ARB Summit Bumper Install 2021 Tacoma TRD Offroad

  • I searched and couldn't find any really detailed videos about the ARB Summit bumper on any Toyota Tacoma 2016-2021. So, I bought one and made a video myself of the install.
    Overall, I am very pleased with the install. I get compliments daily on it from other off-road enthusiasts. And one of the main reasons I went with it is because it does not mess with your radar cruise control, or the airbag sensors. Also, most other companies have a 10-14 week wait on bumpers, and I got this in 3 days through @4WheelParts.
    If you're not mechanically inclined, do not even attempt this lol. I had a blast doing the install, I took my time and was very methodical, and it still took me 12ish total hours.
    The front stock suspension sagged a total of 3/4 of an inch. Which is not bad considering with the winch, this bumper is about 190lbs. While driving, I barely even noticed a difference.
    I would 100% buy this again over any of the other bumpers on the market right now.

    Can you replace just the bulb in the fog light housing? I have H11 LED bulbs already in my trucks fogs but wanting to swap them over into this bumper into the new fog light housing.

    You mentioned it multiple times.. the stock LED fog lights. Do you think there’s any way to fabricate an adequate housing to fit them? Is there any room?

  • @charlesprowse9947

    I pulled from the bottom, wheel opening was much easier. Also, if you take the plastic air dams out on the sides of the radiator it is easier to depress those fender flare clips, wedge a towel between the fender and flare and boom. done.

      If you watch the whole video, I spoke about it specifically and why I went with this bumper. It did not mess with the sensor at all. However, if you purchase a different type of winch that Mesa controller stick up in front of the Toyota emblem I will mess it up.

    Not very many Tacoma owners likes the ARB bumper because it looks bulky and heavy. In my opinion i think it looks good on Tacoma as it balances between function and form. How does it ride with stock suspension? Well done on the step by step install. Thanks for sharing!

    • @AdventureOps1
      @AdventureOps1  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks bro, it actually drives amazing I barely even noticed anything. This suspension and total dropped about 3/4 of an inch. But when I am towing, which is all the time everything is perfectly level. As you stated as far as function and form I don’t think you can get better than this bumper especially with the leadtimes.
      Someone else mentioned that they added 800 pound springs upfront and it didn’t move at all but the truck road like a dump truck afterwards.

      @@AdventureOps1 I agree it’ll definitely reduce ride comfort and fuel economy but that bumper really embraces any impacts and less damage on the front end. I often drive on the highway where deers are randomly popping out during deer season lol so this is one of the the reason why I like the ARB bumper bumper because they’ve been around for a long time and proven many times in Australia that it could take a lot of beating.

    You definitely covenced me about getting this bumper... unfortunately I already instal the TRD pro grill with that Garnish sensor that is proplbable going to be a problem with any other winch.
    If you don't mind, recommend me a good suspension that would handle this bumper weight. I am not doing any crazy off road.

    Hi, I just installed it today at Cap-it Medicine Hat Alberta, the ARB SUMMIT FRONT DUMPER. On my Tacoma Offroad 2019, and I buy from R4T the plastic cover for don't have to mess with the Tacoma dumper.... but this plastic cover didn't fit with the ARB SUMMIT BUMPER... you need to cut this plastic cover to fit with the ARB SUMMIT BUMPER... So after you cut this part, everything is OK.but when I buy this part from R4T, it is not to deal with any cut..... .... Finally, I need to cut the R4T part.....
    Soon, I gonna put a video on my Tacoma with the ARB BUMPER... I sent you the link ...

    Hi, thank you for all the info very good video job, I m considering this bumper for my Tacoma offroad, just one question, this bumper have no D ring... do you know if it possible to put , I try to see on the net but I don't find..... thank you

    • @AdventureOps1
      @AdventureOps1  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the comment.
      No, there is no place for D-rings.
      However, your winch is a huge d-ring in the center of the truck.
      So, if you need to hookup to someone or something, that is also a good point to strap to. Even if you aren’t using it as a winch.

    • @AdventureOps1
      @AdventureOps1  2 роки тому +1

      Their website said it was 160lbs. My winch was about 24 lbs.
      Overall it squatted the front of my truck almost 3/4”. It is not noticeable at all. It still drives perfect, no excess bouncing etc.
      I would 100% buy it again.

  • @russellwood8750
    @russellwood8750 2 роки тому

    Would love to know if the front of your truck height dipped down with the additional weight. Someone told me it can affect your radar cruise control if the height has changed it might need re-calibrated wondering if you know anything about that.

    • @AdventureOps1
      @AdventureOps1  2 роки тому +2

      Dropped almost 3/4 of an inch. Barely noticable…
      It still drives perfect with no issues, some guys put 800lbs springs on the front to counter.
      Zero issues with radar. I have used it multiple times.
