. Pagani Design is killing it.
Edit 2: I love that PD decided to go with the "modern" Sans serif roman numerals. The serifed roman numerals on the Rolex 36DD looks so gaudy and dated.
Welcome man, glad we could find each other!
Totally agree about the gaudy Romans...not a fan. 👍
@@EscapeWheel my birthday is on 18 January so I'm going to get one of these beauties for then! I only wish that it incorporated a butterfly clasp like the real DD but alas, the finishing on this clasp is not bad at all. Now I need to decide on which of the 3 dials - I like them all so so so much! I'm a bit wary of the blued seconds hand on the ice blue iteration since I like uniformity.
Best of all (if one can say that), is that I've lost my Parnis DJ, but I didn't love that watch anyway! (should have gotten the 2 tone).
Having never bought a PD before, does the box come with a screwdriver? My current one has stripped
As always, great review, Steve. I picked one of these up (same ice blue dial as the s/s model you reviewed) in the 11/11 sale for $87 total. I was truly impressed at just how closely Pagani 'homaged' the "R" Day/date. Virtually a Xerox copy. That bothers me not. So far I'm very impressed, this after my last 2 Pagani's were bordering on terrible. Fit/finish are good, the dial is very well done, the A/R coating is effective yet very subtle, and the bracelet has not pulled a single hair (yet!). You nailed my only two negatives on this watch; the diver's extension of the bracelet is useless (but certainly not a deal killer), and, I had to remove 7 links to get it to fit my 7" wrist snugly. Anyone under about 6.5" wrist is gonna have to wear this one loose. Oh, and mine is also keeping within about 2-3 sec/day. Very impressive watch for the money. Keep 'em comin'!
Nice! Thanks for confirming the bracelet sizing. An odd decision from Pagani as I don't see many 8" twister going for this size. 7.75" down to y" should be there range for a 36mm
@@EscapeWheel Thanks Bro for sharing. I ordered the gold version today through your link. I think Pagani has the best price / quality ratio on the market. you get a lot of TopAAA+ quality watch for a very small Price. Rolex is not happy about this. with these cheap AAA+ Rolex killers
@@johncarter6238 thanks man, I appreciate the support. I'm not sure many Rolex buyers are cross shopping a Pagani, but still, awesome watches for the price for sure. So much value.
@@johncarter6238 What are your experiences with the gold watch? Is it real gold plating or brass? I have not had good experiences with the Seagull movement. How many seconds per day does the watch advance? Is the date easy to adjust, or is it awkward?
@@4Fingr My experience has been great with the gold watch. it is L316 steel with a gold plating that will remain beautiful for years. the watch is ahead by +5 seconds per day. so does a 25K rolex. the date is easily up the day and down the day of the month
I got the blue one and I can't wait to start wearing it😁
It's such a pretty design! I'm happy it's a proper 36mm, if I ever need an upgrade from my WWOOR version this is the one :)
How the ylike the wwoor?
@@EscapeWheel very pleased with it, it's better than I expected
I am going to pick one up. That SS ice blue looks amazing. They really got the bezel bang on.
When you got the Watch. Did it come with links
Great intro! I think the day/date looks excellent in 36mm. Very elegant.
I think so too!
@@EscapeWheelWith the NH36A is a much better option. Works like a beast. Trust me. Have you seen the Seiko movement option?
@@zoranmandic3069 yes, better option than this for sure. Not that this is bad, but the Seiko movement is better
Hi, great review as always. I just received my pd-1752 with the green dial and just noticed that they have indeed got rid of that daft divers extension (at least with the one they sent me). I watch your review a few months back but wanted to watch it again as it's my first with the ST16 movement and the one I have has a gritty feel to it when hand winding and when screwing the crown back in but I notice the one you have also seems to do the same so I guess that's just the way they are. Anyway, love the content, thanks.
With NH36A is a much better option. Works like a beast. Trust me.
