- Apple recently introduced the iPhone 14. Let’s take a look at what’s new. The most affordable model costs $799 and replaces the previous iPhone 13 mini. It features a 6.1-inch display and aluminum sides. If you want to go bigger, the 14 Plus features a 6.7-inch display for $899. Last year, a display this large would’ve cost $1,100. Both the 14 and 14 Plus are available in five colors; Midnight, Starlight, Product Red, Purple, and Blue.

Dynamic Island was some of Apple’s best design decisions. They took something aesthetic and added incredible functionality.

Me and my brother literally started shouting out of amazement when they played the demonstration of the dynamic island. I love the software implementation of the new notch, it’s soo cool.

Well to be fair operating those satellites are expensive af, so you can’t just allow the user to access it indefinitely. I don’t get why Apple made it their of the main features, even though it’s only available for 2 years for most people
They are using a third party service for their SOS satellites feature. That company uses a huge walkie-talkie looking device to contact satellites for the same and charges a very expensive subscription per user for it so since Apple is using that company they have to play by their rules. If not all their safety features are free like their crash and fall detection. It's nice that we at least get to have this feature on a small device like our phone instead of having to carry that walkie-talkie device. Maybe if Apple is able to buy over that company then we might get free satellite SOS but that might be unlikely to happen because that's usually the first thing Apple would do before rolling out the feature. So this would mean that the company isn't willing to sell itself to Apple.

Apple are masters of introducing features/products that make people say “this is so obvious. I can’t believe it wasn’t done before”
except it has been done before.
Let me see. They lowered the notch, and added software around that notch. And Apple fanboys think it's revolutionary. This is getting ridiculous. Meanwhile other companies are literally folding phones in half.

Apple always waits for the perfect moment to add a certain feature. They just added always-on display because now it uses almost no battery as the screen can now refresh at just 1hz, compared to other phones who have their screens locked at 120/90/60hz.
We aren't saying it's "revolutionary", we're saying that they are doing it better. We're happy with the phones they sell us. That's all there's to it
@@AndreVictorGoncalves Another guy named salt-shin put it well - Apple may not create new stuff, but they take existing concepts/features and make them so much more better and at the right time, when tech has caught up.
Besides, the Samsung Z-Folds are an absolute mess, and Samsung's OneUI is a slow slog of mud (unless you buy a super hi-fi model, which also slows down after like, 1 year). Even other folding phones are just fancy and are really not useful as a phone, rather a more compact tablet.

Sending SOS via satellite only works in the US, and Canada. You can read it from the Apple website. So if you’re so hyped about this feature but living outside the countries I just mentioned, you might as well consider getting a VISA along with your iPhone 14.

I love blue color. It was supposed to come out back in 2020 for the iPhone 12. But Apple decided to use a deep blue color. Also used that deep blue color iPhone for their press photos.

True, but those people can trade in their phones for a big trade in value so they’re not paying full value each year.
When you upgrade every year,it costs a lot less for a new phone as you get at least half back (sometimes more) for your previous phone.If you wait at least 5 years then you aren’t going to get much back for your old phone and the new one is going to cost you a lot more.
@@davidjacobs6244 Wait let's calculate it. If you get every 5 years a phone for 1000 it will cost you 2000 in 10 years. If you get a phone for 500 Every Year for 10 years you're at 5000. So no, getting one phone every 5 years IS cheaper. And from experience I can tell that phones don't develop that much anymore, so getting a phone and keeping it for 5 years is not a bad experience. I mean the iPhone X, a 5 year old phone doesn't even look that different from the new ones AND is getting the newest software update.

If you have some of the big American companies, you can get your iPhone for about $200 with trade in and that's your phone to keep, it's unlocked and paid off. So you can get 10 phones for a decade for $2000, as oppose to 2 phones for maybe $1600 over the course of a decade. So in the end you saved $400 over a decade, so about $40 a year? Not really much saving, might as well get that new version unless $200 is a deal breaker for you. But like I said this is ONLY if you got through these carriers

I always hated when people complains every year that the newer iPhones are literally the same and I do know in fact they’re not. Only the 5C was the case but now history repeats itself. if someone tells me what’s the difference between the 13 and 14 I’ll tell them :” Stuff that you absolutely will never use” and recommend them the 13.
Maybe the photonic engine solves the oil painting issues of the 13 ?
@@SF-li9kh the camera upgrade isn’t enough to convince anybody to buy the 14. Dude, the 11 compared to the XR brought the ultra wide, night mode, better battery life and the A13 instead of the A12 included in the XR AND it was priced 50$ cheaper. The 14 almost brought nothing to the table and they still had the audacity to price it 799$. The Pros were the ones that only got really better and I feel like Apple gave a middle finger to everyone who doesn’t want to spend over a grand for their phones. Really disappointed for the regular models.

