I'm completely with you re: "Children of Dune". You really can't get the full arc of the tragedy of Paul Atreides unless you carry through not only to Paul's withdrawal into the desert at the end of "Messiah" but through to the consequences of his cowardice/cold feet in NOT embarking himself on the "Golden" Path. True to the ORIGINAL (Greek myth) multi-generational curse of the gods on the Atreides, you can't fully appreciate the "modern Greek tragedy" of Dune unless you see that the curse of prescience passes onto the next generation, forcing Paul's own son to forswear leading a normal human life with no further descendents and a name that will be cursed for as long as humanity exists.
Dune broke even at the box office and would’ve don’t a little better if it hadn’t released the same time on HBO max. It also won a lot of awards. When it comes to adapting Messiah, I think it was said Villeneuve wanted to adapt messiah but wait a few years and do other films then come back to do messiah once Timothee has aged up a little. When it comes Children of Dune, they can adapt it whenever because of the time gap. This is however based on how much interest there will be to continue.
God Emperor must be done
I wonder how audiences would react to that one.
Three movies is enough. This is the story about Paul.

Yeah I’d like to see them do those back to back.
I can’t wait for audience reaction to messiah
Yeah that would be interesting.
This movie will make a Billion 😎
I hope so.

I’m curious to see how part 2 does in theatres.