Is there an option to buy this watch with the NH36? Or you would have to modify it?
Nice looking watches! I've come to the conclusion that I have no need for any more dress watches. The 3 I already have just sit in the watch box gathering dust! lol Great review as always bro!
Haha, thanks Dan. I'm the same way, but the DJ is just casual enough I'd wear it out on a normal day. Wearing the Cronos DJ as I type this (so your octopus doesn't get hurt while out and about) 🤣
Hopefully they make the blue one with baton indexes or Arabic and it will be interesting to see it with a smooth bezel
The two step date change of the Seiko movement is because the Seiko Day/Date features a bilingual feature, e.g. mine is french and english (user selectable). As you can imagine instead of 7 movements of the day wheel to cycle through a week, a bilingual one requires 14. HTH.
Great review. I bought a Parnis 36mm datejust with a jubilee but unfortunately with the butterfly clasp I could only size the watch either too loose or too tight so I returned it. This blue Pagani is something I'm looking at to replace it. Some gripes with it though is that I wish the bracelet had more taper and the clasp looks questionable. Also in general I just like the jubilee more than the presidential bracelet. Do you by any chance know if Pagani offers a jubilee that fits this watch? I don't believe I could just swap the end-links from this one to another bracelet.
Exceptional Video Steve!
Thank you! Appreciate the comment 👍
Very great video! Thank you a lot :)
Great review..I wish the top of the case was brushed instead of polished. Not a deal killer. Think will go for the white dial.
These are great! I ordered my first ever Pagani today, will be interesting to get one on wrist and see how it compares to other watches
How are you like it so far ?
😊
@@powerplay4real174With the NH36A is a much better option. Works like a beast. Trust me. Have you seen the Seiko movement option? I've had it for a month and all I can say is, fantasy!!
The difference is only in the ref. no. with nh36a is pd1783
Would love to see someone swapping the black dial in the silver case/bracelet, and maybe a smooth bezel. I think it would make a great everyday watch
Thanks for showing. Finishing could be better, but yeah for that price is good.
I'm a fan of the roman dial but not sure about the other dial! Think if it was myself I'd be going with that ice blue
it's definitely the better option. thanks for watching, Jason!
Wish it came in smooth bezel... but hey. In my humble opinion the original this is based upon (the ice blue platinum to be exact) is the best-looking dress watch ever made.
Terrific review, clear and precise.
Thanks you 👊
Got the GOLD--I went for the GOLD. HEHEHEHE Love it but I agree. Just a few things could be better. It does go with my other gold and Rolisor rings and bracelets. So. HEHEHEHE
Great review as I am coming to expect from you Sir!!! Thanks again Man…Nice bands to boot. GREAT GOOD OLE REVIEW DUDE…
Pagani becoming the new SEIKO.... Bang for buck, last Seiko I bought is the first run Cocktail time.
The first photos on Reddit were terrible, so I gave the a wide berth, but the review had, as so often, changed my mind. I might give the green one a shot one of these days. Good, honest review!
I was tempted by the green, but the real images make it look a little darker than I would have liked. But yeah, thankfully this one looked better than the original real images from Reddit.
Good video, they are nice for the price
Thanks for watching, Bill 👍. Totally agree
Looks really nice, particularly for the price.
Agreed, thanks for watching!
I already bought two of them!!!!
I have a question: I have a very small wrist (like 155mm), can I make the metal watch band as small as that?
Thanks for the answer!
Great size. A bit to Grandpa and blingy for me. They do look good though.
The blue one is a very good looking watch. Obviously it's not perfect, but for the price it's okay.
Thanks for the video, Steve.
thanks for watching, as always, Jonathan. the blue one is staying in the collection. just sent the Gold one off to my Nephew for Christmas. hope he enjoys it.
@@EscapeWheel I'm sure he will be happy.
Have a good holiday season in family.
@@XjohnjohnX88 same to you man! Have a great holiday season.
so if the movement takes a crap what do i do? send it to a watchmaker?
