You break those in and they are pretty comfortable and good value. Some people prefer a less cushioned shoe
Old school 574 have a puffy tongue and they're pretty weather proof, also there's no comparing a 990 to a cheap 574
I have 4 different pairs of these and they comfortable so no complaints for me
Most people wear them indoors or sidewalk walking.. what they were made for. I read a review of a dude who said he uses them to trail run cause they are better and more comfortable than the trail running shoes he was buying though.. very well rounded shoe.
Not for water though. Having sneakers wet and walking in them is how the soles start to come off too so best to avoid water if you can or as often as you can.
I have wide foot how are these for wide footed people?

I just got mine today and have been trying them and usually having a wide foot is a problem for me but these are maybe one of the best shoes I've tried. They are comfy and supportive.

If you live in a country where the weather is very temperamental you will understand. I lived in the uk before, you literally get 5 seasons in a day. You get out with the sun shining then few hours later it rain 😂

They are good for summer days comfortable for walking and running and breathable not a winter shoe at all

Those are classic New balance. And they are not made to be wearing them in the rain. Don't you see the mesh on the top of the shoe. Water goes right through that. Every shoe is not made for all weather. You wouldn't wear mountain climbing boots at the beach, so why would you wear those New balance in the rain?
The worst New Balance is still better quality than the best Nike.
Felt the same way on all the cons that you mentioned. Great silhouette but really mid on comfort

That's why I bought 2002r despite the fact that I went to the store to buy these. 574 is iconic but not very comfortable. 2002r blew my mind because of their comfort and nice build quality.

Imo these are a really good travel sneaker. Comfy, neutral looks, good multiterrain outsole. Only thing is you cant wear it to some formal event unless that dress code gets redefined.

#1 These are the best affordable shoes in my opinion thats worth it. When you break them in, omg. #2 The 574 does offer leather shoes vs suede/mesh. #3 I have flat feet, thanks for the comfort 574. I personally own over 50 pair of these.
The og 574s used to have a thick tongue they need to go back to that style

The saucony jazz 81 is an amazing alternative to these. More comfortable midsole in my opinion.

Its not a Gore Tex shoe nor a shoe for all conditions. Or course your feet is going to get wet. Why not get a trail runner with Gore Tex? Getting wet isn't necessarily a con either. Some runners and trail runners prefer a shoe that can get wet because the inside can dry out over time. This versus a water proof shoe but the water comes in and top and you cant self dry the foot because the water is now trapped inside the shoe.

@@hiteshkaringula6798 it depends one pair was perfect it was just the suede and mesh material but my all black ones with the reflective material were too tight. I just put some socks in them to stretch them out and they were fine! The 2002r are good too. The 990s are a lil narrow but they’re good too

@@hiteshkaringula6798 if you get the all black ones with the reflective material yea but if not they’re pretty true to size. Also not only could u go a half a size up you can go a half of size wider. They not only make wider shoes but they also go up in width

Number 2 its not really a con: if you want protection for the wheater you cant get breathability and vice-versa.

@@BillyVisuals I actually have 3 pairs of New Balance where the uppers r new but the midsole crumbled making them unusable, a 991, a 992 and 990v3. To buy them all again one would spend over $600. I spent about $200 on each.