What happens if you press the power button on the iPhone 14 pro or pro max will turn off or will the screen go dark cuz of the always on display?
The improved camera is welcome but satellite SOS and crash detection are barely features at all and will be used by surely 99% of users. The Pro gets all of the stuff to be genuinely excited about.
Because it previous 13 iterations they have already covered almost everything which is needed for normal users. So they have add something which will be rarely used.
SOS via satellite is only available in the US and Canada. Dont understand why we also pay the same amount of money (even more) for the iPhone but doesnt have that 😀

I hated the notch because it took away so much from the status bar. But this is like a status bar on steroids, so much more useful than ever before. Can’t wait to upgrade

Currently use an iPhone 12 Pro still serves me well no reason to upgrade right now
on my old iPhone 8 with a sim for a carrier I don't pay for anymore, after I downloaded the iOS 16 beta my cellular message switched from "No Service" to "SOS Only" now that makes a lot more sense with the new satellite detection they must have been testing its software on older devices
An iPhone 8 doesn't have a satellite antena so it cannot connect to a sos satelite

The iphone 14 has the 13's pro A15 (not the A15 from the normal 13) but can't handle ProRes ?... Did Apple just nerfed that feature on purpose?

As the reverse, like 13 Pro cannot handle 4K24 Dolby Vision, Action Mode and Photonic Engine despite possessing same main camera and processor hardware as the regular 14.
I didn't know about ProRes so I bought the pro max at 128GB. I probably wouldn't have used it but damn I'll never find out. First iphone purchase

128GB models doesn’t support ProRes.
It says it on the official website under, "specs". During the launch of the previous iPhone 13 Pro and Max, it even warned you during checkout on the website that the 128GB model you have chosen will not support 4k ProRes. Employees at Apple and carriers were supposed to educate people on this but they would all forget lol
You should cancel that order and buy one with 256GB but I don’t think that you would use it that often
If you're still interested in using the 4K ProRes feature, what you can do is when you get your phone delivered or whatever, don't break the seal on the box and keep it unopened. You can take it to your local Apple store and get it swapped out for the 256GB for $100 bucks more. They can scan in your IMEI to make sure it wasn't activated and it's a hassle free swap. You can probably call ahead of time to make sure they have the color and storage option you want.
Video Action Mode is a great idea, as I know many people that get motion sickness from too much “shaky-cam” footage.

Same for me. It’s not worth wasting the money on every new iPhone since in 3 years the 13 will still be supported and since we are passed the days of the newest iOS slowing down the phone, it isn’t necessary to get a new phone for slight speed improvements

These new features are life changing for sure. I'm so glad to switch back on an iPhone and never regret it. For now i will just keep using my iPhone 12 maybe next year i will get an upgrade.
bruh what? i mean, the satelite thing is kinda cool i guess but, if you really would need that thing, you would just buy an radio, that is capable of sending audio instead of oversimpified text, i mean i dont blame them they obviously weren't going to put an full blown antenna on the phone, but yeahhhhh its not life changing, and the car crash thing... i mean, yeah it could be useful but in most cases someone already is going to call 911, and even you just could, idk, just call 911????, i mean in most cases you would still have the phone, i see this only useful in REALLY EXTREME moments, and really rare to happen too.

iPhone 14+ does have a bigger display, but still 60Hz and same cameras as iPhone 14, I am confused that just a larger display and battery costs $200 more.

The Crash detection is not available on the IPhone 14. Only for the Pro models
I actually canceled my 14 Pro Max preorder. Sticking to my guns and waiting for the 15 Pro Max for USB C charging. I'm done with lightning. Hopefully it also has wifi 6e support and 30 watt charging speeds as well.

Greg A15 is from iPhone 13 Pro not from iPhone 13, plus thermal upgrade. To be honest 14 from 2022 is actually 13 Pro minus 3rd camera and 120 Hz

tbh i think the 14 pro would probably eat up sales from the 14 plus, considering you get more features for another 100 bucks.
Apple is a master at getting you to spend more than you anticapated. The 14 Plus was 899 for that exact reason. This year id imagine the 14 would sell very poorly, and the pros will get a ton of sales.