Thank you for the review. May I know Ia PD DD36 also same ?
A green strap goes nice with gold
20:10 if you are big wristed, on a hot day this is a Godsend (Divers extension) I don't wear my watches floppy. So speak for yourself, we all won't be happier...
Just found your site. Great review. I think the stainless steel DD is beautiful, but my concern is their are so many fixed links, I would not be able to size it down to fit my 6 3/4 wrist.
Thank you. I think you'll be ok with the sizing 👍
Bộ máy st16 có tốt không? Nó có bền bỉ và sai số nhiều hay ít?
Good effort by PD. I just wish someone would produce a great quality daydate. I have just bought the San Martin version and was a little underwhelmed.
check out my ironwatch review. it's a nice option
Thank you for your very detailed review. I am considering buying this model, but I saw your review of the IronWatch RX 8005 and it seemed like a high quality watch. Which do you recommend me to buy? Pagani Design or IronWatch?
Iron watch is definitely the higher quality watch, but it's quite a bit larger Nd more expensive. If you like the color options, the size, and can afford it, I'd get the ironwarch
Got A NATO tossed in to boot. Looks like be nice but other watch needs nato so. Like the lil Diamond bagel style thinggys. Could be Acrylic? HEHEHEHE
Great video!! I just ordered these 2 watches. One review said that the movement is not the ST16, what's your thoughts?
just did some quick digging....it's an odd one. I found one day date movement from Seagull labeled ST6. but the ST6 through other sources only say it's a date movement. without markings on the movement, and a custom Rotor...it's really hard to tell. but it has the "magic lever" winding system like the ST6/16 so my guess is that it's either a variant of the ST6/16 or it's a new caliber from seagull that isn't well known (yet)
What about wrist size 6.7 -7 inch ?
Absolutely beautiful blue!! I like Pagani design but my PD milgauss clasp broke within 2 days so I'm unsure if I'll buy another.
I think that was a fluke. I've had many of their watches but haven't had one break on me yet. Plus, the clasp is an easy replacement. But yeah, the blue on this is just awesome. They nailed it.
I have the Milgauss too, ditched the bracelet and fitted an orange rubber strap. Looks much better IMO 😎👍
@@jacdavis I may try that on mine, I've seen decent silicone straps for 20 dollars on Amazon.
I think my next purchase is going to be either a 35mm PRX or one of these, funny enough the available colorways pretty much match. The movement and bracelet were the big question marks for me, I may just have to throw one of these on leather if I get it.
Pagani just launched their version of the prx and looks just as good! Maybe you can buy the 2 models of pagani...
@escapewheel could you recommend another DD or DJ 36 hommage at similar price point, but with more removable links? For a 6inch wrist? Thx
Not sure about the links, but Parnis and bliger also sell a 36mm DJ. The Parnis is nicer IMO.
Anyone here with a 6.5 inch wrist? If so how does the watch wear. Loose or tight or just right?
Can replace st16 by miyota 8285 ?
will this size down to a 6.5 inch wrist?
Hey if you don't want that gold one I'll take it. I'm sure you get people asking all the time but I figured I'd shoot my shot. Even at the price point they are at I can't afford to buy one at this time. I would go gold any day though. Definitely my favorite
Keep hitting me up, I'm usually keen to giving them away or selling very cheap. Gave this gold one to my Nephew for chrisas, though 👍
@EscapeWheel oh wow. I'll subscribe to your channel so maybe I'll be able to grab one some other time. Thanks for the reply by the way. I've been wanting a day date style watch for a while now. I just listed a couple watches I had to try and afford one. Either that gold one or the other blue one you had on this video. Cadisens version of this watch is too big for my liking plus it's more expensive.
Love the channel too! Keep I up the great work!
@@Kyle_R_Wolfe thanks!
