I'm 68, so I know I'm getting older, but the way I feel is abnormal. I have had diabetes for 14 years, and I try to eat healthy, and I do some walking, but somedays I feel like I can hardly do anything. I just feel like my muscles are so tired. I do take Berberine since Metformin is rough on my system. I am on insulin. I do struggle with my numbers. Life is such a struggle.

Question I feel I am at a good weight for my height , age and frame, but my weight loss was mostly Muscle, especially in my legs, and I still have the stubborn fat around my abdomen . I am T2, A1C in Mar 2022 = 6.3 , I am concerned about my Muscle loss ( for strength) ,Is this typical of T2 diabetes? Does anyone else have this problem or concern? Am I missing something in my diet for muscle . I am on Metformin, Ozempic, hypertension meds, No Cholesterol meds , Allergy Meds.
Yes I lost around 35 pounds but it was mostly from muscle loss. I have just started drinking Dr. Atkins protein drinks and ordered some whey protein but have not had any of it yet. I was walking about 2.5 miles last summer, every day but did not get to walk as much during winter due to temps. My A1C improved and health in general. Plan on getting back to it in about 3 or 4 weeks as I'm having some remoldeling work being done right now. Can't wait to get back at it. Also did 16:8 fasting which helped with weight loss.

Hello Sir... My husband is diabetic,I don't know for how long, maybe for 10-15 years. He's recently been diagnosed with cataract in one eye. His recent a1c is 6.7 as compared to 5.8 in last December 2021. My question is if his eye is affected, what about his other organs? I'm really worried about his overall health. Can you please throw some light? He's just going to be 50 years this year in October. I really seek your help and valuable advice. I'm very much stressed because of this. Do you think he needs to go for blood tests and what type of? His a1c is done in March 2022 after the diagnosis of cataract. What other tests are needed? Please please reply Thank you
OMG. Just another reason to get depressed about my Type 2 Diabetes. My internist perscribes Metformin which I take twice a day. I do exercise 5 times a week : aqua fitness class and weight training; minimum (under 45 grams) carbs for meals 3 times a day; 20 units of Novologue with each meal and 80 units of Basaglar at bedtime; yet my BMI is 31 and my A1C last month was above10 yet it's down from 12. I suffer from crush discs at the base of my spine for which I will require surgery. I'm in chronic pain and have spent 6 months going to pain clinic to determine the source. I have a great orthepedic surgeon who has done 3 operations on my spine. He won't operate until my A1C is under 9. I cannot stand for more than 10 minutes which is why I do exercises from a chair except when I'm in the pool taking a 45 minute class. There is only one endocrinologist in a 100 mile radius who has a waiting list. She's unavailable for 6 months. I'm reluctant to buy supplements because I'm unsure if they will help me. There are so many rip offs. I'm already taking additional meds for bipolar disorder, cholesterol and high blood pressure. My energy is low so I take a lot of naps. I'm 70 year old black female. I retired because of my health. What the hell else can I do? (sigh).
The best way to beat down diabetes is not to think much about research and all that. Just focus on your diet and forget about watchin videos related to diebetes! My grandpa is diabetic for more than 20 years and he is doing absolutely fine!✌️✌️
Thanks for the info. I have noticed pain in my lower right leg muscle when walking ten minutes or more. Can this be a sign of Diabetes Type two complications. I was taking Ruvastatin and my physician took me off stating that might be the cause of the muscle pain. The pain has decreased but has not completely subsided.
@SugarMD, CKD on a VLPD… I predominantly eat whole carbs on a 💯 plant based vegan 🌱 diet. I eat lots of carbs (fruits and vegetables), and my fat of choice is olives and avocados only (low fat). I’m not very active. I avoid protein as much as possible. But protein is in everything so there’s that. Regarding diet what do you suggest I do differently?

I’m type 2 diabetes for long time . Last year my doctor stop me from taking metformin because it’s damaging my kidney. I’m not taking any medicine for my diabetes now. I’m just taking good care of myself not to eat bad foods for my blood sugar.

Try compression socks if you haven't already. I suffer from this as well and they help
Try taking Magnesium 500mgs 1 to 1.5 hours prior to Bedtime, also Benfotiamine 600mgs per day it works good for me!
