If people don't want short sponsors on videos, and also don't want pre-roll ads, and also don't want to be a patron, then I'm not sure how they think videos will get made long-term by anybody but the wealthy.
I guess since I’m the sponsor review guy now, I guess I’ll throw in my two cents. I don’t think sponsor segments don’t have to be terrible. But I do lead more with the audience's viewpoint. I think a big factor in hate is the fatigue of seeing the same products over and over. With most people addicted to the platform, it’s kind of hard to hear the same talking points in a different voice. I think (most…) people understand that UA-cam is a job for people. When I did my Air-Up video, and wasn't a fan of the product. And then rewatching some commentary channels that have Air-Up ad reads. It made their points in the rest of their videos, feel weaker. I’m not trying to start beef or anything, this was a really interesting conversation and perspective to hear. I can tell you from my comments, that there are people who just blind hate sponsors. But it is also more complex than that. Creators should take sponsors. And the ones I’ve reviewed and done the research for future videos. They are usually okay to pretty good, just way too expensive. And there are some good products sometimes. If you guys get offers to do Qobuz. Take it, really good music streaming service. But there is a reason why I have a career on UA-cam now. Audiophiles are getting the guillotine because their nit picks are bujie. But as someone, high, and with a headpbone. I do hate when recordings have sirens and creaking doors 😆.