I really like the light blue version. It's a nice watch. Finishing wise it looks good for the money. But the black one, gold plated with faux diamonds, couldn't be further from my taste.
agreed on the black...not sure why they went diamond indices...seems an odd choice. gold romans would have been cool looking IMO. either way, I just sent that one to my Nephew. he's into the iced out crap. hope he enjoys it.
Green , green goes good with gold.
unfortunately I had a bad experience My watch day date function broke and I kept getting white wall on date section I have complained but only automated message pops up
That's a bummer. Did it show up like that or did youaube set the day or date in "the danger zone"? (Between like 10pm and 4am)
How on earth does the sanda strap function?!?!
Nice
on one of the extra gold links, could you do a scratch test? to see how good/strong the gold tone plating is.
Sorry, I have this watch to my nephew so I don't have access to it any more.
I've heard good things about Pagani gold watches though, one guy used his in a workshop and said it was still holding up well
@@EscapeWheel thanks for the reply friend, good to hear
I would like to see on the light blue dial how nice does cubic zirconia shine.
CZ dial is only on the black model
@@EscapeWheel yes for now
Imagine the gold case/bracelet with the icy blue dial, gold modern San serif roman numerals, and blued HMS hands 🥵
Buy 2 and make it happen!
ice blue dial is 👍
What was the band length
Hello, i order root beer GMT model with PEARL movemant.
I here it's a bad movemant, doe's any ons have problem with this movemant ?
It's very hot or miss. If it's good, I see no reason for it to die on you withing a few years. I e had many DG3804B (same basic movement) with no issues for 3 years.
Do you think it would be possible to swap the clasp out for a hidden or butterfly clasp? The clasp was the reason I didn’t pick this up when it was released.
I really don't know how those attach...but probably, with a little work. Just not sure there's enough links to make the bracelet big enough...those butterfly clasps need like an extra 5 links vs a normal clasp
Really wish it had a smooth domed bezel. 😇
give them time...I think this sold really well, so I kind of expect new colors and possibly smooth bezels in the future.
Hello, since you've bought the watch and until now, has the gold plating starts to rub off or fade off ? any discoloration issue ?
No issues. I have the gold one to my nephew, not sure how much he wears it, but it still looks good 👍
I have a question. The problem about the watch is about the movement. I'm afraid to buy this because the seagull movement in this watch often to stop working after setting the time. Is this happen many times?
It should continue to run as long as you are wearing the watch. Having the watch off wrist for around 40 hours will cause the movement to stop running.
@@EscapeWheel do you wearing this watch everyday. Do you find any issue with the movement?
@@alifmokha too many watches to wear every day. But when I wore it before the review, for 4 days straight, no issues with it.
The blue dial is blemished where it meets the rehaut between 5 and 6, and it's not well centered: see the space between the rehaut and the outer ring of the printed minute track, it's wider at 3 than at 9. The black dial was assembled more carefully, but the "stone" batons look toyish and cheap. Both cases were left unfinished between the lugs, which is visible even with the stock bracelet, as its end links do not completely hide that part of the case, never mind when using soft straps. I ordered a pair of the newer PD-1783 40mm case diameter versions during Aliexpress' recent winter sale before I came across this review, hopefully Pagani Design has upped their game and the PD-1783 come with better finishing and QC than these PD-1752, otherwise I will be regretting my purchase.
Got my PD-1783s, one red and the other ice blue, they are running +6 and +1 SPD respectively. Dials have no blemishes but are not perfectly centered, with the ice blue being worse than the red. The "stone" baguettes on the red one look way cleaner than on the gold watch in the video. Space between lugs also came unfinished in mine, and the end links also don't cover that space completely, leaving that unfinished space visible to the naked eye. And the bracelet is where my main gripes are centered: its end links don't stick out like on the PD-1752 or on the real thing, also the middle links are poorly finished (they look like they were initially vertically brushed like the outer links, and then immediately polished, leaving a ridged finish instead of an even one. Still, the watches look great and are very fun to wear, and at the US$75 price I paid for each of them they sure are great value, so I am not complaining.
