  • I came up with this idea while talking with my Aunt a few weeks ago and wanted to actually build it. So many thanks again to Jeff Moss for helping me crunch the numbers and putting me on the right path!

Cool funky music. :) Its a great idea to do for the home. Your aunt can be the strict warden. Lol. Good job and nice of Mr Moss to help you out.✌😎

Lol thank you! Couldn’t have done it without Jeff’s help, but now that I have, I think I’m getting the basics down.

Nice job!! I use the HPC masterking program it's pricey but for schools and municipalities, I service it does the work for me!! Keeps track of cross keying as well as future keys if needed! A 5 pin KW1 system has a theoretical 6480 change keys available- Try keeping track of that!!

The funny thing is that I understand Best keying better than MK because you have one set number that everything has to add up to lol! But I have decided that I’m going to get some sort of program to do this when I get my license 😃👍

@@LockPickingPatrolman pin it now is cheap from blackhawk. it does lots of systems for keying but the systems design isn't covered for that you need a program aero software is cheap I preferred HPC myself . www.lockcodes.com/

I’ve played with lockcodes demo before (to get correct blanks) but haven’t jumped to purchase it yet. Figure I’ll wait on that until I get a 1200 or some kind of code machine.

Nice video! thanks for sharing. Maybe when you get around to making your video around picking difficulty of different locks (I think you alluded to in a live once, and the reason you were putting old locks on your shop door) you can include a lock with master wafers, and show that it's useful to have multiple keys, but at the cost of multiple sheer lines and how that effects picking difficulty.

I actually do plan on that! 😃👍 maybe starting with a simple master system and then going down to a Masion key? The challenge-lock-on-a-door series I have in mind is going to take a bit of work, but I think this would make a great side note!

This is the first time I’ve ever pinned up a MK system, so I’m still in the very early stages of learning as well. Thanks for watching!

I like it! I can only imagine the price on this machine. Years ago, I paid $13,500.00 for my Triax e-code. #Lockboss

Did you have to introduce a 3rd sheer line in the main door lock? If so, does it run the full span of pins? Are you aware that the more sheer line possibilities the more opportunities there are to pick it, and the more moving parts there are to jam up. Also did you use any security pins? Just looking out for you man... it's cool to be able to do it, but can you do it and retain security while not making it so fiddly that it jams up all the time. To do something that most can't, versus to do something *well* that most can't. Sometimes the latter is important. Securing your home in a structured manor, seems to be one of those times... to most anyways. I personally use my home as a storage, bathing facility, and winter shelter, otherwise I live outside, and I don't keep a lot of expense stuff so the security of my home is less important to me, I'm mostly just concerned about squatting and vandalism, don't wanna replace walls, toilets, sinks, etc... nor spend 6 months feeling like I have to live indoors just to babysit a squatter while I go through the process of kicking them out... I don't like sleeping inside, I'd rather sleep in my outdoor hammock.

I was hoping you’d show us how to do the math required to master key a simple key system, rather than just show us some keys and some locks, at least that’s what the description of the video let me to believe.

Perhaps in the future I will do a video showing how to do the math. Thanks for the suggestion!