I was never really a fan of the day/date but PD did a good job. On the movement, it's ugly with a nice rotor...🤔
Thickness looks like 13 or 14mm so i was surprised it's only 11,4mm. Still, i don't trust PD qc and would not be surprised if the watch breaks within a year. So even though it's inexpensive i feel like i'd potentially be wasting money and prefer to spend a bit more for a better brand.
that's a fair concern. I personally haven't had any issues with my pagani's. my oldest one is probably a year an a half old...but I also don't wear them all the time since they are part of a large collection.
👍
It's beautiful, but 36 mm is too small. Could you please, Pagani Design, produce another version using the PD-1690 case?
They already have a 40mm DateJust. I'd be looking at Cadisen, their day date is just as nice as this and is 40mm
I'm sorry friend but 36mm is the classic size. James Gandolfini wore one comfortably and he was _not_ a small guy
do you happen to have any day date style watches you dont want or need? i still havent been able to buy one yet.
Unfortunately I don't...
Can the bracelet be adjucted to women wrist size? Like 16cm or so?
I saw someone say they got down to their 6.5" wrist, but that was about as small as they got it.
Does this movement get smoother with use?
I just got mine and the crown is very difficult to operate, and when setting the time the swconds hand takes a few seconds to stop and it skips forward a few seconds when pushing the crown back in.
Should I seek an exchange? Or is this common with this movement and i should just deal with it?
@@IaMaPh1991 not normal. I'd look for an exchange
@@EscapeWheel
Ahhh its probably too late for that now
Wish they make a Black dial baton hands stainless steel one
I think this one will sell well, so fingers crossed they start making other colors.
Just to make sure, you think, that the watches look pretty good?😁
3:29 Grams or grains? Because 128 grains is only 8.29 grams!
Is it good 7 inch wrist? Don't like it dangling on my wrist
Yes, should be fine 👍
So it’s great that these Chinese manufacturers are finally manufacturing 36mm watches… Finally!! The one issue I have, is that for the exception of Parnis, and oversized 41mm DJs that look like you can fry eggs on top of the dial…. all of the rest of 36mm watch manufactures have this annoying obsession with either using diamond indices on the dial, or Roman numerals, instead of stick indices that are not made out of diamonds
Check out my RMALTI review. 36mm and normal stick indices
Lucky ass guy. You got two of them for free
It's not like I just got them...a lot of time, money, learning, and effort went into this channel.
Is that tridium tubs on gold one?
No, fake diamonds.
How Pagani obtain this perfect yellow gold color ? Plated or nitrogem traitment ?
My guess is just plated, but I'm not sure.
@@EscapeWheel oki . But exist a system for obtain yellow wthouth use one atom of gold. Nitruration. Nitruration is Used for obtain metal piercing drill... engine valves in F1 and for many golden look guns ( like Gold desert eagle)
Would this be able to fit my 6 inch wrist?
It's going to be close, but I'd plan on wearing it on a strap
You can have it sized or size it yourself if you purchase or have the tools.
It's not hard at all. 😊
Hey, what kinda strap size is it? 20 or 21?
20mm
I want to purchase a strap for this what mm length would it require? Pls let me know
Band width is 20mm.
Strap length depends on your wrist and strap style.
@@EscapeWheel legend!! How do u remove the strap? Guessing u just poke the sides
@@sq9779 I'd watch some UA-cam videos. Tough to explain. Springbars removal tool and you have to pry the springbars out of the case. Simple once you do it a few times, but it'll be a struggle the first go-round

Is is possible to remove the bezel and change it to a smooth one?
Not easily. Prying off the old bezel wouldn't be too hard but finding the exact size smooth bezel for it would be near impossible.
Great looking watch, but in Roman numbers the 4 is written IV , not IIII.... This drives me crazy.
this is how most watches are done. it's called the watchmakers 4. it's all about symmetry
Nice watch but it must be 40 mm
